With vintage pickups being red-hot right now, this is a great way to look cool while getting your work done. Looking at the door tag, you'll see this truck is wearing correct code-D Peacock Blue over code M-Wimbledon White. Of course the shining condition tells us there has been a nice recent investment in erasing decades of going to work every day. The real proof is in the pickup bed, where someone went the extra mile and straightened every dent, gouge, or mark that shows it ever carried a load. Now the paint has a straight canvas to showcase its sunny, bright disposition that is an ideal choice for a '60s pickup like this. But not to be completely in retro-rewind, this one also rides on American Racing wheels that look like they came off a more modern Ford pickup. The F-250 came standard with the longer wheelbase and larger eight-foot long bed (an option for the F-100s in 1968), so when it's time to get to work, this truck is up for doing more. Also speaking of work, you noticed the Camper Special badges already we are sure! This adds features such as a beefier suspension, extra wiring harness, and larger Western mirrors. But, where this distinctive option package really adds value is its sought-after status in the pickup community today. The interior has been tastefully reupholstered in a two-tone vinyl to match the exterior. Wide enough for three across seating, the cab is surprisingly spacious, even in this age of extended and crew cab pickups. Door panels are simple affairs, with painted steel with a padded armrest for long haul comfort. The simple but easy-to-read gauges are arrayed ahead of the driver and seem to be in original condition, as well as the factory steering wheel that is tastefully done in white. In fact, this pickup has a nice original feel right down to the AM radio. We've already hinted that this Ford was built to take on the big jobs, and now look under the hood for more proof. That's the big blue oval's 352 cubic-inch V8. This FE motor has been recognized as the perfect size for power in Ford's truck and muscle car programs. In this pickup it starts easily and has a nice burble from twin tailpipes with glasspack-style mufflers. Power steering and the three-speed Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission are nice additions to help make any task easier. Yes, we've been mentioning a lot about work, but there's another way to look at this. Thanks to this F-250's 6,900 lbs GVWR and beefy Dana 60 rear end (running 3.73 gears) it can haul like a modern pickup.
