OK, we all know that you can buy an old Ford station wagon for $500 but not one like this. This 1969 Country Sedan is almost totally original and in really great condition. It has a 429 2bbl, an automatic gearbox, and a Detroit Locker rear end. I can't imagine why someone ordered this spec back in 1969 but maybe they planned on hauling a trailer. However I see no evidence of a trailer hitch ever having been fitted. This car was in Hemmings a few years back. It then ended up on eBay. Here is a copy of the original verbage: "All Original 2 owner car! acquired 1973, 108K mi. C-6 AT OH 1985, 429 V-8, A/C, AM radio, Detroit Locker Rear End, new rear window motor, undercoated, no accidents, garaged 98 percent of lifetime, rack, good tires & brakes, new rear coil springs. Excellent Condition & Super Clean! Runs and Drives Like a Dream! This car was only used for the annual Pheasant Hunting trips to Eastern Washington with all the Italian “Old Timers” and a faithful Golden Retriever named Jack. Thousands of Apples and Peppers came back home in this classic Ford Station Wagon." A customer of mine ended up with the car after the eBay auction and from there it came to me about 3 years ago. In that time I have driven the car maybe 100 miles. When my customer got the car, he took it in to his local classic car shop for a complete going-over. He replaced the front brake calipers and pads, front wheel bearings and seals, rear brake shoes and wheel cylinders, and brake master cylinder. The car was given a complete tuneup with a Pertronix Ignitor fitted. The heater core was replaced and all of the coolant hoses were renewed. A complete dual exhaust system was fitted. The battery was replaced along with valve cover gaskets and upper trailing arm bushings. The automatic transmission was flushed and serviced. This work was performed in April 2012 and receipts are present. There is also a folder of receipts from prior owners starting in 1976. The mileage trail on the invoices indicates that the mileage of 107,426 (assumed because of the 5-digit odometer) is correct. Cosmetically this car is a real time capsule. The paint appears to be totally original but I did respray sections of the rear fenders due to small blisters in the paint. Otherwise there is no evidence of accident damage or paint repairs. The car is 46 years old so there are small flaws like paint chips and a few very minor dings here or there. However, given its age, the overall appearance is really amazing. There are a couple of small dings in a few of the aluminum side moldings and the original bumpers have some very minor hazing but overall very nice. The interior is 100% original. There are no tears evident anywhere and the dash is uncracked. The black carpet has faded to a greyish-brown due to age but is in great condition otherwise. Headliner is in great shape. All glass is good except for one small chip on the windshield as pictured. There is some scratching and signs of use to the rear floor area and tailgate from years of hauling. No third row seat is fitted. Mechanically I would literally get in this car and head for New York without hesitation. The tires are almost 100%. The 429 engine pulls like a train, it shifts perfectly, and brakes and steering both function as well as they did in 1969 which means you sort of float down the road guiding the car along like a boat. It's a little hard to burn rubber because the Detroit Locker goes into action as soon as you floor it. Everything seems to work with the exception of the radio and the air conditioning. I was told that it needed a new AC compressor but never got around to that. This is a unique opportunity to acquire a big block Ford in almost totally original condition. You just have to ignore the jokes about somebody's Grandma having had one when they were a kid. I'll bet Grandma didn't have a 429... Please feel free to ask questions or to make a reasonable offer. Please visit this page to view more photos of the car.

Up for sale is a California Original Survivor, Matching Numbers 1966 Ford Galaxie Country Sedan Wagon with around 300+HP and over 400 ft-lb of Torque from the factory. It originally came with 405 ft-lb of Torque and 275HP from the factory without its Optional Performance S-Code Manifold option that it has, in addition it has been upgraded to True Dual Exhaust, an Spectre (outflows K&N) 14 Inch Open Air Intake System, Accel High Performance Super Stock 8mm High Temperature, Radio Suppression Wiring, and so on. Moreover, most cars of the 1960’s Horsepower & Torque were underrated from the factory for sales/insurance purposes. The “Country Sedan” is a Galaxie that is a Wagon, also known as just the Galaxie Wagon. In fact if you look carefully you can see various Galaxie emblems/symbols on some of these. When purchasing parts, the parts may be listed under Galaxie. While it is a surviving matching numbers car it does have some modern updates to enhance your driving experiences and features/looks that some restomods would have. It needs some work. Probably needs a new or rebuilt carburetor? The reason for that is because up until around a month ago all kinds of work was put into this vehicle and it ran great it was dialed in, was dependable even on long distance trips. But one day right after getting a complete brake overhaul/job (new everything). It started running bad and quickly got worse to the point where it won’t drive. There appears to be plenty of clean fuel to the delivered to the carburetor but it dose not process it right. 2 others (mechanics), other than me believe that may be the issue. Other than that there was 1 fouled spark plug(but it was like that before and ran fine and its where the oil filler neck is). Was driven mostly highway 60 mile trip when vehicle was purchased and achieved over 17mpg before some of the performance upgrades and tune, so if you’re easy on the gas you should be able to achieve more. Traffic & road type/conditions varied (some LA stop & go & mountain passes included), light on the accelerator. It’s a pleasure to cruise and it gets up and goes. With the 6.4L 390 and over 400 ft-lb of Torque from the factory, it has plenty of Muscle it easily/quickly passes other cars up on the street and interstates. It’s a great all around vehicle: for the beach / surf wagon, mountains, desert, the river, lakes, camping, fishing, hunting, & work & play. Plenty of room and power to haul people, tools, and equipment. When you get it back on the road, You’ll get plenty of compliments around town, and at car meets / cruise nights. Original OEM & Ford Factory Performance & Aftermarket Performance Parts that might work on this model listed separately. Will consider a package deal. If you're interested MAKE an OFFER (ALL OFFERS Considered) If another $1000-$2000 is spent on this Vehicles Interior/Paint it maysell for $15-20,000(seen others sell for that amount). 1966 Ford Galaxie Country Sedan Code/Vin description: 6 Year: 1966 J Assembly Plant: Los Angeles, CA 72 Body: Galaxie Country Sedan 4-Door Sedan 6-Pass.
