This Mustang has undergone a professional rotisserie restoration, using only factory or NOS replacement parts. Being pampered and caringly used since the restoration was completed; everything on this car shows exceptionally well! The Base/Clear paint has a beautiful finish and is in exceptional condition, the body is laser straight, and the body lines match perfectly. The chrome, bright work, soft trim, and glass are in great condition as well, and add a nice touch to the exterior of this car. As the photos show, the undercarriage was also nicely restored and has been recently detailed. The interior of this Mustang is in excellent condition, without any unusual tears, stains, cracks, or marks anywhere! During the restoration, an original Shelby Console and Armrest were added for comfort, and they add a nice compliment to the Hurst shifter. The over head console, deluxe door panels and Factory Tach were also added at this time. All the items throughout the interior are in working order, including the heater, gauges, interior lights and radio. Under the hood, you are introduced to the date correct 390CI engine with correct C8AE-H heads. The engine underwent a complete rebuild by a well known speed shop approximately 5,000 miles ago. During this time, they added a mild performance camshaft, Speed Pro flat top pistons, Melling oil pump, and a Mallory ignition just to name a few. Of course, the original and hard to find 427 low riser aluminum dual quad intake manifold, dual Holley 600CFM carbs, and Shelby cast iron exhaust manifolds were added as well making this menacing Big Block put out an estimated 420HP! After being rebuilt, the car was then precisely tuned and the dual carburetors set up properly making it start, run, and sound absolutely incredible! The engine bay was also cleaned and carefully detailed, factory correct decals were applied, and the original trim tag was placed back in its original location. During this time, the Top Loader 4-Speed Transmission was rebuilt, a new Center Force clutch installed, the drive shaft was gone through and balanced and the original 9inch rear differential was also rebuilt and upgraded to a 3.73 Detroit Locker. Recently, New Cooper “Cobra” radial tires were wrapped around the original date correct GT wheels, making sure this Mustang stays glued to the road. Having personally driven this stunning 68 Mustang GT over 500 miles within the last month, it is easily made known that you are driving one of the greatest American Muscle Cars of all times! Being that the entire drive train has been rebuilt within the last 5,000 miles, this car is a pleasure to drive anywhere.
