Collapse About Us The Roberts family has a longstanding history of serving the automotive needs of Middle Tennessee. It would be a long journey for the Roberts Family before they would end up at their current location in Columbia, TN. Starting in 1945; Mr. Clyde Roberts began the family business by opening a Mobil Service Station & Garage with his sons Lyndal and Bay on the corner of West Commerce and Third Avenue in Lewisburg, TN (shown below). Â Shortly after the opening of the garage, Lyndal left the business to pursue other ventures. During the years of 1950-1955 the Roberts father-son team along with Stanley Thompson formed a used car business next to the old Baxter Garage on First Avenue in Lewisburg, TN. In 1956, afterÂ Â Mr. Clyde's retirement, Bay Roberts formed the Roberts Motor Company out of a building at 2nd Avenue also in Lewisburg, TN (shown below).
