Have owned this classic Scout since ~ 1990. Hate to sell but teenagers have taken over garage. Scout had significant rehab in 2004 which included: · New Paint/Wimberlin off white exterior, custom black canvas convertible top and interior upholstery; New carburetor, plug wires, air filter; Replace any rusted quarter panels and hood; Strip paint to metal and repaint with Wimberlin white; Install roll-bar and upholstered padding; Custom soft top, safari style (Specialty Top Co., Denver, CO); New Diamond Stitch upholstery (same fabric as soft-top); Rhino-lined interior tub and cargo area;Electronic ignition/new starter; New Headlights; New bumpers; New grill; 5 point harness seatbelts on rear seat (2); New shoulder/seat belts for front seat; New stereo/speakers (2012);Push button ignition installed (2013); Replace carburetor, plugs and wires (2013); Brand new Toyo Open Country Tires –less than 50 miles (Summer 2014); New Master cylinder (Summer 2014); Four wheel drive (4WD) with locking hubs; Air conditioner works, but needs Freon (small leak);Speedometer has never worked since I owned it, thus TMU. Could be a daily driver, off-road/rock climber, weekender, Ranch/hunting car, Scout enthusiast/collector car, or special occasion convertible. Never intended on doing a complete restoration, so most of the items above were done because they needed to be done, or I wanted to do the slight modification. Have probably forgotten other things done over the years. Since most of the Scout remains original, and there was never a “bottom-up restoration,” there are things that could still be done to improve, restore, or repair, but it drives great, looks great, and works well off-road. Get more positive comments on this car than any car every owned. Priced to sell quick @ $12,999.00.
