Owning a classic car is a something most people really enjoy. Here's your chance to own a stock looking classic thunderbird but enjoy the convenience of buying parts from a local parts store, modern air conditioning, engine and overdrive transmission and not having to buy a $25.00 bottle of Zinc additive for each oil change and a $9.00 bottle of lead substitute each time you fill up with gas because the engine was built in the 60's? how would you like to cruise this classic at 2/3 the RPM's of the stock eng/trans combination and get 18-22 + MPG not 8 or 10 have more horse power, weigh almost 500 pounds less then stock and handle a lot better? If so, this is the car for you. This is a New Mexico/ Arizona car its entire life, absolutely no rust and is rock solid. This car runs and drives beautifully and gets "thumbs up" every where it goes. The car had been stored for 32 years ( since 1983) in Phoenix with only 89805 original miles on it. A few tastefulll modifications have been done to the car. A wood grain interior trim was installed, the color was changed from black to white and as the 390 engine and transmission had already been removed and discarded before the car was purchased, it was decided to upgrade the entire drive train to a more modern,reliable, easy-to-maintain and fuel efficient engine and transmission. A 1992 Mustang GT HO engine ( 275 HP ) was converted to carburetor use with a 4 barrel manifold, early timing cover with mechanical fuel pump, 4 barrel carb, chrome oil pan, and new HEI distributor . Also for better gas mileage and driveability an AOD automatic overdrive transmission which was refreshed and mated to a brand new drive shaft with new u joints and custom column shift linkage was installed . A brand new dual exhaust system was installed. the car was sent to MAACO for their top of the line paint job were the original black color was changed to Wimbledon White. Also a brand new windshield with new weather stripping was installed, This work totaled $3,760.28 . The paint is guaranteed for 5 years, there was no rust or dents to be repaired. The body, frame, doors, floors , trunk are rock solid with no rust, ever. The car also has the optional spinner wheel covers with 3 spares included. The car has a brand new, never been charged , complete Classic Auto Air air conditioning and heating system installed with the upgrade Electric control box to work it A brand new Custom Autosound USA-230 am/fm radio was installed. The drivers and passenger seats were reupholstered and brand new carpeting installed. 4 brand new tires were installed along with new front shocks and air lift rear shocks, This work totaled $728.54. The car has a new rear differential pinion seal, the rear axle housing was completely flushed, cleaned out and fresh fluid added, brand new rear brakes, drums and cylinders. Brand new power steering pump, front end alignment, brand new ignition switch, brand new power brake booster and master cylinder. This work totaled $2,081.00 . Receipts for all the parts and work performed on the car are of course included. Just 3 months ago I installed a brand new heavy duty battery. The clear New Mexico title verifies the original mileage was 89805. I have put a total of 188 miles on the car .The car has always been garaged . The following is a listing of those things I am aware of that may need further work. The rear power windows dont work, I dont know if this is the switches, the wires or if the motors stuck after over 30 years of not being used. The radio antennae went missing at MAACO , The lower ball joints, according to the shop may need to be replaced but the car drives and steers fine, the top has the dealer spray-on top covering that may need to be repaired or replaced as it has areas that flaked off and have been painted over. The drivers' door panel has a crack in it. The trunk needs the trunk mat kit and cardboard side panel kit to finish it off. it is missing the spare tire and rim I will include a brand new complete set of door weatherstripping for you to install. I also will include a set of Thunderbird landau bars for the roof and a new back up light bezel and chrome trim. If you have a price in mind please text or call.
