Don\'t look now, but clean pickups like this 1984 GMC High Sierra are gaining some momentum in the marketplace. A lot of guys grew up around trucks just like this and fondly remember the days of square bodywork and traditional V8 horsepower, making good ones highly-sought collectors\' items today. This gorgeous blue pickup is no exception. The paint and bodywork were restored about eight years ago, and it still looks awesome. Unlike so many vehicles in 1984, this one got some timeless colors that still look great today and were accurately reproduced in modern urethanes when the time for a repaint finally arrived. Factory style two-tone gives it a longer, sleeker profile, but there\'s no denying that the GM pickups of this era were great-looking vehicles. This one has led a good life, too, with straight sheetmetal, good gaps, and a shine that\'s probably better than 1984 paint could muster. A billet grille makes the front end look a little bit custom, but with big, red GMC lettering, there\'s no escaping what kind of truck this is. There\'s a rubber bed mat and what might be original paint underneath, showing that this truck never really worked very hard but doesn\'t mind putting in a long day now and then. All the original brightwork remains, including some really nice chrome bumpers, a diamond-plate tailgate protector, and oversized mirrors. The largely original interior offers handsome and plush blue upholstery to tie in perfectly with the exterior, and it\'s all in very good condition, especially considering its age. The instrument panel offers a complete array of gauges that are all fully functional, all visible through the spokes of a custom leather-wrapped Grant steering wheel with a GMC horn button to make it look OEM. You\'ll also note factory A/C, which was recently serviced and converted to R-134a, and a vented rear window for the more mild days. The entertainment system is about the only part that isn\'t stock, with the factory radio being replaced by a Pioneer AM/FM/CD head unit in the original location. A set of heavy-duty floor mats protect the plush blue carpets (unusual for a pickup) and there\'s an aftermarket cup holder in the dash that\'s a sorely needed upgrade for those of us who actually drive our toys. The 350 cubic inch V8 engine appears to be a replacement block installed sometime I the truck\'s past. It\'s not stock, however, and now sports the usual upgrades that include an Edelbrock intake manifold and Holley 4-barrel carburetor, chrome valve covers and air cleaner, and some bright ignition wires. It\'s got a clean, well-maintained look although it\'s not a show truck, and with power steering and brakes, it\'s easy to handle regardless of the load. A 700R4 4-speed automatic gives it long legs, so you can turn up the A/C and unwind without listening to the engine screaming at you and the 2-speed transfer case allows it to climb through the slop without working hard. A dual exhaust system gives it a nice rumble and upgraded shocks were part of the 2.5-inch lift that gives it that towering stance. Handsome Pro-Comp polished aluminum wheels are recent additions and wear fat 32x11.50-15 BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A radials. Don\'t underestimate the appeal of these full-sized trucks, which not only look great, but are fantastic drivers, and this one is nicer than most. Call today! This 1986 GMC Sierra Classic 1500 provides affordable fun, classic appeal, and truck practicality in a package that has muscular swagger. If you\'re looking for a trustworthy hardware hauler that you don\'t mind putting to work but want to have fun while standing out from the rest, keep reading. The \'square-body\' third generation C/K truck line presented brawny styling and a rugged attitude that still appeals to GM truck fans today. That burly body is rendered in correct Steel Gray Metallic and has been highlighted with some custom aesthetics. Upfront is a horizontal grill that adds a nice touch to the truck and looks very cool with the chrome bumper and dual vertical bars. A cowl hood with faux hood pins further enhances the appeal with a muscular look. When you\'re ready to put this brute to work, you can count on a 6\' truck bed that has been lined with a durable bed liner. Another chrome bumper sits at the rear, tinted windows add contrast to the exterior, and aluminum Pacer wheels round things out for a true look that is ready for lumber hauling-duty, or Saturday night fun. The correct burgundy interior remains clean and gives the driver and passengers a comfortable environment. Soft burgundy cloth wraps the plush bench seat and is fitted with seat belts for three. The dash is straight, has a nice sheen, and has been topped with an AutoMeter tachometer and shift light. Factory instrumentation appears original with clear lenses, while controls for the air conditioning reside in the center of the dash above a Panasonic AM/FM/CD player that is XM capable with an auxiliary input. That head unit is wired to JL Audio speakers installed in the door with two JL Audio subwoofers mounted in an enclosed box behind the seat. Power door locks, power windows, and a tilt wheel are a few more factory options that add some modern convenience. Originally leaving the factory with a 305 cubic inch V8, this 1500 now sports a 350 cubic inch V8 that has had some minor upgrades. A chrome air cleaner tops an aftermarket carburetor that feeds air and fuel to the storied V8. When that air/fuel mixture is burnt, exhaust gasses exit out Hedman Hedders exhaust manifolds through a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. It creates a demanding sound that would certainly have you thinking a muscle car was taking off from the stop light instead of a pickup truck. Power is sent to a 3-speed automatic transmission, and considering the RPO codes of this truck shows it was equipped with 2.73 gears, it\'s probable they still reside in the rear end housing. With heavy duty springs out back, a front stabilizer bar, power steering, power brakes, and 275/60/15 front and 275/60/16 rear radials...this truck is just a blast to drive. Whether you\'re looking for a fun way to handle rigorous chores or cruise Main Street on a Saturday night, this 1500 is an affordable truck that is prepared for either.
