For Sale - 1964 Ford Econoline 5 Window Pick Up. This truck has an upgraded and swapped in 250 cubic inch straight six cylinder engine from a 1971 Ford Mustang, which is much bigger than the original 144ci or 170ci stock Econoline engine and it has the stock 3 speed manual transmission which you shift on the column. It starts runs, drives, and stops, and shows 5343 miles on the odometer but we do not know if the odometer has rolled, it does work, and mileage does increase as you drive it. The truck has an OK paint job, probably a good 10-15 footer, still have a few small dents and dings, occaisional run in the paint, but overall looks decent and good enough for a cool cruiser, people stop and ask about the truck everywhere it goes, be prepared for lots of attention and questions! New parts have been installed recently including: new 15x7 wheels, new tires rear are 265-50-15 and fronts are 245-50-15 both are solid white letter but are two different brands, matching 5th spare wheel included and installed in the factory spare position. New side exhaust, hard brake lines, engines mounts, fold down flip forward cloth bucket seats, battery, starter, starter solenoid, carb, spark plugs, fuel pump, water pump, thermostat, aluminum 6 blade flex fan, 3 core aluminum radiator, hoses, coolant, chrome valve cover, custom air cleaner, and oil change. The headlights and taillights work, the turn signals do not, runs and drives but is not a mustang cobra by any means, it still runs the factory style 1 barrel carb and points distributor, for heavy regular driving those units should be upgraded. Since it is based on a van style chassis with the engine mounted inside the cab between the seats which sheds some heat, and it has huge glass windows all the way around letting in LOTS of sunlight, it would live best in a cooler climate, than it would here in Arizona where its 110+ every day all summer, so we would like to see it sell to someone in a cooler climate. There is a temp gauge installed and it runs about 190 degrees out here in AZ when it is 100 degrees outside. The cab is a utility van style not a cadillac so it is kind of hot and noisy inside also, this was a working Man's Man type vehicle built over 51 years ago, so you kind of have to be a man, or sturdy woman to drive it. From our drives with it the only items of note we have noticed is that the factory style "hot air choke" takes a good 15 minutes of driving for the choke to automatically reach full off and the engine to run the best, and under moderate to hard braking it does pull to the right a bit. We took this truck in a trade for another vehicle we have, it has a signed, notarized Arizona title ready to go for the next owner.
