This 2001 Honda Insight is in very nice condition! The battery pack has been replaced, wired with a grid charger harness and discharger harness, and cycled regularly. The transmission has been serviced and does not grind at all, in any gear, up or down, at any speed. I have done a lot of work and restored a lot on this insight, both mechanically and cosmetically. Some of which includes: paint, all underbelly panels, headlights, wiper arms and wipers, seat covers, shampooed ALL carpeting, seats and door panels, window switches, window regulator, center net, transmission service, transmission fluid, egr plate cleaning, egr valve, plugs, correct size 165/65/14 tires, rear wing, side mirror, rear view mirror, interior door handles, speakers, floor mats, rear hatch release, pedal covers, exterior door trim, etc, etc. Everything done with genuine Honda parts. The car has a clean carfax report, and has never been in an accident. It has all original body panels with matching VIN numbers on every panel. This car has been very well maintained. I have a clean and clear transferable New York State title in hand, with no liens. NY State inspected. Perfectly running engine and transmission. Both fully serviced. The car is perfectly stock, minus only the addition of HID headlights (which are a vast improvement over stock,) and the grid charger harnesses. Everything on this car is correct and now works exactly as it should! Can you buy a cheaper insight? Yup. But be prepared to spend a lot of money and time with the common and expensive battery replacement issues, transmission grind/replacement needed issues, interiors and carpets being trashed, seats worn thru, paint/body issues, previous accident history, and all the other common stuff. This one is all done and only needs a driver! This is where the old saying "You get what you pay for" holds true! This Insight is as reliable as can be. I'd have no problem jumping in this insight and driving out to California today! When taken care of, these Insights always get 300k or more miles, lifetime-wise. I've seen some with 400k and even 440k on ebay, with the original engines! Super lightweight (1800 lbs,) and super aerodynamic, the first generation Honda Insight 5-speed holds the mpg record even today, with epa ratings of 61 city and 70 highway! No other car comes close, even today! Last summer, I averaged 73 mpg, city and highway combined! Suprisingly roomy inside, with lots of room in the hatch area and trunk area, as well. If you do a lot of driving, and can get by with a 2 seater, you cannot beat it! And, these cars bodies and frames do not rust, as they are all aluminum construction! Stock AM/FM/cassette player, owner's manual, and the keyless remote are included, too. The car is wired for the grid chargers I build (see ebay item #301705874122.) Occasional grid charging (and discharging) helps the health of the battery and prolong it's life.) The other mods I build and offer can be installed also (clutch interrupt circuit, throttle smoothing circuit, brake regen circuit, etc.) See them and read about each and their advantages in my ebay store. I have extensively gone over every square inch of this insight too, and repaired and replaced everything it needed, including cosmetic parts that weren't up to my standards. It needs nothing now, and looks, drives, runs, and shifts great! Perfectly tuned and averages over 70 mpg. Fresh Mobil 1 0w-20 oil, honda filter, and trans fluid changed too. This 2001 Honda Insight is in good condition! The engine runs perfectly and has been very well maintained. The battery pack is so-so, but nothing that the clutch interrupt circuit and my grid charger doesn't help at regular intervals. The transmission has the typical 2nd gear grind, but doesn't stop you from getting into and out of 2nd gear easily, and can be almost fully avoided it you let the rpm's drop for a second prior to the upshift. It could use a good detailing. This insight has all the underbelly panels with it. No rips or tears in the seats. I've replaced the steering wheel, window switches, rear trunk actuator, serviced the transmission linkage and shifter and replaced knob, egr plate cleaning, egr valve, plugs, correct low rolling resistance bridgestone re92 tires with good tread, dash surround, steering wheel, am/fm/in dash cd player, speakers, new brakes, new catalytic converter, etc, etc. Everything done with genuine Honda parts. All original Honda glass, including the windshield. Perfect floor carpets underneath the mats, even on the driver's side. I've also added the clutch interrupt circuit, the regenerative braking circuit, and wiring harness for the grid charger, etc, etc. The car has a clean carfax report, too. No dents. No check engine lights. I'd have no problem jumping in this insight and driving out to California today! These Insights seem to last forever.
