Hello, I am selling my 2001 VW Golf TDI. I purchased it over a year ago in Colorado from a dealer, and converted it to run on vegetable oil with a Greasecar Kit, which I will detail below. I worked for several years as a professional Greasecar Installer and have completed over 30 conversions, as such this one has a few bonus components. The vehicle can run on diesel or vegetable oil independently. The car drives great and incredibly smoothly, like a pad of butter sliding across a hot frying pan. I have routinely gotten in it and driven it for 1000 miles straight without issue. I have service records for the vehicle going back to 75,000 miles, the vehicle was maintained by a professional TDI mechanic in Colorado, one of 3 in the state who specializes in TDI's. He maintained the vehicle for me, as well as the previous owner. The vehicle was maintained excellently as is detailed below. I never skimped on the maintenance of this car, and searched long and hard before I decided to buy it. As a mechanic who has owned 20+ diesels in his life, I feel this is a very strong car with many miles left in it. I have driven this car coast to coast several times, from California to Maine, it is an extremely smooth car on the road, and fun to drive. The upgraded injectors give it quite a kick. A similar vehicle with 20K more miles just sold from Greasecar for $7,500 The following maintenance has been done since I have owned the car-replaced Turbo-upgraded Sprint Injectors-replaced EGR-Replaced Timing Belt, Water Pump, and rollers (full kit)-Installed Greasecar Kit-Installed Curtis Tow Hitch-New Mass airflow sensor-New Fuel Injector pump seals-inspected with VCDS on regular intervals-Compression test, showing all cylinders at optimal 44 bar across the board- injector test with all fuel injector contributions within spec- New windshield 3,000 miles ago Other Features- Heated Seats- Heated Side Mirrors- In Dash GPS and DVD Player- Curtis Tow Hitch with 1 7/8 ball The Greasecar KitThe Greasecar kit is a standard VW kit, with 3 position switch, and an added Co Pilot setup. The 3 position switch controls the switching from diesel to vegetable oil and purge mode, the co pilot was added to independently be able to monitor the coolant and fuel temperatures from additional sensors under the hood. In my experience i have had issues with copilot computers not switching valves properly, hence the 3 position switch control. I'm selling the car because its not large enough to haul all of my equipment for work, and I need to upgrade to a Jetta or Passat TDI, plus I have 3 other vehicles.
