With a strong-running 351 cubic inch V8, it's the Blue Oval's answer to the ubiquitous A-body. Better still, it's a bargain compared to its bowtie-wearing rivals and quite a bit rarer to boot! Handsome and restrained compared to its fastback siblings, this Torino GT hardtop adds a bit of formality to the performance game. All the Ford hi-po styling tricks are in place here, including the hood scoop, rocker panel stripes, and styled steel wheels, so there's no mistaking it on the street. It was restored a few years ago, so it's not super fresh, but the code 2 Light Yellow paint shines up beautifully and this is definitely a car with presence. There's a ton of sheetmetal in those quarter panels but it's all quite straight and crisply rendered and panel gaps are decent all around. You don't see these cars all that often, so you'll find a lot of enjoyment in the little stuff, from the grille and the matching insert in the hood scoop, and the lovely tail panel and tight-fitting bumper. A few touch-ups here and there prove that this car has been loved and the overall look is one of a machine that's led a good life and doesn't have to make any apologies. Basic black is a high-contrast look for the interior, which also features bucket seats and a console. The seats are in fantastic condition for their age, and we strongly suspect that everything inside is original, which is rather remarkable. The instrument panel offers a quartet of round gauge pods seeming to grow out of the dash pad and the gauges inside are in good shape, with interesting silver faces that still show up pretty well behind lenses that are only a little faded. The original AM radio is still in the dash, but it's been superseded by a Sony CD player in the glove box, a really neat trick that always works well on older cars like this. The door panels show Ford's intentions with the Torino (Grand Touring), and unlike the Mustang, this Torino is big enough to have a good-sized trunk without needing a fold-down rear seat. And speaking of the trunk, it's fitted with a reproduction plaid mat, full-sized spare tire with cover, and jack assembly for a very correct look. OK, the real reason this Torino GT is special can be found under the hood: a 351 cubic inch V8. It's been augmented by a Weiand intake manifold, Holley 4-barrel carburetor, and an aluminum radiator, but the rest appears to be pretty original. The stock look is augmented by a set of chrome valve covers and air cleaner lid, which also wears a reproduction decal. It's pretty tidy under the hood with easy service access, even with those long-tube headers. The 3-speed FMX transmission was rebuilt in September 2015, and the beefy 9-inch rear just shrugs it off when you hammer the throttle. A recent Flowmaster dual exhaust system gives it an awesome Ford small block sound and you'll be impressed by how tidy it looks underneath for a mostly original car. Classic styled steel wheels offer a more sporting look than plain old steelies and it wears 215/60/14 BFGoodrich T/A radials all around. Documented with an original owner's manual and maintenance records, this is a fun, affordable Ford that delivers in all the ways that matter. Who says Chevy guys get all the breaks? With a known ownership history from new, a high-quality restoration, and exceptional attention to detail, this is the Blue Oval equivalent of an LS6 Chevelle or a Six-Pack GTX. And with that in mind, the price shouldn't be that much of a surprise, because this is one serious Ford. The restoration was completed in 1999, but you'd never know it by looking at the car, as it still looks remarkably fresh. It was originally purchased by a Navy sailor in California and then shipped to Hawaii. The second owners were in Palm Springs, where it remained almost all its life. We believe that the mileage shown is correct and as I mentioned, the car is 100% matching numbers. During the 1999 restoration, the color was changed from code B Dark Maroon to a brighter light yellow that was also on the Ford color chart in 1970. The original flat hood was replaced with a correct Shaker setup, but otherwise the bodywork is untouched. That means original quarters, rockers, and floors, making this an incredibly solid, clean, straight car. Finish quality is what you'd expect on a car of this caliber and the contrast between the light yellow paint and the blacked-out hood is dramatic. Correct Cobra emblems, bright chrome bumpers, and other details make this a very accurate restoration. The code CF Ginger Turin Knit vinyl bucket seats is almost entirely original, which speaks to the quality of care this car has received. The carpets and front seat covers are new and the pieces are exact, so it looks correct throughout. This heavily-optioned SCJ offers a center console housing the Hurst T-handle shifter for the 4-speed, a full set of gauges (including the unusual factory tach) and an AM radio, pretty much the right pieces for a car designed to go fast in style. The three-spoke steering wheel looks fantastic with its woodgrained rim and a few bright pieces of trim on the console liven things up inside. The Torino offers a genuinely roomy back seat, so this is a muscle car with room for family and friends, and, of course, there's a mammoth trunk that includes a correct mat and full-sized spare tire. In fact, that may actually be the original Goodyear spare tire that came with the car! The engine is the original, numbers-matching 429 Super Cobra Jet V8, fully rebuilt to stock specs and thundering out a reported 335 horsepower. Of course, everyone knows that this figure was a gross under-statement, and even in stock form, it's formidable. The only notable change other than the Shaker hood scoop is an 800CFM Holley, a replacement for the original 780 CFM unit. Ford Blue on the engine block, finned valve covers, a correct rev limiter box, and even little stuff like the belts and hoses, all add up to a show-quality engine bay. The Drag Pack SCJ also includes a factory oil cooler and 4.30 gears and a Track-Lok in the 9-inch rear end, making this car a serious threat on the street. The undercarriage was stripped and professionally restored using red oxide primer and factory finishes throughout so it's exquisitely detailed. A correct dual exhaust system sounds mellow but racy and it sits exactly right on gorgeous 15-inch Magnum 500 wheels with staggered 235/60/15 front and 255/60/15 rear Goodyear tires. Documented with a Marti Report, receipts, and restoration photos, this is quite likely the nicest of its kind anywhere. Fast, beautiful, and with an awesome pedigree, this is a very rare find for Ford fans. On the other hand, it means you can get a heck of a lot of car, machines just like this 1971 Ford Torino hardtop, for not a lot of cash. You still get V8 power, big car comfort, and a muscle-bound look, it's just thousands cheaper. Sounds pretty good, right? Bright red is never a mistake on your muscle car, and there's a lot more than the asking price wrapped up in getting this Torino to look this good. The long, lean bodywork is trimmer and less bloated than the later '70s versions and it wears the bright red finish rather well. The massive quarter panels are very straight and gaps are good all around. The paint is certainly a newer re-spray, and a proper buff job will give it a deep shine that makes this Ford stand out in a sea of GM machinery. The blacked-out grille looks sinister approaching in the rear-view mirror and it's framed by a nicely finished chrome bumper that adds just enough sparkle to the front end. Out back it has an almost fastback profile, which made these cars a threat on the super speedways of the era, and a white vinyl top gives it a bright look with no surprises lurking underneath. The white interior appears to be almost entirely original and it remains in above-average condition. The seats in particular are nicely preserved and show only slight discoloration that's probably inevitable after four and a half decades. Black carpets are a great contrast and work well with the black dashboard, which is pretty much devoid of cracks and UV damage. The instrument panel houses a standard array of gauges, including a cool arched speedometer with auxiliary gauges underneath. You'll note that there's factory A/C tucked in there, although the blower motor isn't working but that's a relatively easy and inexpensive fix. The original radio is gone, but that means it's ready for the high-performance entertainment system of your choice and you won't have to undo someone else's hack work to install it. And for road trips, this Torino is hard to beat, with a spacious back seat and a massive trunk that's in absolutely great condition. The 302 cubic inch V8 was recently tuned and runs superbly. Remember that this is the legendary "5.0" so it's torquey and a lot of fun to drive. The carburetor was rebuilt, there are new valve cover gaskets, and a fresh voltage regulator was perched on the shock tower. The Ford Blue air cleaner and valve covers leave no mistake about the identity of this car and the original decals are still in place, suggesting a car that's led a very easy life someplace warm. It's paired with a C4 3-speed automatic transmission powering a 9-inch rear end, and judging by the seats of our pants, we're guessing there are 3.08 gears inside because it's very comfortable on the highway. The dual exhaust system sounds great thanks to a pair of glasspack-style mufflers and the floors are further proof of a life lived in a mild climate. Flashy Cragar mags are a period-perfect look and are stuffed inside 225/70/15 blackwall radials for a performance attitude. Affordable fun doesn't have to be some wheezy smog-choked car from the '80s, you can get genuine muscle in the form of this Torino for not a lot of cash. Take a relatively rare 1968 Torino GT hardtop (not a fastback!), add a splash of Cobra red paint, a great-running 289, and a lowered suspension and you get a full-sized party on wheels. Ford fans, this is the car you've been waiting for. This Torino originally wore a coat of 1960s Lime Gold, which was OK if you don't mind blending in, but when it was rebuilt and thoroughly updated a few years ago, it was drenched in spectacular Laser Red, which was the color used on the 2000 Cobra R models. The incredible finish shows off the long, clean flanks of the Torino, which turns out to be a great-looking car in bright red. Note the crisp crease running from nose to tail, the blacked-out hood with scoop, and the impressive attention to detail that keeps all the bright trim looking great and you have a car that's sure to attract a lot of attention. With that vivid red finish, you really can't hide bad bodywork, so the gaps are pretty tight, everything lines up well, and a good amount of time was invested in a cut-and-buff job to really make it shine. Most of the chrome was refinished, too, with shiny bumpers, beautiful taillights, and proud GT badges in the grille up front. The interior is pretty stock, which in a Torino means lots of room for everyone and luxurious accommodations. The black vinyl seat covers were replaced, along with the carpets and it all has a very OEM look. It's likely that the door panels are original, especially since the car comes from 28 years of single ownership, so good maintenance shouldn't be a surprise. The dash of the early Torinos is one of its best features, with four instrument pods ahead of the driver for the major functions and a fat aluminum steering wheel that's a lot better than the original skinny plastic piece. An AM/FM/CD stereo head unit was installed under the dash so nothing had to be cut up and it powers a set of speakers on the rear package shelf. The Torino was full-sized, so that means it includes a mammoth trunk with correct mats and a full-sized spare tire with jack. And as long as you're looking back there, check out how thorough the paint job was; there's not a trace of Lime Gold anywhere! The 289 cubic inch V8 was rebuilt in 2004, which was about 7000 miles ago, so it remains quite fresh. Always a favorite in the Mustang, it works equally well in the Torino where it makes all the right sounds and provides a torquey punch that makes it a lot of fun on the street. The engine itself was painted Laser Red to match the rest of the car, so it really stands out in the satin black engine bay and it's been topped by a set of chrome valve covers and an open-element air cleaner. The C4 3-speed automatic transmission behind it was rebuilt in November 2014 and includes a 2200 RPM stall torque converter, so it's punchy around town without being too aggressive. A custom Flowmaster exhaust system was created just for this car and it has the soundtrack of your favorite Fords of the past. With 3.00 gears out back, it's also an awesome highway cruiser whose ride is still pretty good despite the 3-inch lowering job with Eibach springs. Period perfect Torque Thrust wheels and 255/45/17 performance radials complement the modern resto-mod look. Didn't think a Torino could be this cool, right? Guess again, because this one delivers big performance and lots of eyeball appeal, all at a very affordable price. Instead, cars like this 1968 Ford Torino hardtop are finding new homes and greater appreciation from guys who love seeing the way the factory did it and appreciate the feeling of a car that hasn't been torn down and rebuilt. For that reason, this Torino remains a special car. We suspect that the car had a repaint some years back, as a result you get a car that looks great but you aren't afraid to drive anywhere. But even as-is, it looks suitably vintage and contributes to this car's very appealing no-nonsense look, which is what original cars are all about. Survival rates on hardtop Torinos must be incredibly low, since you just don't see many of these at shows and cruise nights, but there's no denying that it's a handsome car. Compared to the fastbacks and convertibles, it has a somewhat formal look accentuated by restrained use of chrome. And there's just nothing like the sound of those doors closing on an original car, which also offers good gaps on all the panels, a tight feeling going down the road, and excellent factory chrome that's been lovingly polished from day one by just four owners. There's no question that the interior is entirely original, and while there's some where, there's even more evidence that this car has been loved. Black upholstery works quite well with the gold paint, eliminating the problems with many late-60s color combinations. The split bench offers lots of space for road trips and you'd be shocked that a 2-door car would have so much room in back, but that's the beauty of full-sized comfort. The four round instrument pods give it an aggressive look, even if the dials inside are only monitoring the basics, and it's worth noting that everything works, including the original AM radio. The woodgraining on the dash still looks pretty good, the dash pad hasn't been cracked or burned by the sun, and while you can probably get reproduction upholstery, nothing quite measures up to OEM. Heck, even the driver's door panel doesn't even show a little depression where the driver's elbow might have been resting over the past 45 years. There's also a massive trunk outfitted with an original mat and an ancient bias-ply spare. The 390 cubic inch V8 provides effortless performance and is unquestionably the car's original, numbers-matching powerplant. Still wearing Ford Blue engine enamel, it has a smooth confidence that makes this car a pleasure to drive at any speed and once again, there's an intangible feeling in a well-maintained original car that you can't restore into a project. Routine maintenance pieces have been conscientiously replaced over the years, keeping the car mechanically sharp, but it has never needed internal engine surgery and drives superbly as a result. The 3-speed automatic transmission is unobtrusive in operation, letting the 390's torque do most of the work, and with 2.75 gears in the 9-inch rear, this is the car you want on your next road trip. The underside is unquestionably original, but it's all surface scale and road grime, not cause for alarm. Styled steel wheels add a sporty look and carry 235/60/14 white letter radials. Extensively documented with maintenance receipts, an owner's manual, original bill of sale, and title documentation, this awesome Torino survivor makes a great impression. If you decide to purchase from us, we require that you give us your complete name, address and phone numbers (home, office, mobile and fax) and a port of entry that handles containers. We do not ship vehicles open (RORO: Roll On Roll Off) due to risk of damage to vehicle and theft of parts. All international purchases must be paid by bank wire transfer in US Dollar funds only. Once we have received the funds, we will prepare the car for international shipment through one of our approved land and ocean carriers. We file all the necessary documents for export, deliver the car to a US port, secure it in containers and board an ocean carrier. We can land a vehicle to any port worldwide handling container traffic. We export cars regularly and are familiar with export requirements. You, or your agent, are responsible for Custom clearing the vehicle and registration in your own country.
