1964 FORD GALAXIE for sale! HOW IS THE BODY? In my opinion it is very solid and the frame is good, the floors look super solid. No thick under coating so you can see what is really there. HOW IS THE PAINT? It has a brilliant shine. Past owner said it was a late model Ford color called Laser Blue. It a dark blue with lots of metallic and a purplish tint to it. The body is straight when you look down the sides, paint has never been buffed, it does have some orange peel. HOW IS THE ENGINE? Its a sweet running 390, I hear no knocks or rattles and see no blue smoke. It is detailed, chrome valve covers, Mallory distributor, electric fuel pump by Holley (I can hear the pump running). AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION shifts good. BRAKES ARE DRUMS AND STOP THE WAY OLD DRUMS STOP! POWER STEERING, it has the easy/ floaty steering feel that was common in the day. HOW IS THE CHROME AND TRIM? The side trim is nice, back bumper real good, some dull places on the front bumper. SOUND SYSTEM IS A HIGH DOLLOR SYSTEM! WHEELS ARE NICE AMERICAN RACING with BF Goodrich tires. The car is nice, the burgundy paint has a brilliant shine, the chrome decent, the interior not all new, but nice. The glass is clear, the big block runs sweet, the automatic transmission shifts good, it drive good with power steering, drum brakes just OK, wheel look new, good tires, good dual exhaust with the old school glass pac sound. This is a upper end driver, it is not new, it is not perfect, but its a nice car that looks goodHOW IS THE PAINT? The paint has a very good shine, I see no dents, no dings and no rust bubbles! The car looks very straight to me when I look down the sides! I consider this a nice upper end driver paint job. If you look with a critical eye you will find 4 or 5 touched up chips and some specs, but it looks good.HOW IS THE VINYL TOP? It looks good to me, I see no rips or wrinkles, I see no big rust bubbles.HOW IS THE ENGINE? It runs good, decals on the side say 390, but I don't know what it is. It is a big block FE for sure that runs sweet. I tried to read the casting codes on the block, but could not see them. Its just a good running engine, that could be a 352, 390 or bigger. It does have a 4 barrel carburetor and starts good.HOW DOES THE CAR DRIVE? To me it drive good, it is power steering. Its the old school cylinder and control valve type, they leave drops of fluid on your clean floor, but no big puddles.HOW ARE THE BRAKES? They are drums on all 4 wheels, power and stop like drums. It does have a little pull to the right on hard braking. I will pull the wheels and check it out. I do see a new rubber line and wheel cylinder on the right. HEAD LIGHTS WORK! TAIL LIGHTS WORK! The chrome is very good, the white interior is showing it age. The 390 cubic inch engine runs sweet, power steering makes it easy to drive and drum brakes stop decent for the day. The automatic transmission shifts good and don't the Cragar wheels look right on this car. PICTURES: 97 pictures below, just scroll down to see them. VIN: 4U68Z184413 HISTORY: I bought the car from a car restoring friend that lives near Cincinnati. HOW IS THE PAINT? The paint is slick and the body is straight when you look down the sides. I see no dents, no dings and no rust bubbles. The panel fit is good and the doors, hood and trunk all close good. I don't think the paint has been buffed, it could use some rubbing and buffing, but looks great the way it is. HOW IS THE CHROME? Bumpers are new, fender spears new, new door handles, grill original, but good. Some pitting on the mirrows and the chrome window divider between the front and back window. HOW ABOUT RUST? The frame looks good, the floor look good, the trunk pan has original, but has a ruff rusty surface from where the trunk mat sweated, we put a new seal on the trunk. WIPERS WORK! HEATER BLOWER WORKS! GAS GAUGE WORKS! HORN NOT WORKING! OIL LIGHT WORKS! RADIO MAKES SOME NOISE BUT NOT WORKING PROPERLY! HOW IS THE ENGINE? Its a 390 cubic inch that runs good. I hear no knocks or rattles and see no blue smoke. It has a Ford 4100 carburater, its a little cold natured like most old cars. DO YOU SEE ANY FLUID LEAKS? I see no bad leaks, but I see some weeping. What I mean by this is dampness, but no puddles. Most old car are this way, this car may leave drops on your clean floor, but nothing bad engough to fix unless your looking for a perfect car. HOW IS THE GLASS? All the glass is good other than a rock bulls eye down low near the wiper blade, it a a fine crack. HOW IS THE INTERIOR? I love the white interior, but its showing its age. The head liner is fine, the carpet real good, the seat covers have had some repairs, a split on the top rear near the back window, a crack in the dash pad from the corner of the speaker area. Bottom line: This is a decent car, but its no perfect, it is no priced like a perfect car. $12,300 is my price and it very fair. ColorWhiteTitleClearDESCRIPTION IN A NUT SHELL: The red paint is nice and on a good straight body. The chrome is very good, the white interior is showing it age. The 390 cubic inch engine runs sweet, power steering makes it easy to drive and drum brakes stop decent for the day. The automatic transmission shifts good and don't the Cragar wheels look right on this car. PICTURES: 97 pictures below, just scroll down to see them. VIN: 4U68Z184413 HISTORY: I bought the car from a car restoring friend that lives near Cincinnati. HOW IS THE PAINT? The paint is slick and the body is straight when you look down the sides. I see no dents, no dings and no rust bubbles. The panel fit is good and the doors, hood and trunk all close good. I don't think the paint has been buffed, it could use some rubbing and buffing, but looks great the way it is. HOW IS THE CHROME? Bumpers are new, fender spears new, new door handles, grill original, but good. Some pitting on the mirrows and the chrome window divider between the front and back window. HOW ABOUT RUST? The frame looks good, the floor look good, the trunk pan has original, but has a ruff rusty surface from where the trunk mat sweated, we put a new seal on the trunk. WIPERS WORK! HEATER BLOWER WORKS! GAS GAUGE WORKS! HORN NOT WORKING! OIL LIGHT WORKS! RADIO MAKES SOME NOISE BUT NOT WORKING PROPERLY! HOW IS THE ENGINE? Its a 390 cubic inch that runs good. I hear no knocks or rattles and see no blue smoke. It has a Ford 4100 carburater, its a little cold natured like most old cars. DO YOU SEE ANY FLUID LEAKS? I see no bad leaks, but I see some weeping. What I mean by this is dampness, but no puddles. Most old car are this way, this car may leave drops on your clean floor, but nothing bad engough to fix unless your looking for a perfect car. HOW IS THE GLASS? All the glass is good other than a rock bulls eye down low near the wiper blade, it a a fine crack. HOW IS THE INTERIOR? I love the white interior, but its showing its age. The head liner is fine, the carpet real good, the seat covers have had some repairs, a split on the top rear near the back window, a crack in the dash pad from the corner of the speaker area. Bottom line: This is a decent car, but its no perfect, it is no priced like a perfect car. $12,300 is my price and it very fair.
