It's a freshly built '32 Ford roadster with just 1286 shake-down and test miles on it. Obviously someone built their dream car, but something changed and here it is. Well, their loss is your gain, and you have a chance to own a brand-new, turn-key rod with a built 350, overdrive transmission, and an awesome look, all without the wait to build your own. The body is Brookville, so no real 1932 Ford roadsters were harmed in the construction of this gorgeous hi-boy roadster. If you're into hot rods, basic black has been a staple for years and looks simply amazing on the Ford's vintage shape. Fit and finish is spectacular, with beautiful gaps, super smooth body panels, and a gloss as deep and as black as a pool of oil. They went full traditional on the build, too, including a raked-backed roadster windshield, shaved door handles with exposed hinges, and round Pontiac taillights out back (although these are modern LED units). When you see it in person, you'll probably fall in love and you should prepare yourself for stoplight conversations from folks who want to know all about it. A billet insert in a '32 Ford shell along with chrome spreader bars gives the front end a familiar look, while the oversized headlights make this one distinctive. As an open car, leather upholstery is probably a smart choice when it comes to comfort and durability, and the traditional-looking bench seat wears beautiful tan hides that are handsome as well as practical. Matching tan door panels with vertical pleats are period-correct and tan carpets on the floor tie it all together nicely. The instrument panel is filled with classic white-faced Stewart Warner gauges with elegant art-deco pointers and a vintage font, and we like the leather face on the dash, which makes it feel elegant, not raw. A tilt column topped by a 4-spoke wheel makes it fairly easy to get comfortable, and the 700R4 4-speed automatic is managed by a Lokar shifter that's period-perfect. There's no rumble seat in this one, but rather a fairly spacious and usable trunk which has been fully upholstered to match the interior. There's also a nice-fitting black canvas top that not only helps with protection, but looks awesome doing it. With about 1900 pounds to haul around, the performance of the built 350 cubic inch V8 is explosive. It's got the usual components, including an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and a set of block-hugging headers, but the point in a car like this isn't all-out horsepower, it's balance. It starts quickly and easily, idles nicely, and pulls hard, especially considering the lightweight body it's pulling. Of course, it's dressed in lots of chrome and polished aluminum trim and sits low in the chassis for improved handling. The headers feed a custom exhaust system that sounds like history, and the chassis has been painted and detailed to match the body. Neither the front nor rear suspensions reinvent the wheel, offering a dropped I-beam up front and trailing arms on the 3.70-geared 9-inch out back. Front disc brakes are a good idea on something that generates this much speed, and they look great behind those vintage alloys with 155/80/15 front and 285/70/15 rear BFGoodrich T/A radials. Fully sorted with just test and tune miles, this Deuce is ready to rock. Better yet, it's titled as a 1932 Ford, so no hassles when you get it home. Why build your own, this one is available right now! Professionally built, it has a sinister look that still speaks to the past and with a gorgeous interior full of creature comforts, including A/C, this isn't the kind of car that's a hardship to drive. The body is fiberglass but the nose and grille are steel, but you'd never know the difference without rapping your knuckles on it. Like the purest of the early hot rods, this one is stripped down to the bare essence, a bullet for the street that's only shaped like a '32 Ford. The black paint is beautifully done, really nice, and with only 2132 miles on the build, it's still extremely clean and fresh. We like the painted radiator shell and grille insert, the laid-back windshield, and the low-slung headlights, all of which make it look fast just sitting still. But then there are elegant details like the Pontiac taillights, relocated grille (more on that in a moment), and neatly louvered hood that suggest someone chose his components very carefully. It's just beautifully built and everywhere you look you can see the result of hours and hours of craftsmanship. If a subtle black rod can be a show-stopper, this is it. The tan leather interior breaks no new ground, but again, it's the details that matter most. Moving the grille forward means that everything can be moved forward, making this one of the most spacious roadsters we've ever seen. The bench seat matches the custom side panels, all of which are pleated to resemble upholstery from the past. On the floor, you'll find nicely tailored carpets that are piped in the same tan hides for a very upscale look that isn't over-done. A 4-spoke steering wheel resembles a track roadster piece and sits on a tilt column, so it's easy to get comfortable in the low-slung cockpit. Beautiful gauges in an engine-turned panel are pure race nostalgia and if you look closely, you'll see a Vintage Air control unit under the dash, because this roadster is air conditioned for maximum comfort! There's also a custom CD player and speakers behind the seat in its own fold-down compartment, and it actually sounds pretty good even with the wind whipping past. And while it's not exactly huge, there's a good-sized trunk that's carpeted to match the interior and leaves no unfinished edges to distract from the overall presentation. Power comes from a good old 350 cubic inch ZZ4 crate motor. It's brand new, but you'd hardly know it by looking under the hood, because it's dressed to impress with finned valve covers, triple Rochester carburetors, and an Edelbrock intake manifold. Inside there's a Crane cam with roller lifters and rocker arms and a set of ceramic-coated exhaust headers dump into a beautifully finished exhaust system with glasspack-style mufflers. A 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission makes for relaxed cruising but the 4.11 gears in the 9-inch Ford out back means that it's a rocket off the line. The suspension is familiar with a Super Bell dropped front axle, Pete & Jake's leaf spring, and chrome shocks, while the rear axle is held up with coil-overs and ladder bars. Wilwood disc brakes are cleverly disguised as drums in front and they fit rather neatly behind those classic 16-inch Dayton wire wheels that are fitted with nice, tall 550R16 front and 750R16 rear Coker blackwall radials for an old-school look. This roadster is impressive in every sense of the word, delivering a look that's at once familiar but radical, and with over $90,000 in receipts, it's absolutely spectacular to see. This 1929 Ford roadster dates from the mid-60s and has just come off of a major restoration that returned it to as-built condition for a genuine taste of what it was like to go fast without a catalog full of parts. It's a steel body, not fiberglass, and it combines a 1929 Ford roadster body with a '32 Ford grille shell to create an iconic look. Well, the body isn't very stock, it's been channeled and sectioned to look low, and there's a very cool custom windshield with stanchions that give it a unique look. The bright red paint contrasts with a black deck and cowl, which helps it look even lower than it is, and quite honestly, the finish quality is probably light-years ahead of what it wore when it was first built. Clever details include filled fender wells, some shaved hardware, and 1950 Pontiac taillights built into the rear panel, which was a popular look then and even more so today. A black insert in the radiator shell ties it all together quite neatly and if you're a fan of exposed hardware and minimalist bodywork, this car delivers in a big way. Chrome King Bee-style headlights are about the only flashy parts on the entire car, and they work with the old-school look. You can see 1965 sensibilities inside, where button-tufted leather seats and side panels were all the rage. Perhaps most remarkably, everything inside the car save for the carpets is original, a testament to the care the car has received over the past five decades, never mind the high-quality workmanship that some upholstery shop delivered. I don't know where those pedestal-style buckets came from, but I like them, and with a wrap-around belt rail, the line between inside and outside the car is very blurry. Doors? We don't need no stinkin' doors, not when your car is this low and there is no roof; just jump in and go! A real wood dashboard is full of vintage Stewart-Warner gauges that give a full picture of the engine's health, and the only really modern piece is the leather-wrapped steering wheel, which uses a yellow marker at the top just like vintage race cars. There's also a small trunk out back, but most of it is filled with a new fuel cell and the remote-mounted battery. For power, this one uses a vintage 1965 Buick Nailhead. Displacing 425 cubic inches, this torque factory flings the featherweight roadster around like it was made of paper, and you'd better be sure you're pointed in the right direction when you crack the throttle. All eight barrels open up and the car lunges forward at any speed. The Nailhead is one of the cooler-looking engines, especially with those finned valve covers and it's certainly distinctive. Chrome headers dump into side pipes that sound outrageous on the go and the transmission is a genuine 4-speed manual feeding 4.11 gears in the Ford rear end. The ladder suspension and frame are basic, but that's this car's entire M.O., and thanks to the recent restoration, it's nicely detailed and ready to rock. Staggered whitewall tires on painted steelies complete the awesome retro look. History matters in the rodding community, and this car has loads of it. Nothing's more authentic than a car that's already been there, done that, so if you're tired of all the catalog cars out there, this is the antidote. This 1932 Ford was built with that in mind, starting with an original 1932 Ford firewall and creating an entire car around it! The body is steel, the finish quality is exceptional, and the look is right on. But it is the detailing that truly sets this one apart. There are rod shops that crank out '32 Fords like the factory did 80 years ago, one after the other, each identical to the last. This lovely burgundy roadster, however, shows the attention to detail that only comes from hand craftsmanship and sticking to your vision rather than just buying someone else's parts out of a catalog and bolting them on. Brookville is cranking out bodies made on Henry Ford's original tooling, so they're as accurate as you can get today, and when this one was assembled, all the factory-like finishing was left intact. That means factory-style seams and spot welds are visible, not hidden under filler, the hood snugs down with traditional latches, and the stance is exactly right. Finish quality is exceptional, but then again, you should expect it when you're starting with fresh, clean sheetmetal and building a car with a cost-no-object budget. There are 216 louvers in the 4-piece Rootlieb hood, the rear beltline was tweaked, and the gas tank was sectioned to better show off the quick-change rear end. Other traditional mods include '39 Ford taillights, a smoothed and filled radiator shell, and a set of painted spun brass headlights that are the only truly old parts on the car. The interior is traditionally styled but designed to be comfortable for long hauls. That gorgeous naugahyde wrapped seat actually started out as the third row in a Chrysler minivan, modified to fit and sitting on adjustable tracks so there's a surprising amount of room behind the wheel for a stock-bodied roadster. The dropped steering column is topped by a gorgeous 1940 Ford wheel and the carpets are custom tailored like a Saville Row suit. Simple gauges from Classic Instruments are arrayed across the dash with most of the secondary controls and switches hidden underneath. Features include a heater for those chilly night cruises and a chopped top that is removable and folds up tight tightly so the car can be enjoyed like a true roadster. The trunk was outfitted to the same standards, including some handy storage pockets and a custom box for the Optima battery. Like the rest of the car, the engine has an old-school look but modern performance hiding within. The small block Chevy is a 425HP crate motor punched out to 383 cubic inches, so acceleration is astounding in this lightweight roadster. Everything under the hood, from the air cleaner on the dual quads to the finned valve covers to the motor on the cooling fan has been polished or plated so it's definitely worthwhile to open the hood at shows. For fun, there's a Tremec TKO 5-speed manual gearbox, not the expected slushbox, and for that reason alone this is one special '32 Ford. The chassis was painted vivid red to contrast and show off the polished details like the Super Bell dropped I-beam and Posies front suspension, as well as the beautiful quick change rear end hanging on chrome ladder bars. Braking is by Wilwood up front and Ford Motorsport in back and the exhaust system was custom fabricated then ceramic coated. Old-school P.S. Engineering kidney bean wheels were fitted with spinners and staggered 165R15 front and 8.90-16 Firestones for that early hot rod look. A very recent professional build to extremely high standards, this is the hi-boy you've always wanted to own but could never quite find the time to build. You can also find it in the June 2012 edition of Street Rodder Magazine where a full spread was done. It's truly spectacular, so call today! 1932 Ford Roadster for Sale 1932 Ford Roadster for Sale Stock # 865-DFW Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Mon - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Mon - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Mon - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE 1.
