Daily driver, reliable Honda Accord. Non smoking vehicle. The engine starts reliably, runs well, there is no vibration or pulling at any speed, or upon braking, and the 5 speed manual transmission and clutch are quiet, smooth and show no signs of slipping. This car has never been in an accident. - other than some minor parking lot dents which are pictured and are described below. For sale by original owner who has been dealing on ebay since 2003 with 100% positive feedback. I have both bought and sold vehicles occasionally so you can find feedback related to prior vehicle sales mixed in. We are the original owners, and while the title history shows transfers this vehicle has always been kept in the family. For several years it was used as a spare car at a second vacation home in Austin as we were working overseas. Upon our return to the US, I used this vehicle during 2014 for six months as a weekly commuting vehicle, driving back and forth to IAH approximately 45 miles each way and then parking at the airport for 3-4 nights at a time. It got me reliably back and forth and I never had a breakdown or trouble starting. For the last two months it has been my daily driver on I-10 in Houston Energy Corridor rush hour traffic. I bought a new vehicle last week and we no longer have a need for this car. We have kept this car for a long time for sentimental reasons because it was a family gift, purchased new in 1989. It has extremely low mileage for its age (averaging 6000-7000 miles per year), with plenty of years of reliable service remaining. The car has been properly maintained by a family of engineers with oil changes and other preventative maintenance regularly kept up. Last oil change was ~1500 miles ago, and while the tires have been on the car for a few years they show no uneven wear and still appear to have >50% of wear remaining (see photos). Battery was replaced within the last couple months. The AC was overhauled and refit to run on modern refrigerants a few years ago - it blows very cold and has only needed a bit of refrigerant charge added once in the past several years. The vehicle was almost always garage kept. When outdoors, it was kept shielded from the elements with a car cover (primarily for 4 years during university days), but otherwise has been garaged for almost its entire life. Many of the miles on the vehicle are from long highway treks back and forth between California, Washington state, and Texas. This car has never seen snow or winter conditions, and has always been kept in moderate climates. I will attempt to describe the vehicles shortcomings as I know them, and will do that as accurately as possible, however keep in mind this is a 25 year old car. While it's a reliable driver, and starts up consistently, it is not a new car nor is it a restored show car and the condition will reflect that. Exterior Condition Notes: While overall the car looks reasonably good as seen in the photos, on close examination you should expect to find numerous rock chips, a dozen or so small rust spots (surface only), small scratches, rub marks etc consistent with the age and mileage of the vehicle. There are also a few visible dents from minor dings picked up in parking lots and from people backing into the vehicle etc - we couldn't justify fixing these as they were just light bumps. Pictures show the most serious dent which is at the front quarter panel over right front wheel well where the body is pushed in an inch or so over an area the size of a basketball from a neighbor's careless backing up. Rear right passenger door also has a less visible dent from a parking lot mishap of some sort, and the rear roof line has a couple less noticeable 4" long linear creases where a 2x4 fell on the roof from a few feet overhead 10 years ago. Paint is a bit sunfaded from age, but looks decent as is and would probably shine up nicely with some rubbing compound. Overall, typical exterior condition for a 25 year old car with original paint. Interior Condition notes: The interior is in excellent condition with very few signs of wear on the upholstered seats, doors, knobs, dashboard etc. There are no odors, the car has never been smoked in. For most of it's life the front seats were covered to protect the seats below. Interior carpet has also been kept covered with mats and has some wear but is still in good condition with a large number of small stains that would likely clean up if shampood - there are no major stains. Front dash was kept covered with a custom dashboard cover, so has not been exposed to sunlight to any extent and looks new. Rear speaker grills are sunfaded. The cigarette lighter is missing - we used it as a power plug for accessories. Operating Condition notes: Known problems with the vehicle are mostly minor, but I will list them all. I encourage you to have a test drive or get a mechanic to check over the car if you want to verify everything. Known problems:1. The car has always idled noticeably fast. We have tried a number of things with the choke and carburetors under mechanic's recommendations over the last 20 years to adjust this idle slower but it starts to stall out if the idle isn't kept fast. So the engine feels like it's racing a bit when it's sitting idle, especially when first started.2. Rear trunk latch is a little stiff, and the trunk has to be slammed pretty hard to get it to catch and latch closed. You sometimes will need to move the jaws of the latch with your finger to get it in position to catch before closing the trunk.3. Motorized power antenna on roof only moves up and down with your hand - won't travel up on its own.4. Trip odomoter won't reset to zero - the reset knob is very stiff and it's nearly impossible to get it to reset the trip odo to zero.5. Depending on whether the car is set on fresh air or recirculated air, there is a bit of whistling sound from the ventilation system when driving at highway speeds only. This can be stopped by switching modes from fresh to recirc or vice versa. The sound is not loud and you might not notice it unless it was pointed out to you.6. A car alarm is installed but we can't verify whether it works - we have the remotes but got tired of it and haven't used it in 10+ years.7. Power mirror on the passenger door needs to be adjusted by hand.8. Dashboard LED clock keeps time, but the digits fade out and are hard to see about half the time. Sold as-is, no warranty. I welcome test drives - and expect to sell this locally to a buyer in the immediate area. Please contact me via email to discuss a time for test drive. I will not ship the vehicle - you must come to Katy Texas to pick it up, so please bid accordingly. I will refund the $500 deposit and cancel the sale prior to final payment, if you obtain a mechanics inspection and are not satisfied with the report. Once final payment is made and the title is signed over the sale is final and there will be no refunds.
