*****Clear Title, Title in Hand.****** Hello, quick story on this 1984 Dodge Daytona 2.2L Turbo Z. I purchased this vehicle this year about 5 months ago in April of 2015 from a guy in Colorado. I learned from the owner that the vehicle had been sitting and was not driven very often, and everything was all original. Minus a few things. I learned from the owner from Colorado, that the transmission at one point was rebuilt, and a new clutch put in it. I learned from him that the engine was serviced, but still original. The vehicle needed some TLC, so I decided to purchased and had it shipped. I got the vehicle registered and it passed all emissions. After a couple of months of driving it back and forth to work on a regular basis.... I wanted to restore the vehicle.....well until about three months into owning the vehicle that is. In early July, my wife announced to me that she was pregnant with not one, but two at the same time. Needless to say, priorities come first. Not only do we need a bigger car, but a new home........So I have to sell this beauty. I will indicate all the knowledge I have about this vehicle for the short time that I have owed it. This auction is for a used 31 year old vehicle, that will need work. I will describe the vehicle to the best of my knowledge, and to all implied and therein to the sale of the vehicle. I will be selling this vehicle in a "AS-IS" condition, there is NO warranty expressed or implied to this auction. The winner and purchaser of this vehicle accepts the vehicle in the stated condition to the my knowledge of this vehicle and anything forward upon receipt. Please feel free to ask any questions regarding this vehicle. I will be more than welcome to answer. As to the following of the condition of this vehicle expressed to the best of my knowledge............ Exterior Condition: This 1984 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z is two-tone. The upper color is a maroon/burgundy and the lower color is silver. The silver is in good condition with minor scratches, and chips. The front grill center where the license plate is centered broke and is in the vehicle, it needs to be repaired. The maroon color (as scene in photos) is in pretty good condition on the front, back and sides, minus scratches, minor dings, and the top roof, hood and back has sun-oxidation. Very typical for a 31 year old vehicle. The vehicle needs to be repainted, all scratches, and dings repaired. The passenger side mirror housing is broken, but I ordered a good used condition mirror complete, that needs to be installed. Interior Condition: The interior of the vehicle has a clean dash. The upper dash does not have any cracks and looks good for age. The floor is in good condition, but it needs to be cleaned, steamed cleaned, maybe. The rear seats are intact, and need to be cleaned as well. The front seats are in good condition, minus the driver side seat bottom section that has a tear in it (see photos). The trunk is in good condition, it comes with trunk cover as well. The trunk carpet looks good, with what appears to be an unused spare tire, also has jack with crowbar/lug wrench. The interior trunk light works, the back speaker work, but the carpet covering was missing when I purchased it. The front speakers work, also did not come with carpet covering over the speaker grills. The vehicle has power locks, power windows...all switches for the power windows and power locks work. The driver seat is powered, and also works. No issues. The radio works and saves stations, but the buttons are starting to loose its responsiveness, and crackles sometimes when turned up high. The a/c controller works, all buttons work, but the frame that holds the a/c controller is cracked, and causes the a/c controller to move. The dash lights work, the headlights work, the emergency flasher works, the front and rear wipers work, and have been replaced with new ones. The vehicle has voice command, which works as well. The oil gauge, gas gauge, temp gauge, battery gauge and the tachometer works. The speedometer works, but speedo-cable needs to be replaced, I broke the clip at the end of the cable, when I replaced the dash circuit board after I got it. The circuit board was old, and all gauges were malfunctioning, so I replaced the circuit board. Parking brake works as well. The A/C works, it fluctuant hot/warm. I have not touched the A/C at all. I do believe it needs to be flushed out and serviced. The weather stripping around the doors, and trunk are in okay condition with tears at the bottoms at the doors, the trunk one is pretty good I would recommend to replace them down the road. The headliner needs to be replaced, falling down. Very common. Old age. Under the Hood/Engine Compartment: (78511 original miles) The vehicle does not smoke out the exhaust, the engine does not burn oil as far as I can tell. The vehicle ran very well, except for a rough idle upon start for a minute or two. The transmission shifts beautifully in my opinion. I did not have any problems with it. The power steering works, and I do not see and or observed any leaks. I have replaced the battery (08/2015), replaced the idle air control sensor (06/2015) and with a new connector, replaced PVC value (08/2015) , replaced air filter (08/2015), replaced thermostat (06/2015), and replaced upper radiator hose (06/2015), replaced spark plugs (04/2015). I started to notice a minor oil leak in the oil pan (by the front crankcase), and value cover gasket leak in late June, early July. It appeared that the original gaskets needed to be replaced. I have parts that are brand new that will come with vehicle, just need to be installed. I have a NEW lower radiator hose, all NEW drive belts, minus timing belt that need to be installed. I decided to purchase a new water pump, new full gasket set (head gasket and conversion set aka upper and lower) and headbolt set. On the morning off 08/19/2015 at approx: 0700 hours, I started the car, started to back out, and I smelt antifreeze. I pulled the vehicle back into my parking space, opened the hood and noticed that I had developed a head-gasket leak on the back side of cylinder #1 by the drive-belts. I immediately turned off the vehicle, and it has not moved since. I did not want to damage the engine. It appears that the original head gasket has split by cylinder #1, it leaked some antifreeze out between the block and head, and inside as well. I have not had it diagnosed. The car ran great before the original gaskets started to leak. The vehicle does not display any engine codes on the dash as well since 08/19/2015. Suspension/Under-carriage/Drivetrain/Brakes/lightning: The front struts and rear shocks need to be replaced. I have purchased MOOG front performance springs, and Monroe Formula GP front struts and rear shocks for the vehicle, still new in box, not installed. The CV shafts are in good condition and work, no weird noises, that I can tell. The under-carriage is in good condition for the age, I do not see any rust. The brakes work well. I did not feel any vibration when depressing the brakes while driving. The front headlights were replaced (04/2015). All exterios lights work. Extras: I have the original Daytona rims (honeycomb version I think), plus great condition black mo-mo rims that are installed on the car. I also have a full-size spare and a brand new tire on the spare as well. I have catalogs, manuals, and posters of this year vehicle that will come with vehicle. Summary: I have described the vehicle to the best of my ability during the short time that I have been in ownership of this vehicle. Please remember this is a used 31 year old vehicle, and have described any and all concerns regarding this vehicle and its condition that I have knowledge of. When purchasing a old vehicle there are possibly unknown issues that may arise, in which, I, the seller are a private individual and I'm selling this vehicle in a "AS-IS" condition, no warranty expressed or implied. I wish I could keep the vehicle, but I can not. I have to save for a new home, and a bigger vehicle for the start of my new family. I'm very excited, but I wish I could keep the vehicle as well. I have documentation that was given to me upon when I purchased that I will pass along, plus receipts of the parts that I purchased for the vehicle as well, those installed and not installed. Please feel free to ask any questions you may like and I will try to answer to the best of my ability. Shipping: The buyer of the vehicle can either come pick up the vehicle, have the vehicle towed, and or have the vehicle shipped by a shipping company the buyer chooses. The buyer/winner of the auction will have the sole responsibility to have the moved, shipped from my location. Payment: PAYPAL payment. I accept money-transfer, credit card and cash through Paypal.
