1979 GMC Sierra 2500 Camper Special 4x4 350 Automatic with A/C. I have owned this truck for over 20 years and bought it from the original owners wife after he died. Only 95,300 original miles. The original owner clearly loved this truck and I was told he took it in 1991 with about 51,000 miles to Winchester Truck Corporation located in Ritzville Washington. Winchester was a GM truck builder/restorer that focused on early 1970's to early 1980's GM trucks, suburbans, and Blazer like vehicles. They pulled the body off the frame and went through everything. Owners wife did not know a lot of the details but did say the truck looked very nice when it went to Winchester but came out looking like a new truck including new paint. Owner also had Winchester add many custom touches... polished wheels, tubular grille, bed liner, brushed stainless dash, sun visor, manual front hubs and custom interior work. When I got the truck in 1995 with 65,000 miles it still looked almost like a new 1979 but I did drive it for two years to work and back so while the truck stills looks unbelievable for a 37 year old truck understandably it does show some signs of driving wear. The bed is lined and both the body and bed are exceptionally straight since the truck has never been wrecked and the only thing ever hauled in the back was dirt bikes. Winchester went out of business in the mid 90's and information on Winchesters is scarce. I found out from another Winchester owner that they provided a build sheet plus a verification letter for each truck but I never got any paperwork when I bought it, and have come up empty handed trying to get paperwork, so truck is sold with this in mind and in "as is" no warranty condition. See for yourself in the pictures this is a nice straight truck and drives as good as it looks. I had a stereo installed, replaced the front seat cover with an OEM cover due to a screwdriver in my pocket ripped a hole, also had the muffler replaced due to the insides started to rattle a few years ago. I seldom drive it and want to give up my indoor storage. People are amazed when they see this 37 year old truck and always have compliments. I am not interested in trades and not all that motivated to sell but the time has come to let it go.
