Wiki Insert: The VehiCROSS was highly regarded for its cross-terrain performance. It combined a computer-controlled AWD (4+1 (spare tire-tailgate)) system for on-road driving and a locked-differential low-gear 4WD system for off-road driving. The Japanese version offered a 2WD non TOD or 4WD TOD option. The US-only constant 4WD TOD, with 12 independent sensors for detecting wheel spin and capable of redirecting power to the wheels with the most traction, gives the VehiCROSS a high level of traction on wet and icy roads. It also has a high level of performance for its height. While possessing on-road nimbleness, its body-on-frame truck construction, suspension and 4WD gearing make it very capable off-road. Excellent multipurpose vehicle and always got me out of storms or sticky situations! The ONLY reason why I am selling it is due to a new addition to the family and a car seat doesn't come in or out of this easily ;) It is missing the back seats but I have all the hardware for it. I never needed them so I took them out to shed weight. The spare tire and jack are also removed due the the 3" Old Man Emu lift and 33" tires making either of those obsolete. I removed the clutch fan and installed dual electric fans from a '99 Stratus which work very well and gave a noticeable increase in MPG and performance! The A/C started blowing REALLY cold after that upgrade as well. The fans do need to be wired up to a new thermostatically controlled switch, they are hard wired with a 200A continuous duty relay right now to run with the vehicle and the truck has NEVER overheated! I have run Mobil1 since 20K and Royal Purple fluids since 40k miles and all other maintenance performed with records. The CV boots are torn so those will need replacing but there are no sounds coming from the axles yet. I have also installed a TOD disconnect switch (a 4wd switch from a Rodeo) to put it into 2WD and save some MPG. This is also what has saved the CV axles. The windows on these have been notoriously problematic, they do roll up and down but need some assistance. Upgrades: Lifted 3" Old Man Emu 512 springs in the rear Front torsion bars cranked and ball joints flipped to lift front end Transfer case lowered to correct lift angles Energy Suspension greasable front sway bar bushings K'N Air filter NGK Iridium spark plugs Royal Purple fluids Dual electric fans from '99 Dodge Stratus Uhaul hitch installed Crager Soft 8s black powder coated steel rims TOD Disconnect switch Wired for a sound system with a 150A breaker (will include the rear speaker mount I made to replace the spare tire cover) Sound dampened most of the interior, it didn't rattle with a 10" Kicker Solo Baric pounding back there! Front windows are tinted at 30% and the rear is at 10% roughly with a front eyebrow tint strip. With the A/C it stays nice and cool inside! Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements.
