But every once in a while, we like to get a little crazy and make sure you're still paying attention. Hey, a gearhead is a gearhead, right? We love ALL kinds of people movers. A few months back we decided to throw you the incredible, investment grade curve ball that is our Hallett Barron Drag Boat And today, well, we're featuring an offering that can easily tow that boat... Or a camper... Or something from the farm ... Or even a couple more classics, should you feel the need to extend your RK Motors shopping spree. So, without further ado, here's a Cummins-powered, Terminator-themed Ford F650 pickup truck! BODYWORK/TRIM Let's start with looks. A few years back, the ever-escalating truck wars inspired a rash of Medium Duty pickup conversions. Offerings like Kodiak and TopKick duallies, the International CXT and the F650 and F750 became staples of showing, towing and comfortable travel. That's pretty much where this F650 currently rides. At the front of the truck, a mirrored steel bumper frames a chrome grille, traditional headlights and a tilting fiberglass hood that kicks off the aforementioned Terminator motif. Behind that hood, a familiar Super Duty cab seats factory-tint glass between a factory visor, factory tow mirrors, chrome C-pillar grabs and hardware for the truck's satellite TV. Beneath that cab, painted and diamond-plated steps hide large fuel tanks. Behind those steps, a lined dually bed centers a color-keyed toolbox between tubular rails and a sliding glass window. And at the back of that bed, a Terminator-branded tailgate caps a chrome dually bumper, which centers a small rearview camera over large mud flaps and a coated Reese Hitch. Most of the truck's vivid visuals come courtesy of completely removable vinyl that was freshly applied by Greensboro, North Carolina's DeDona Tint & Sound. The only exception to that rule is the painted billboards on the aforementioned steps. ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN As the name suggests, the F650 is Ford's offering in the Class 6 Medium Duty truck market. That means the truck's beefy, tow-anything frame has straight, C-channel rails made of 50,000 psi steel. That frame rolls on 8,500 lb. Dana Spicer axles, which span the distance between six 22.5-inch Accuride alloys and fresh meats that were installed just 2,000 miles back. A Ford-supplied air suspension helps counter the exceptional ballast resistance of that stiff frame/tall tire combo. Stops come courtesy of 4-wheel disc brakes, which are augmented with standard ABS and Bosch air-assisted parking. Power-assisted steering is present and accounted for. An electronically shifted Allison 5-speed sets everything in motion. And power is provided by a stalwart, 5.9 liter Cummins ISB turbo diesel. Presently, the truck shows 88,632 miles, which is essentially break-in time on an engine that's known to travel up to 500,000 clicks. And everything benefitted from a complete service that was conducted roughly 1,000 miles ago. INTERIOR When you step up to this level, trucks are all about comfort and utility. That's why it's so refreshing to hop in the cab of this purposeful but nicely appointed Ford. The stars of the show are leather, power-adjustable buckets and a broad vinyl bench. In front of those thrones, a Flint Gray dash hangs factory telemetry, factory cruise and factory climate control beside navigation-equipped Kenwood audio, a Sirius satellite receiver and hardware for requisite trailer brakes. Below that dash, Flint Gray carpet floats heavy-duty floor mats around a small, factory-spec console. At the sides of that carpet, wood-trimmed door panels found factory speakers beneath power windows, power door locks and power mirrors. And the driver rules the road through a beefy, leather-wrapped steering wheel, which laps a standard tilting column. OUR SALE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATIONThe truck's original Line Setting TicketMiscellaneous service records Ultimate tow vehicle, or comfortable cruiser guaranteed to start a conversation? This highly stylish, and very original V8 truck is even set up for practical modern use. Around this period a lot of manufacturers tried to make their trucks more user-friendly by giving them car-like styling. The result is a vehicle that looks like the iconic '40 Ford of the era in the front end and fenders, but in rear there's a tough and useful pickup bed. This truck looks particularly nice in a regal blue, with its full chrome package intact. It's not just the pristine condition of the truck bed and body in this slick paint that makes us think this pickup is all about going to the car show. This one has perfect whitewall tires, chrome dish hubcaps with the Ford V8 logo, and subtle pinstriping around the cab to make this workhorse feel like a fancy classic. While that might be true, this one has been upgraded for some very specific work, but more on that later. The same nice shade of blue on the outside continues throughout the interior. Like a good pickup, the inside is more about providing industrial function, but the black bench seat is still quite a nice place to sit. You get to rest your right hand on the tall stick shift, and your left one is firmly planted on the stylish two-spoke steering wheel. Beyond that is a full array of instruments in their own beautifully styled panel under a single pane of glass. Really a very nicely done classy interior! Beyond the great styling, these Fords are so wildly popular because of the flathead V8 engine. When you open the hood you see the iconic head shape, and if you look closer, some nice upgrades become apparent. First of all, this is a larger 239 cubic-inch motor that is mated to a three-speed manual transmission. It breathes nicely through a dual exhaust, and when you looked at those shiny chrome tips out back, did you notice the trailer hitch? Yes, this classic pickup is setup to haul. The package includes an upgrade to a 12-volt electrical system so you can utilize a modern trailer plug, and there's a new high efficiency radiator to keep the torquey V8 cool and happy when hauling. You're looking at one of the most iconic classic pickups, and this one is already set to pull anything from a parade float to your company's product. Just imagine the possibilities with this beautiful and affordable Ford. We haven't had one this nice in the showroom in a while. As World War II was winding down, civilian production began to gear up again. An industrial giant like Ford had access to steel even when it was in short supply, and so it was able to get a few new trucks back in the hands of Americans at home. This 1945 Ford pickup was one of those lucky few. It almost feels like this truck should be painted red, white, and blue, but instead it's a more calm military green with black accents. This is an older paintjob, and on a truck this honest, it just fits nicely. It's a similar case with the real wood truck bed, which shows signs of carrying a workload but no severe scratches or impressions. Don't be tempted to replace the bedrails or bumpers with chrome. This pickup has earned its stripes while coming out of a tough time of shortages, and the lack of brightwork tells this Ford's history. In fact, you might see other trucks from this era with side-mounted spares tires, but that is not necessarily correct. Rubber was also still in short supply in 1945, and so staying true to the unique model year, the spare is not mounted on this one. Trucks were the first civilian vehicles to come back after WWII because they were the workhorses needed to help rebuild in a peacetime economy. There's no better reminder than with the no-nonsense interior. The brown gives a hint at this pickup's original color scheme, and everything feels nearly original, even the heater. That means there is a bit of wear and tear in places like the gauges and the steering wheel, but it's those minimal marks make you wish this pickup could tell its stories of the last seven decades. While these trucks looked very similar to their pre-war counterparts, Ford did improve the engine and chassis. The 239 cubic-inch Ford flathead V8 was now standard issue. Back then this was great for hauling bigger loads, but today it just adds to this pickup's industrial symphony of simplicity. It is a rhythmic roar that feels like being in charge of a mini locomotive as the tempo increases with the acceleration. The three-speed manual transmission shifts crisply and the brakes have been properly maintained. Leaf springs, solid wheels, and bias ply tires are far from modern, which makes them perfect in this time capsule of a pickup. In the end, the full experience of being behind the wheel feels like rolling history. This is a truck that gets respect everywhere, and that's even before you tell them what year it is. This pickup has so many stories to tell that it's ready to be your new best friend. This 1951 Ford F1 could just as easily pick up cattle feed as it could go for a Sunday morning pleasure drive. You know you want this truck. It has those original good looks that can instantly transport you to another time, but just like a tough grandfather, aged does not mean frail. This pickup has the old school rugged design that looks like it wants teach modern pickups a bare-knuckles lesson. You know this truck can still haul home this weekend's lumberyard load (heck, there's enough real wood in the bed that it IS this weekend's lumber run!) The bright Vermillion Red paint is about the only boisterous thing on the body. It's a very nice contrast to the big white grille whose chunky, industrial appearance seems indestructible, and the small accents on the hood break the paint up very well. Ok, you probably want this Ford for all those reasons, plus it's at a value price that barely buys a new base model F-150 today. Inside is a cab built for long-lasting function. There's plenty of bright red dash space, thanks to an uncluttered feel, that only has to make room for the heater. Muddy work boot are not a problem because the rubber floor mat means this cleanup is as simple as a garden hose. Despite this utilitarian feel, there have been a couple of nice upgrades, such as a new set of Sun Pro gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and voltage. The vinyl bench seat has been updated for a comfortable cloth insert. But this Ford's blue-collar roots are immediately known when you grab three-spoke wheel and feel the groves of all the workers who relied on trucks like this for decades. There is no radio, but it will hardly be missed because this pickup will make you want to whistle a farmer's tune on every road trip. If you're not into making your own music, there is one other sound that never gets old. The 239 cubic-inch Ford flathead V8 gives off an industrial symphony of simplicity. It is a classic rhythmic roar that feels like being in charge of a mini locomotive as the tempo increases with the acceleration. The three-on-the-tree transmission shifts crisply and the brakes have been properly maintained. The modern tires are hardly noticed thanks to the original solid color-keyed wheels with chrome hubcaps. In the end, the full experience of being behind the wheel feels like rolling history. It's up to you to choose this truck's fate. Will it be the most original pickup at the car show? Will it be the best looking errand cruiser around town? Or both? But sometimes we get the feeling that the modern street rod movement has become more about flash and less about substance. After all, hot rod culture started with guys who drove their cars out of necessity, and showed them out of desire. This razor-sharp Ford, a direct result of what happens when $250K in resources meets years of specialized labor, is a prime example of that 'built-to-cruise' mentality. And if you're a discerning rodder who's looking for a cool classic that offers more than shiny chrome and bright paint, it's your one-way ticket to bigger and better things! When building a first class show stopper you have to start with an excellent foundation; and in the world of modern street rodding, it doesn't get much better than an all-steel fuselage. Any experienced builder will tell you traditional steel creates a tight and reliable custom that, unlike most resins, retains ALL of its original lines, functional parts and structural integrity. And this '33 Ford pickup, which took nine years to complete, looks absolutely stunning under a rich coat of trick PPG Ocean Chameleon paint. The truck's solid body displays smooth vertical panels and an arrow straight profile that would give any high dollar garage queen a serious run for its money. And everything, from its electric doors to its electric tonneau, has been painstakingly engineered into one clean, completely sorted custom. Naturally, a body that nice deserves to be seen and celebrated to the highest extent, so its color shifting basecoat was sealed in glossy clear and buffed to a fantastic shine. And today, after roughly 2,300 miles of carefully planned road time, this awesome Ford is an excellent combination of old school style and trophy winning prowess! Everything on this polished and themed creation is exceptionally well-done, and the truck has just the right amount of detail to turn heads and create a lasting impression. At the front of its body, a 1933-branded frame hangs a simple chrome bumper below a stainless grille, a stainless headlight bar and two modern combination headlights. At the top of that grille, a flamed Rootlieb hood runs to a 3-inch chopped and custom airbrushed greenhouse that's cleared by small, hidden windshield wipers. At the sides of that greenhouse, a characteristically clean profile features polished mirrors, suicide doors and body-matched running boards. And at the back of that profile, a steel, custom airbrushed bed cover folds over wood planks, LED tail lights and massive MBRP exhaust tips. There's certainly no mistaking a classic Ford shape, but this pickup has an identity all its own thanks to a cohesive theme, careful workmanship and acute attention to detail. Fold this Ford's hood and you'll find a mean, 383 cubic inch Chevrolet V8 that, thanks to the experts at BluePrint Engines, spins a dyno-proven 405 horsepower into 440 lb./ft. of tire twisting torque. At the top of that body-matched small block, a polished air cleaner forces wind into a coated Edelbrock carburetor. At the base of that carburetor, a chrome Edelbrock intake hangs an aftermarket distributor between Ron Francis wiring and Accel Extreme 9000 cables. At the base of those cables, polished valve covers reflect a nice set of coated block hugger headers. And in front of those headers, billet pulleys spin a chrome alternator, chrome water pump and Hot Rod air conditioning behind a large puller fan and beefy Walker radiator. Aesthetically, both the monochromatic mill and its assortment of bright accessories seem right at home inside their carefully insulated frame. And details like polished tanks, polished fuel components and a mirrored firewall ensure this truck looks every bit as good as it runs. Under this Ford's well-planned and professionally executed powerplant you'll find a whole catalogue of custom performance parts which mix great aesthetics with excellent driving dynamics. The 383's power flows from a rebuilt Turbo-Hydramatic 350 to a polished aluminum driveshaft and body-matched Ford 9-inch that's fitted with Strange axles. That familiar drivetrain pushes a heavily modified frame on a 4-bar rear suspension, which benefits from high quality coil-over-shocks. Tracking is provided by a Heidts front suspension and lucid rack-and-pinion steering. Quick stops are a cinch thanks to a full outfit of polished Wilwood disc brakes. At the center of the floor, polished stainless exhaust breathes through polished, glasspack-style mufflers. At the corners of the chassis, impressive Billet Specialties wheels twist 215/45ZR17 Sumitomo HTRZs in front of 255/45ZR18 Sumitomo HTRZs. And everything, from the truck's mirrored cab floor to its custom stainless fuel tank, is well-planned, well executed and ready to work its magic! Installed by Dressler Upholstery of McAlisterville, Pennsylvania, this pickup's southwest themed interior looks straight out of a designer Hot Rod magazine. At the front of the cockpit, a body-matched dash hangs billet-seated Dakota Digital gauges between billet foot pedals, a tilt steering column and a polished Billet Specialties wheel. In front of that dash, a riveted seat hangs western-style buttons and an embossed "Cruisin" script above a modern, folding console. At the base of that seat, an Alpine CD player and multi-sound PA hover over thick carpet, leather-lined floor mats and a booted Lokar shifter. At the sides of the passengers, steer-branded panels are dotted with billet door handles, billet power window switches and authentic rope pulls. And above those panels, a custom headliner frames a sizeable Alpine display between small courtesy lamps and modern shoulder belts. Naturally, the story of this hot little street rod includes many awards and accolades. Here's a short list of the truck's major accomplishments:Goodguys Pro Pick at the 2008 Goodguys Great American Nationals in Long Pond, Pennsylvania (awarded before the truck was even complete)Goodguys Pro Pick at the 2010 Goodguys PPG Nationals in Columbus, OhioBest of Show at the 2014 Lead Scene East Rod & Custom Show in Biglerville, PennsylvaniaTop 30 Award at the 2014 Lead Scene East Rod & Custom Show in Biglerville, Pennsylvania Not surprisingly, our sale includes an assortment of restoration photos and component manuals. Very few customs possess reliable, well-rounded performance to back up their extravagant appearance.
