Time to thin the herd. For sale is a very well kept, original example of the classic 59 Galaxie 500 Sunliner. Local Virginia car that sat in private collection for many years and has rarely been driven the last 10 years. Last owner did a complete mechanical overhaul of the car before selling to us. Engine, trans, brakes, exhaust all have been redone and car drives runs and drives fantastic. Was repainted once the original Colonial white and is very high quality. Body fit is excellent and has no rust issues with all glass , chrome and trim being very good. Interior is completely original and in remarkable shape for its age but car was stored in large building with his other cars so rarely saw inclement weather. Power top that still works well is also original and equally impressive. Has the correct 332 Cubic inch V8 that came with the car and when you start this car it just growls. Both engine and trunk compartments are nicely detailed and factory spare and jack kit are there. Has both Fairlane and Galaxie 500 trim as they did and is just a lovely survivor all around. Tires are new Cookers and wheels are great. I'm happy to answer any questions about the car. Make me an offer. Thanks.-Jim

SURVIVOR CAR- not restored but in beautiful, mostly original condition. This car has had two owners in its life. Second owner bought from his friends family after his buddy passed. Garage kept for the past 24 years. Born with a 352V8, autotrans (cruise-o-matic) power top (new), original dual spotlights and fender skirts. 4 new radial tires. This car drives GREAT, no squeaks or rattles normally associated with a older cars, drives straight and stops on command. Can't verify mileage but I would bet it has more than the 52850 shown on the odometer. This car is not perfect but you would be hard pressed to find a better a nicer one. Driver must supply the power for the brakes and the steering. As far as I can tell this is a rust free car. Chestnut is the color and the interior is vinylCome and get it and drive it home!!.

Please do not bid unless you have the funds in place to purchase the car! I am relisting the car because the previous guy who won the auction could not get a loan for the vehicle. Please read the entire description before bidding! You are bidding on a 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Sunliner. My father purchased this car with the intention of recreating the 406 4 speed that he bought new in 1962. . The car is an original 390 automatic. He began collecting parts to convert it to a 406 with Tri-power and the 4 speed manual transmission. Unfortunately he lost his battle to cancer and never got the chance to do so. I do not have enough time myself to finish converting the car so I have decided to sell it. The car was repainted prior to my dad purchasing it. The body is very solid and straight. The odometer reads 12,xxx miles but I would assume it is actually 112,xxx. We had a custom canvas convertible top installed on the car to update the look. A high end upholstery shop made the top and did an amazing job. The top alone cost $1800. As you can see in the pictures, it sits on a set of 17" Shelby style wheels and Nitto performance tires. The tires are practically brand new. The chrome appears to be original and would need to be re-chromed to be show quality. It still presents fairly well but does have some pitting. The car runs and drives good. It might need a neutral safety switch or something because you have to put the car in neutral to start it. It will not start in Park. Everything else appears to work, including the power windows and power top.The auction is for only for the car, with the original 390 and automatic transmission. Note: The engine pictured and additional conversion parts are not included in the auction! I have a fresh 406 motor, tri-power, shorty headers, 4 speed transmission, rear, new performance clutch, manual pedals, and other conversion parts that I will sell separately. I would work out a package deal with the car for the right price. The motor was purchased from Pop's Performance center. It is fresh and includes their "street heat" performance heads. I do not have a lot of details other than what is listed. I will try to answer any questions to the best of my ability. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. Please only bid if you are serious and have the funds to purchase the car.
