Very solid driver, 38,000 original miles, has been stored in windowless garage for past 20 years. Black top, black carpeting. New radiator and heater core. New gas tank, fuel pump and hoses. New rims and tires. New carb (600cfm, electric choke Summit), fresh tune-up (plugs, wires, etc.). Complete brake job (all new wheel cylinders, shoes, spring kit, etc., also all 3 brake hoses new, and new master cylinder). This motor was professionally rebuilt before it went into long storage 20 years ago. Also has mild cam, similar to 271hp. It has Cobra engine dress-up kit, consisting of Cobra open-lettered valve covers and Cobra lettered intake manifold. The top cover Ford 4-speed is in excellent condition. I've had the original Ford shifter apart, needed to be cleaned and greased, showed very little wear. This is no doubt due to the easy life this car had with it's previous owners. A woman ordered the car new in Utah and owned it until 1984, when she traded it into a dealership. My friend purchased it then, did the repairs and updates to it, including the Cobra dress up kit on the engine. It was parked in approximately 1995. In the early '70's, as a young man, I began buying these early Mustangs, fixing them up and rebuilding them, so I can say without a doubt that this is the tightest, most solid convertible I have ever owned. This car does not need power steering, it is effortless to drive, and has excellent road feel. Everyone says this, but I truly hate to see this one go.
