Hello and thank you for your interest in our 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Retractable-Hardtop. Where to begin? This car is in fully functioning and driving condition, reliable enough to take on any road trip. It has been nicely cared for and remarkably well preserved. It is very rare to see this caliber of vehicle in unmolested, preserved condition. Typically they are either over-restored or basket cases. Here we have a rarely seen example that has been looked after and repaired along as needed. It isn't a perfect concourse winner... It is a proper 57 year old vehicle with corresponding patina and a great cruiser. No signs of rust on the body and the frame is rock solid. Only 97,800 Miles believed to be actual. This particular example was built November 8th, 1958 as the brand new model for 1959. Built in the San Jose, California assembly plant. Featuring a 225 Horsepower 332 cu. in. V8 motor and 3 speed Cruis-O-Matic (automatic) Gearbox. Finished in Ford President Red and Colonial White. "Mostly" original paint with patina and several touch-ups, still very presentable. The Hardtop was repainted however. The original pattern interior and trim are in impeccable condition, feels like a new car. I believe it to be original to the vehicle. Even the original AM radio still works (somewhat). No rips or tears anywhere (see the pictures for details). Words cannot express the amount of attention and detail involved. Excellent trim in and out. On the interior nearly all the chrome and stainless steel are excellent. Same on the exterior with the exception of the rear bumper, it does show its age and the reverse light bezels are good but show some pitting. One small dent on the left side headlight trim and fender.Fully operational retractable hardtop functions nicely at the touch of a switch. All 5 electric motors working well and in sequence. This is the heart of this vehicle. A very unique feature made only 3 years on the Ford Fairlane. Such an option wouldn't become available again until 1997 with the Mercedes SLK. The original Ford 332 cubic inch Y-Block V8 motor runs like a clock and adequate power to wift the vehicle for highway cruising. This certainly is the sort of vehicle you'd want to cross Route 66 with! Coupled with the Cruise-O-Matic transmission making for effortless driving. The vehicle also features power steering and power assisted brakes. Proper white-wall tires with original type matching hubcaps. This indeed is a magnificent car to own, made only 3 years from 1957 to 1959. With only just over 12,000 units made in 1959. Only a handful over 2000 left in the world including all 3 years. Owning a 1950's American classic is truly something special, owning a convertible is the epitome. This car has been somewhat of a personal time machine that takes you back to a bygone era of drive-in movies, rock and roll, and malt shakes. Everywhere we take it people smile and come to see and talk to us about it. It really does brighten your day... If you have any questions regarding the vehicle don't hesitate to ask, we are available day and night. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but I can assist in the process if needed. Costs for shipping to the west coast via Matson typically runs around $1200.00. A very modest reserve has been set to ensure the vehicle goes to a proper home, so please bid with confidence. Payment is expected within 7 days of the auction's end, with a modest deposit of $400.00 made through PayPal. The remainder of the sum can be paid via cashier's check, wire transfer, or cash in person.Thank you again for stopping by, best of luck on your bidding. I hope you will enjoy the car as much as we have. Be sure to scroll down and look at all the additional photographs, they are well worth the time.

1958 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner with Ground Up Restoration 2 door Retractable Hardtop - 8-cyl. 332cid/265hp 4bbl - 52,222 Original Miles. This beautiful car has a ground up restoration including full paint job and new interior. 8 Cylinder 332 Motor and matching # orange transmission run and drive like they did back in 1958. Front end has been completely rebuilt and includes all new brakes and shocks all the way around. This eye catcher includes the Factory Cowl Kit and a NEW stainless steel exhaust. All four tires are new and the convertible top works PERFECTLY. I have included all the pictures ebay would allow but please call me or email me if you have any questions or need additional photos or a walk around video. Ray - 716-418-0768 Fairlane frontal styling for 1958 bore a familial resemblance to that year's new Thunderbird, while ovoid taillight pairings distinguished the big Fords at the rear. Swathes of gold anodized body-side trim marked the flagship Fairlane 500s. A new 300-hp, 352-cid Thunderbird Special V8 option became available in premium models during 1958. The Fairlane and Fairlane 500 rolled into 1959 with more conservative styling and new rooflines featuring reshaped wrap-around rear windows on sedans. Soon after 1959 production started, though, Fairlane 500 closed models were demoted to mid-level status, as new Galaxie styles, with Thunderbird-inspired rooflines, arrived. At the same time, a simple badging change converted 1959. Ford Sunliner convertible and Skyliner retractable hardtops to Galaxie models. As in 1958, all full-size '59 Fords except the Skyliner were offered with Ford's standard 223-cid six-cylinder engine. “Thunderbird” V8s of up to 352-cid were again available. Excepting the occasional Skyliner, the distinctive but rust-prone1958 Fairlanes are uncommon today. The '59s have seemingly fared better. A nicely turned-out 1958-59 Fairlane 500 is sure to attract admirers at any Ford gathering.

1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner Frame Off RestorationCalifornia Rust Free CarOver 60 Photos Included Here is your chance to own a beautiful in every way 1957 Ford Fairlane Skyliner. This vehicle underwent quality frame off restoration in the early 90's by the original owner, who has since past away. The vehicle was stored for many years. Second owner purchased this vehicle in 2003, who was a member of Skyliner Club. I purchased the car from him a few months ago. This vehicle looks and drives like a champ. The paint is in very good condition with exception of minor chips. The chrome and Stainless Steel are original to the car, completely redone and they are still in beautiful condition, there are a few unnoticeable dings on the Stainless Steel. New glass all around with new rubbers, all four windows go up and down as they should. All gauges and lights work well, except the fuel gauge that sticks sometime. Original radio works fine. The interior is in beautiful condition with no blemishes, as you can see in the photos. The engine is in good condition, no leaks, no smoke from anywhere, it does not overheat, and the transmission shifts smooth. Power steering, power brakes, drums all around; brakes and wheel cylinders were replaced recently. Steering is a bit tight, but it drives straight down the road, does not pull left or right. I updated the charging system to one wire 125 amp alternator and installed a new battery. Frame is powder coated black. Now for the most important, the retractable top works just as it should. The power train has about 20,000 miles on it. The undercarriage of this car looks as nice as the rest of the car. New shocks, new bushings, new gas tank see the photos. That's all I can say about this for now. If you any questions, please contact me at 626-340-8553 William.
