Original California Coupe bought from "little old lady from Pasadena" Up for Sale is one of the most original unmolested Mustangs I have ever seen in over 30 years of owning 1960's ford mustangs. I bought this car several years ago from the original owner's nephew who inherited the car upon her passing. He could not start/drive the car as it had been stored in her garage for over 10 years. When I purchased this car it was all original except for oil/air filters, battery, tires, brake shoes, water pump. It had the used original spare in the trunk and the pink slip title. The paint was original Brittany Blue but was faded to red oxide primer on hood, roof, trunk areas. The car has no bondo, all factory sheet metal that is amazingly straight with factory gaps. The car includes Date - stamped original bumpers!My son and I started a complete restoration and had to stop prior to exterior painting. You are bidding on my 1997 Ford Mustang Convertible. My husband bought me a newer convertible so now I am downsizing my vehicles by selling what I no longer drive. This has been a reliable car for me for the past couple of years that I have owned it. The only things I know to be wrong with it are that the convertible top leaks and the button to put the top up and down does not work, but you can manually do it. It worked when I bought it and stopped working suddenly about 6 months ago, and the odometer does not turn, so I dont know the actual true mileage on it. The odometer is stuck at around 80000 some odd miles and will not turn over. I have used this car as a daily driver until around october of last year, when I parked it and stopped driving it. It has been started a few times since so that it doesnt just sit. Also, the paint on it is faded. I tried to take good pics, but if you need anymore let me know ill take the best I can to help you judge the aesthetics of the car. The front windshield has a crack on it as well, started with a small crack from a rock hitting it on the interstate that I didnt realize until it has started to crack worse unfortunately. Also you can see in the pics there is a dent in the hood. I dont know how it happened and I think it was there when I first purchased the car. Title is clear and in hand. 1969 Ford Mustang GT 351 Coupe - Burgundy original color w/black vinyl roof - Original wheels are included - I just liked the Mustang Chrome Mags. I purchased this car from the original owner. He purchased it for his wife in 1969 and she wasn't crazy about it. SHE DROVE LINCOLNS!! No brainer there! He drove it occasionally for years then let his adult daughter drive it for a while. They moved to Washington state and it sat in his heated garage for years. It has NEVER seen SNOW OR ETC... When I bought the car the I was told back in 2003 that the paint job was approx. 10 years old. They never painted inside the door jams or the hood. My dad would freak out if he ever heard this. He was a body man for over 60 years. It would be easy and inexpensive at this point to paint the whole vehicle as there really isn't a lot of body work to be done. This would skyrocket the value of this car as there are not many 69 GT Coupe's left in this good condition. I have it insured for $24,000. because that was the appraisal and I probably have more than that into it by now. With a new paint job this car should be worth double that. Everything is STOCK!! This is a California car - 351 Windsor - GT gas cap - perfect vinyl roof - Factory Air conditioning w/tinted windows from the factory. New headliner with a small nick under passenger visor - may try to repair - vinyl seats are not ripped and in good condition - rugs are in excellent condition - no stains or odors (I think they were new when I purchased the car) - Stock AM radio - motor is stock and all original - shaker hood - bumpers original show some signs of age but really not bad - trunk fully lined with original vinyl and spare tire - no rot anywhere - small rust under battery box, just have one and haven't had time to remove it - one small rust spot bottom quarter panel. The motor purrs and when you nail it she takes off - passing gear tight and slick. Will spin tires from a stand still. Classic muscle car. She still needs a few more things for an old lady but definitely great fun to drive and show off. Occasionally there is a slight rap from one lifter every now and then, NO SMOKE AT ALL (add slick 50 and it stops). We have change everything over to the new air conditioning but still need an evaporator. Once that is replaced the A/C will be complete. Runs cold and has been charged but it's leaking through the evaporator. Since I purchased it I have done many improvements to make it more than a daily driver and it still needs a bit more. Here is a list of what I have done since 2003: New Radiator - condenser - fan belt- blade and shroud The factory Air conditioning has been rebuilt with all new Timing gear - naturally after a new water pump All new brakes including Rebuilt Power Booster New gas tank - all new power steering pump - hoses and arms New sending unit for the gas gauge - New horn ring - new shocks Installed all new custom dual exhaust from manifold to 2 new tail pipes All new wires - distributor cap - new coil - new ignition - alternator - rebuilt starter Original valve covers and breather - professionally painted the proper color SHIPPING ANYWHRE IN THE COUNTRY CAN BE DONE BUT IS THE BUYERS FULL RESPONSIBILITY. New Sunrise Yellow paint with jambs, etc. painted. New tires, shocks, fuel pump, valve job, water pump. Rebuilt carburetor, recent clutch. Engine is 200 CI bored .040 over, mild cam, fresh head, long tube headers into dual exhaust. 3-speed original stick shift. Sounds great with the dual exhaust. Windows run up and down nicely, doors open and close as they should. Heater was rebuilt and functions as it should. No radio, instead it has a factory style "radio delete" panel. Dash under panel is good, you could put a radio in it. All the fun of a hot rod Mustang but with 20+ miles to the gallon. Starts and runs nicely. It is on planned non-operation, so no fees due. Title is clear and clean, in my name. We started with a straight, rust free, California Desert car and added 300 hours work with 4,500.00 in parts. Nice enough to enjoy, but not over-restored till you don't want to drive it. Clean Car, I am the 3rd owner. The car is an original coupe and every part replacement has been with New/old parts. New radiator, water pump and hoses/clamps. The only aftermarket addition to the car is the dual exhaust. The paint is manageable, but it is faded and needs a new coat. The car has never left NJ, it came out of the Metuchen Plant in May of 1969 and has been registered here ever since.
