Mechanically in excellent condition, interior completely redone. Just needs a paint job to finish it off. I have over $20k invested in this XJ6 and I know I can't expect to get that for it, so if you are looking for an 87 XJ6 (the most desirable year) please consider this car. When I purchased this car about 7 years ago, I got all the mechanicals in order. All of the work from the day I bought has been done by a Jaguar Specialist. I have all the receipts, please ask if you want me to send photos of the invoices. First was a total top of the engine rebuild, everything that needed replaced was (over $4100) Next was the suspension and brakes, everything new all around ($6400). New tires and spoked rims (rims were $2k). Then on to the interior, carpet is original, I purchased NOS front seat bottoms to replace the worn ones. Then I redyed the entire interior in the original color. New seude headliner. All new wood from CG Woodcraft in England. They reproduce real book matched burl wood replacements. Everything I could get wood for I did. Also got the wood steering wheel from them (about $1500 spent on wood). Now to the final item, the paint. It needs a paint job. That was next on my list to finish the car off. Unfortunately I need to sell it, I relocated and no longer have the storage space to keep it. Mechanically in excellent condition. I have owned this Jaguar since 2007. As soon as I got it, it went off to my Jaguar mechanic for an overhaul. Everything was gone over mechanically, top of the engine completely rebuilt, anything that needed to be replaced or could be replaced was. I have all the service records since my purchase. Has under 45K original miles, tires have less than 2500 miles on them. Runs and drives like it was when new. Engine compartment is immaculate, brakes and such all replaced. Just had it in this week for service, everything was gone over. Needed new front shocks, so they were replaced. This is probably one of the best XJSC's out there mechanically. Since the rebuild in 2008, it has never given me an issue other than regular maintenance. As for the cosmetics, interior and exterior in good condition. I never needed or wanted to have a show car, just one that I could enjoy driving. No body rust, paint has minor stone chips and light scratches otherwise good condition, no tears or wearing in the top, plastic window in back is cloudy, no rips or tears on upholstery, no cracks in dash, carpet in good condition, wood in excellent condition, radio and speakers replaced. This model (XJSC) was only produced in 1986 and 1987 with less than 1500 made total between the 2 years. Jaguar didn't have convertibles for many years and the Jaguar customer was looking for one. It takes time to get a car in production, so the solution was to modify the XJS coupe. They sent the vehicles to Aston Martin to have the tops done. This meet the demand until they were in production with the full convertible in 1988. I can't stress enough the mechanical condition of the car. If you are within the distance to come to see and drive the car, I know you will be impressed. I know I will never get out the money I put into this and I hate to see it go, but I moved from where I had the garage space at home to now I have it stored at a garage away from my house and do not get to drive it much.
