Here is a California 2000 Honda Insight with 34,210 actual miles for sale.   I purchased it from a city in the Los Angeles area.   The city registered it on 12/08/2000 with 83 miles on the odometer.  The title was issued to the city on 12/20/2000. They owned and maintained it until I purchased it.   All systems are operational (the Auto Idle Stop took me awhile to get confidence in it, the engine really does self-start).   The Insight is in very good mechanical condition and, completely original.  The Owners Manual (all 250 pages of it) is in the glove compartment.  The spare tire has never been used; the lug wrench is still in bubble wrap inside its vinyl pouch, and another, larger vinyl pouch encloses the unused jack.   The silver paint is original and still has the wet, shiny look over most of the Insight.  The paint on the middle of the hood is a little dull looking along with the small sized roof of the car.   The city logos that were on the sides of the vehicle having been removed.  When I found out that the Insight might be sold I looked into that possibility.  It was said that the city had more than one hybrid in the last 15 years.   The IMA batteries were conditioned every five years.   After a few more inquiries about the Insight at different locations,  I ran an Auto-Check on it.  I purchased the Insight.  The car is a pleasure to drive (no IMA light).  It is very nimble and quick. The occasional 60 to 70 mpg on the indicator looked good.  There is only one insurmountable problem for me.  The 5-speed manual trans!   Due to the fact that I’m 83 years young and haven' t driven a car with a manual transmission in years, especially in traffic, my left leg and knee limited the driving time in traffic to about 30 minutes.
