Car still retains its original 289 engine that has been totally rebuilt with all top quality performance parts and runs super strong and smooth, chrome Tri-Y headers flow into a Magnaflow dual exhaust. T-Bolt style cold air intake. Transmission is a three speed manual (4 speed available) rebuilt with new clutch kit and flywheel. The rear is a Ford 9" Detroit Locker 355 gears.The original 41000 mile rust free body was completely disassembled, stripped to bare metal, blocked until laser straight and painted Ford Vintage Burgundy in PPG B/C, color sanded and buffed. Looks like it was dipped in paint. The bumpers are new and all of the chrome is near perfect, glass is clear and windows go up and down nice. All new weather stripping and rubber parts. Ford only made this Retractable hard top in 1957,58 and 9 months of 1959. Three options were available for the engine, all V8's. This one has the 332ci. This is a classic which should only grow in value. The car is all original except for the paint. It is its second coat of original colors teal and cream white. A beautiful combination. Right now the car is not running, however when I bought it 3 years ago, it ran fine. I have not used it in a long time, thus the possible problem. Personally, I think it requires either a carburetor adjustment or rebuild. The small motor which unfolds the front 1ft. of the hard top needs to be replaced. Otherwise, this car is in good working order, as far as the brakes and tranny are concerned. The Coker Classic whitewall tires are almost new. The interior is in excellent shape overall. There are no rips, stains or tears on the seats. The door panels and inside of hard top could use some reconditioning. All original chrome in pretty good shape. There is NO rust anywhere. The underside of the chassis has been coated. This is a very accurate description of the car. The car has been kept in a heated garage, and is available for inspection any time. Read my feedback. I am only selling because am moving out of state, and can not take my toys with me.

Ray - 716-418-0768 Fairlane frontal styling for 1958 bore a familial resemblance to that year's new Thunderbird, while ovoid taillight pairings distinguished the big Fords at the rear. Swathes of gold anodized body-side trim marked the flagship Fairlane 500s. A new 300-hp, 352-cid Thunderbird Special V8 option became available in premium models during 1958. The Fairlane and Fairlane 500 rolled into 1959 with more conservative styling and new rooflines featuring reshaped wrap-around rear windows on sedans. Soon after 1959 production started, though, Fairlane 500 closed models were demoted to mid-level status, as new Galaxie styles, with Thunderbird-inspired rooflines, arrived. At the same time, a simple badging change converted 1959. Ford Sunliner convertible and Skyliner retractable hardtops to Galaxie models. As in 1958, all full-size '59 Fords except the Skyliner were offered with Ford's standard 223-cid six-cylinder engine. “Thunderbird” V8s of up to 352-cid were again available. Excepting the occasional Skyliner, the distinctive but rust-prone1958 Fairlanes are uncommon today. The '59s have seemingly fared better.
