Overview: Up for sale is a black 2009 Honda Civic Si Coupe. The car does have a rebuilt title but it runs perfectly and is in great condition, you would never know that this vehicle was previously damaged other than seeing "rebuilt title" listed on the title of the car. The car was involved in a low-impact accident in the front right corner in New Mexico with around 4,000 miles. It required a new bumper and front right fender (all Honda replacement parts). The insurance company primarily totaled out the car due to it suffering a good amount of scratches on the body of the car during the accident requiring it to need a new paint job. Paint jobs and body work rates to replace the mentioned parts caused this car to be totaled. Fortunately when you own a body shop (such as the individual I purchased the car from in California) you can repair cars like these at cost which is significantly less than an outside person going to a body shop to have the work done. The car was repaired and inspected in the state of California to bring the title to "rebuilt" status and deemed safe to travel on the road and passed emissions tests. I purchased the vehicle when it had 5,000 miles in November 2009 from a body shop out of California that specializes in bringing damaged Honda vehicles back to their original condition. My family has also purchased a 2006 Honda S2000 (in 2010) and 2008 Honda Accord (in 2009) that were also previously totaled from the same body shop, and we still have all of these vehicles today and they run excellently with no issues. Vehicles with rebuilt titles are an excellent way to receive a good deal on a car that may otherwise be unaffordable. The only difference between this car and a “clean title” Civic are the words “rebuilt” on the title. People are shocked to hear that this car has a rebuilt title because you can’t tell the difference. I have put nearly 42,000 miles (current mileage is at 47,118) on this 2009 Civic Si over a six year period with primarily just standard maintenance. I have no doubts towards the integrity and condition of this vehicle. The car has no frame damage or remaining issues from the accident six years ago. I am simply selling this vehicle because I needed & purchased something with four doors (Honda, of course). Specifics: The car has a rebuilt title in the state of Illinois currently and I have the title in hand with no liens on the car. Some may have questions regarding being able to insure a car with a rebuilt title. I have full coverage through State Farm on this vehicle, your state/insurance company may differ but from what I have seen most states and insurance companies will insure a car with a rebuilt title. The car itself is in great condition both mechanically and cosmetically. There are some nicks/scuffs/scratches as to be expected with a used car. I have pictures of almost every mark on the car to fully disclose every known issue. I like to point out each and every flaw with the vehicle so the buyer knows exactly what he or she is going to receive instead of discovering flaws after the fact. I previously sold my 1997 Honda Del Sol in August of 2012 on eBay so have previous experience in successfully describing and selling a car via eBay (you can view the positive feedback received from this transaction in my feedback). The mileage on this car should not change much, if at all, as I am now driving my new car. This car has been driven on numerous road trips to/from Chicago and Milwaukee (200 mile trip each way) and various places in Indiana around 200-300 miles each way with no issues. I drove the car with no issues to and from a 1,000 mile trip each way to Texas in May 2011. I would not hesitate driving this car across the country. I have all receipts/records on the vehicle since I have owned it and have the oil changed approximately every 3,000 miles. The car had a new clutch installed with 22,113 miles (11/05/11) on it at a Honda dealership in Joliet, IL. I was driving the car up to Chicago and stopped at a gas station to fill up the tank. I then started the car and it would not move. There was no indication at all on the trip driving up or before of the clutch going-out. I believe the car just had a bad throw-out bearing as it seemed the clutch just would not engage when I was attempting to leave the gas station. I was in no position to shop around or have another opinion after being towed into the dealership in a town I was not familiar with, so I had a full new clutch, throw-out bearing, and fly-wheel installed to be sure. The car also had a 4 wheel alignment when this was performed. It still drives straight and true. In May of 2015 I installed a new K&N in-cabin air filter that is able to be cleaned and reused for the life of the car. There are no leaks coming from the car, the heat and A/C work flawlessly, and the interior of the car is in great shape. The car has never been smoked in and has no rips or tears on the interior. The only flaws on the interior is that the sun visors on the passenger and driver sides had a plastic piece break internally (design flaw) that causes them to hang awkwardly when flipped down and not flip up correctly. I simply put a hardly-noticeable zip tie on each one and it completely solved the issue (please see photo for this). The car has sat almost its entire life in covered parking: at home it is parked in the garage and I have covered parking at work. The car will however sit outside until it sells due to not enough garage space. There is, however, a spot on the dashboard on the passenger side that is starting to slightly fade (I think it is from my wife putting her feet up on road trips, grrrr!). I attempted to photograph this fading and included a picture of it in the listing, I notice it but I feel like others may not. The car has a 350 watt factory sound system that sounds incredible. There is also an auxillary port and iPod hookup in the vehicle. I also installed an aftermarket Bluetooth device (Kinivo is the brand) for hands free calling and music/GPS abilities without having to have an aux cord plugged in. I had new brake pads installed on the front brakes of the car in November of 2014, as well as a brand new rotor installed on the driver’s front side and had the passenger front side’s rotor re-grooved. The battery is almost five years old, but I have had no issues in starting the car at all. There is currently one fog light that has burned out; I have the replacement bulbs I just need to get around to installing it. I cannot guarantee that it will be changed out before it is sold; it just depends on when the car is purchased. The car has the back two windows tinted and rear window tinted with darker tint (not sure the exact % but I would guess around 10%-20%) and none on the front windows. The wheels have been powder-coated with a charcoal color that matches the black paint very nicely. They are the original OEM Honda wheels, just powder-coated to differentiate this Civic from others; there are some nicks/wear on the powder coating from use over time (photos are included of all 4 wheels). The car has also been lowered approximately 1-2" with I believe Tein springs (not 100% sure if they are or not, I honestly cannot remember). The body shop I bought the car from installed the springs before I purchased it. There have been no issues with the wheels rubbing or hitting the wheel well. The lowering springs are the only aftermarket part on the car. The front bumper does sit a couple inches off of the ground and has a couple nicks from large drop-offs going out of parking lots but it just takes some getting used to to prevent touching the bumper on the ground. The car comes with an unused spare in the trunk. The front and rear bumpers do have some normal scratches/scuffs from other cars bumping into or tapping while parking (pictures included). The rear driver’s side of the rear bumper has a couple white marks and more noticeable scratches from what appears to be a license plate that pressed into it (a picture is included of this). Also on the very bottom left side of the back bumper there is a piece of the bottom bumper that was broken off by a strap when I had the car transported to me from California. It is very noticeable in the picture but not so much so in person as it sits almost entirely underneath the car. The hood of the car does have some rock chips on it as can be seen in the pictures. I have not touched these spots up but have maintained a layer of wax over them, as with the entire vehicle. Tires: The tires on the car are all 17” Kuhmo Ecsta ASTs. All tread measurements are taken from the point on the tire with the lowest tread so as to not overstate tread depth. Driver’s side front: 6/32” Driver’s side rear: 7/32” Passenger’s side front: 7/32” Passenger’s side rear: 7/32” Buying: If you have any questions at all please ask before using the buy it now. I included some pictures of the scratches/scuffs but I have many more pictures available at any request (this includes the pictures with any/every flaw on the vehicle) and am more than happy to discuss the vehicle at more length with serious buyers. You can run your own Kelly Blue Book or valuation report, but modestly from a private party in good condition this vehicle is priced at $13,100. I do not charge any bogus fees or charges like some other sellers or dealers. I fairly priced the car to account for the rebuilt title status. Again, you would never know the car has a rebuilt title unless someone told you or you looked at the title. The price is negotiable, but I will not be open to any trades, low-ball offers, or shenanigans. Serious buyers only! Payment: A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours after using the buy it now or best offer option via PayPal or wire transfer to secure the car. The remaining balance will be due within 7 days, or upon pickup, or before it is shipped out via a wire transfer or cash in person and the money clears the bank (I can definitely work with you on a time-frame if you are planning on picking it up or need additional time). Please note that this deposit is refundable if you use the buy it now or best offer and come see the car and decide that it is not as I have it listed. It is non-refundable if you make the deposit and then cannot come up with the remaining balance within a reasonable time-frame. I am looking to avoid non-paying buyers and am willing to work with reasonable individuals on deposit amounts & timeframes. Please contact me if you are truly interested! Car is being sold as-is in the condition as described above. Please feel free to contact me with any serious inquiries or questions regarding the car. Thank you.
