Up for auction is our 1965 Ford Ranch Wagon. The Ranch Wagon is the base form of the Country Squire and Country Sedan station wagon. I originally built this car as my daughter's first car, she picked it out and drove it while she had her permit (with mom or dad), but the car is really large and she's a bit intimidated by driving it. Although she loves the car and we get lots of waves, thumbs up and comments, the reality is it's more car than she can handle right now. So it's up for auction. I have to say, this thing is really cool and there aren't many station wagons on the road any more. I acquired the car from a seller in Arizona after it had been sitting for about 25 years. What attracted me to the car was no rust, the body and frame only had some surface rust and all the body panels are original to the car. The interior on the other hand was ruined, so it's all been replaced. Here's a list of what was done to the car. New PPG Wimbledon White basecoat/clearcoat paintNew custom red/white interiorNew carpetNew HeadlinerCustom Door PanelsCustom Vinyl UpholsteryRetrofitted with 3 point retractable modern seat belts for the driver and passengerNew tiresNew torque thrust style wheelsFour new shocks New wheel bearings front and backNew universal jointsNew dual exhaust with turbo mufflers and chrome tipsNew conventional drum brakesNew Master CylinderAll New Wheel CylindersAll New ShoesNew Hardware, where requiredNew brake lines (flexible)Gas tank removed, inspected, cleanedFuel lines replacedNew fuel pump/filterOriginal 352 V8 engine professionally rebuilt, .030 over bore, shop said engine had never been rebuilt in pastNew starterNew water pumpAll ignition parts new, conventional points ignitionOriginal Autolite 4100 4 bbl Carburetor professionally rebuiltI'm sure there's more but you get the point, you can drive the car anywhere (if you can afford the fuel). It runs, drives, shifts, stops very nicely and SAFELY. It is by no means a hot rod but it sounds great with the new exhaust. Remember, I built this car for my daughter. All the manual windows work (doesn't have power windows) and the glass is all good. This car is an original AC car, I have the compressor and it goes with the car, I never did fix/hook it up during the restoration. Everything works as it should except the fan switch inside the car, sometimes you have to wiggle the switch to get the fan to turn on. It also needs a dome light lens, the dome light works, just needs the lens. I have the original wheels, hubcaps and steering wheel (pretty rough) and they go with the car. Drive something cooler than a Mustang or Camaro, most of these wagons ended up in the crusher and are pretty rare. I'm relisting the car using fixed price OBO, the last auction had lots of interest and was approaching the reserve, so hopefully some lucky eBayer will get a great wagon this time around. By the way, I can help with delivery so if you win the car the I can deliver for a reasonable cost. Thanks.
