Thanks, Tom (828-545-6090) 2001 Honda Civic EX Coupe, VG+ to Excellent condition, power windows & locks, heating and air-conditioning work properly, relatively new tires & brakes (5 months old), 4-speed automatic transmission, strong D-17A2 SOHC VTEC engine (1.7 liter, 127 hp), ABS brakes, 26/34 mpg (city/highway), cruise control, sunroof.$2300 of recent work and new OME Honda parts (12 month parts & labor warranty):• Completely new head gasket, with head professionally machined to specifications• Timing belt & water pump, & all appropriate seals & parts• Motor mount (driver's side)• Spark plugs, oil change, etc• Radiator, thermostat & coolant• Left front wheel bearing• Right front lower control arm, & ball jointNew tires (4), and front brakes in May 2015.Also, $700 additional work in August 2014.This is a great gas-saver, low-maintenance, safe car. This car needs no major work, & should be good for at least another 100K miles before another timing belt is due. This car could easily last another 150K miles, with proper oil changes and minor maintenance. ~ This is a great, reliable and practical car--especially for a student or commuter. Why I am selling this car after extensive repairs: This was my son's car when it overheated a few weeks ago; he needed another car immediately and bought a very similar Acura RSX. Since then, I've had this Civic repaired just the same as I would have if I was keeping it for the long term. This Civic is a more practical & worry-free car than the RSX; however, the primary driver has decided to keep the RSX... So now, this Civic is an extra car and is up for sale or trade [for vintage guitar]. I personally paid $4500 for this car in May 2015 (at a local used car dealership); since then, I have spent over $2300 fixing this car. This car is a great daily driver & I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere, including cross country. You can find a cheaper Civic, but you may end up spending hundreds or thousands more in just a few weeks/months. I have already had the repair work completed on this car, & I am taking a $2500 loss at $4500. I have all the receipts for work that I had completed here in Asheville.
