Original 5 liter, 5 speed car. Very solid car with numerous upgrades. Slight scratch on driver's side window. Paint is driver quality or a little better. Car looks stock except for the hood but really performs. Stock front and rear seats are included as well as the tail pipes. Reason for selling is that I built it up and now I just don't drive it much and it is time for someone else to enjoy. Investment far exceeds what I am asking for the car. Own a piece of history. Originally packaged SSP (Special Service Package) Ford Mustang LX. I have owned this car for almost 2 years. This would have been my car of choice when I turned 16 and after years of looking for one, I finally bought one for my 40th birthday. This vehicle has not been raced or molested in any way. Although this vehicle has the SSP package, it appears to have sported its original Medium Cabernet color its whole life and still has the original interior including seat cloth and carpets in Scarlet Red. The only signs left of it being a government use car, are the antenna cable still installed in the trunk and 2 small holes on the side of the middle dash that would have been for the radio mouth piece. This vehicle still has its original buck tags with the SSP and government order number stamped right on it (DSO-83-0033). Otherwise it looks like a stock civilian Ford Mustang. The vehicle has all the items particular to the SSP package as it should. Although not confirmed, it is assumed that this vehicle was used for light duty with a government agency (presumed to be General Service Administration), such as a high ranking officials car and definitely never any police lighting or badging. The previous owner had the vehicle re painted a few years ago and then warehoused the car for a couple of years. It is not a show quality paint job but has very good shine and makes the vehicle very presentable. Interior is complete and very nice and presentable as well with few signs of wear and tear for a vehicle of this age. Ice cold A/C and like most, the heater core has been capped off. The only aftermarket parts on the vehicle at the time of purchase were MAC Shorty headers, MAC H-Pipe and Flowmaster mufflers. The mileage is original and the engine has never been rebuilt from what I can tell. Engine runs well with no issues or odd noises. It still has its original automatic transmission which is one of the standard SSP package items. Previous owner claimed to have rebuilt the transmission. It shifts thru all gears without any noise or slippage and also runs well at high speeds. Although some departments ordered there vehicles 5 speed, the standard SSP package includes an automatic transmission in order to free up the officers hands during vehicle use. Since purchasing the vehicle I've had lots of fun bringing it back to its full glory. As previously mentioned the vehicle had been stored for about 2-3 years before I purchased it. The car starts, stops and drives very well. It also handles well and drives very nice at highway speeds and everything in between. I'm a car enthusiast and have owned many other sport and classic vehicles. This car has been cared for and maintained like only a car enthusiast can. I've enjoyed owning this car and it fulfilled a teenage dream, but now its time for someone else to enjoy it. The vehicle is not perfect with a few minor items in need of repair such as inoperable passenger window switch, inoperable horn, flashing air bag light, minor paint blemishes and one very small spot of rust within the trunk channel that is pictured. Very small spot and it's the only one that I've ever seen on the vehicle. This vehicle still gets tons of compliments every time I drive it. Always creates lots of conversation from enthusiast every time is goes to the local car shows and meets. The vehicle is only driven to shows, car meets and occasionally to my office on really nice days. The vehicle has always been stored in my garage and the previous owner had it stored in a warehouse with the rest of his collectable vehicles. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car anywhere. I'm selling my pride and joy. I've built this car over the past year. Let me start by saying this car may be a SSP when i purchased the car i was told it was was and he showed me some vehicle report where it stated that the coupe was a fleet vehicle i dont have any proof it just what i was told when i researched it, i found the SSP description a little vague. I built it to be a daily driver for me and my three boys. I'm a single dad and I thought it would be great. However, I have decided it is a little small for a family vehicle, and im trying to get a down payment together for my house. This little coupe is chucked full of new parts. The suspension is all new, it has been lowered 1 1/2" with Eibach springs and KYB struts (the ones recommended for lowered vehicles) It also has a Ford Motorsport bump steer kit, and tubular rear control arms. I think they're UPR, they're a little squeaky when its cold. Also has caster camber plates the front control/a -arms have new neopreme bushings. The rear differential is a limited slip out of an 89 GT and has 373 gears it was built a few years ago...has maybe 25000 miles on it. The wheels are 17x9 1/2" ,all around. The rear tires are mt slicks and they're worn, they came off my old race car. So that is the suspension. It corners like a race car. The engine runs great, good oil pressure and practically unmolested. It has BBK headers and a trickflow upper and lower intake with a BBK throttle body. I have not done anything to the engine except change the oil and charge the a/c. Yes, it has a/c and it works, heat too!!! For the engine uninstalled i have an E303 cam with a 2800 stall converter. I also have a very nice nitrous setup. Theses items are all used and have never been ran on this engine but will be available with the car for a little extra money. The paint Wild Strawberry is about 6 months old and people compliment it where ever I go. It nice, the hood is a Kaenan 3 " cowl. The headlight are new as well as the belt line molding and weather stripping around windows. The windows were polished so they look nice also. Now to the inside. The car has power everything and the interior is mostly all new. It has new custom sewn the seats, they are 89 GT seats. There is an armrest delete. The headliner is new. The rear deck is new. The door panels are 75% new i built this car to be nice. Even has new floor mats. It has a B&M hammer shifter. It also has a $1000 stereo, alpine deck, with amp and Infinty Kappa speakers professionally wired in to the factory harness.(the gauge and switch panel doesn't go with the car unless you buy the extra parts). It'll come with a nice double din panel. The car is fast, fun and reliable. Just took it on a 500 mile trip over the weekend. It still needs small stuff here and there, but all the long waiting stuff is over. I'm sure that I am forgetting some things. The only problem that needs to be addressed is a small seepage leak from the tranny pan gasket. I've put close to $10,000 into this little car only to find out i need something larger.
