Up for sale is a very rare 1953 GMC 9100 dually grain truck survivor. I'm the third owner of this awesome truck from the Hay Lakes Alberta area. The original owner passed in 2002 after many years of caring for the truck and using it only in spring and fall (explains the low mileage) to haul seed and grain. When he passed his elderly neighbor bought the truck from the estate and drove the '53 into his Quonset. He used it very little for 10 years and as my father knew of him and the truck I was first to hear it was for sale. I did a lot of clean up and improvements to the truck since 2012 but can no longer store this survivor indoors, it's now sitting outside so looking to sell to a better home. The 235 cu in 6 (matching ser no) has been rebuilt and runs strong but as with all the old GM straight 6's the rear main leaks from lack of use and sitting idle. Has a fresh tune-up including all new plugs, points and plug wires along with all new hoses and antifreeze, includes the heater hoses and fan belt. Fresh oil and remote oil filter cartridge has also been changed, as have the trans and diff oil with new 80/90w. Still on the 6V system and has a new ignition switch with some upgraded wiring and a new battery. I have also upgraded all the rear taillights with brake/turn/tail along with changing the factory front park lights to new front signals as well have added West Coast style mirrors so very street friendly now. Front and rear brakes are recent same as with the 20" rubber and she has a rare vacuum brake boost assist, expensive option for 1953. Hand trans park brake also has recent pads and works perfect. The 4 speed manual is also a rare full syncro for 2, 3, 4 and not the standard crash box! Interior is like new with many new parts including the seat, head liner, visor, door panels and floor matt with under pad. All the gauges are in great shape and work along with the switches, the heater has a new variable speed fan control installed. Box has been redone inside and out and is original to the truck as is the hoist, built in Ontario and tags are in place as are all the door tags of the truck. Cab corners and floorboards are solid and rust free and both doors handles have been changed with locking handles and new keys. A rare survivor with low miles looking for a new home and a great deal with current Alberta registration and clear title. Contact me for more pics or info. Listed locally as well and no shipping is available. Pick up only after full payment has been made. Reduced price as I need to sell to start a new shop and open to offers. Thank you.
