You are looking at my classic 1970 Ford F100 Long Bed Pickup Truck. I am only the second owner and have put an entirely new engine ($4,500.00) in her just 4 years ago. Original odometer reads 115,665. It had 79,000 on it when I replaced the engine. So new engine has 36,665 on it! NO POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. THIS BABY IS ALL ORIGINAL. TRANSMISSION COOLER ADDED FOR TOWING, AND 3K HITCH PUT ON FOR TOWING TRAILERS/CAMPERS ETC. BRAND NEW LARGE RADIATOR TO KEEP COOL! RECENT $400 TUNE UP, ALL SYSTEMS GO! RADIO DOES NOT WORK, BUT HIGH END SPEAKERS AND AMP HAVE BEEN INSTALLED TO USE WITH AN 1/8" CABLE FOR MP3/PHONE ADAPTATION. She's been a daily driver and I have replaced nearly everything under the hood since I got her. She runs good and strong and will make a beautiful addition to any colllector who wants to re-finish the exterior or drive her as is! The only exceptions to her cosmetic condition, would be the patina (which I left and liked her that way), and the gas guage and temperature guages do not function. Easy fixes for someone that knows how! And the seat has a tear in it, but I keep this cover on it at all times! FUN NOTE: She's kind of famous! Every mechanical system has been gone through, and either rebuilt or replaced in an effort to make the truck 100% reliable and operational. Engine · Change oil and filter, 10-40w Valvolive, Purolator filter, Zinc add · Replace Valve cover gaskets · Replace air cleaner base gasket and lid gasket. · Replace air filter · Adjust Carburetor · Replace and set points · Adjust ignition timing · New fan belt In addition to the mechanical freshening, other small things have been done like replacing all the hardware on the mirrors with stainless steel hardware, greasing all the front suspension points with L-M moly grease, stripping and repainting the valve covers, air cleaner assembly, 4 blade fan, and fan pulley. A new Optima battery (red top) has been installed, and a new correct reproduction battery hold down added. This F-100 wears it’s original intake manifold, original carburetor, original choke assembly, original coil, original points distributor, original exhaust manifolds, original 2-1 exhaust mid section, and single muffler exhaust system. Everything is functional and working correctly. The body fit is excellent, and the doors open and close beautifully, as do the hood, and tailgate. It has all the original glass with the exception of the windshield which has recently been replaced along with the seal. The side windows roll up and down easily and smoothly, and the door locks works smoothly with a solid feel. This truck starts easily cold or hot, idles smoothly and accelerates briskly. The carburetor and factory choke are adjusted correctly and they work perfectly, even in cold temperatures. The transmission is original, and shifts smoothly and quietly. The entire truck drives amazingly well with good straight line tracking, strong braking, strong driveline, and solid construction. It handles and rides very well being just 4500 GVW, and wearing radial tires. The Twin I-Beam front suspension really works well, and as Ford advertised “Works like a Truck, but rides like a Car”. The 3.25 ratio rear axle allows easy 70-80 mph freeway speeds. Throughout the entire process, every effort was made to preserve and maintain the originality of this amazing truck using correct original replacement parts or NOS parts. The upgrades to the cooling system and brakes were essential for safer driving. Sale includes most all the original parts that were removed. Needless to say this F-100 gets attention and compliments regularly, but nobody can believe it’s still a mostly original un-restored truck. As they say “it’s only original once”. Some may be tempted to do a full restoration, as it would be relatively easy, but the preservation route was the direction chosen. With proper care this truck can “Survive” another 46 years. Outstanding all original, 1 owner (until May 2015 when DRD acquired it), California Blue Plates, Rust free, '72 Ford F100 Short Bed 4X4. Trucks like this in this condition are extremely hard to come by and DRD is excited to offer it here today: All original owners manuals, original Ca pink slip and all original documents along with owners service record journal. Purchased new @ Downtown Ford, Sacramento, CA and lived it's entire life in Yuba City (40 miles North of Sacramento) with the same owner. 155,322 total miles. New rebuilt 390 installed 5/19/1999 @ 147,772, so just 7550 on motor. Updates include headers and full dual exhaust, Edelbrock manifold, Holley carburetor, chrome valve covers and air cleaner. Runs fantastic. Shifts easily. Good clutch. Good brakes. 4WD engages easily and works great. I just had the A/C charged and updated to R134 (blows nice and cold). New 33x12.5 All-Terrain BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires on vintage 15x10 heavy steel Kelsey Hayes wheels. All gauges work with an added SW tach. Blinkers, horn, wipers, turn signals, high and low beams, heater, dome light, defrost, etc all without issue. Good original factory tint glass all around. Windows and wing windows roll and function smoothly. All original interior is extremely nice considering seat cover has never been recovered. Dash has no cracks other than just around the speaker grill. Exterior is very straight, and very solid. No accidents and original paint! (hood was unlatched one time in it's past and blew open while driving, causing some cosmetic damage but not enough that they had it replaced). Inside of the bed is really much better than most and was saved from heavy usage as the truck had a shell for decades. Excellent chrome and complete original full trim looks great. All emblems and trim tags in place. Truck tracts down the road accurately and straight. Very easy to drive on the freeway with no wind wander. Suspension is very tight for it's age. 4" lift springs in front, and leaf spring adjustable arc units in the rear. Front winch is currently in-op and I haven't investigated further. Comes with plug in controller and also has a switch on the dash. This is just a remarkable survivor and you are encouraged to come check it out or schedule a PPI. This 1971 Ford F100 is a beauty , the two tone paint really sets off the iconic style of this vintage pick up.I have driven this truck on weekends and vacations in the summer for the past three years.I have taken it off the road as soon as the weather turns and the previous owner did too.This truck gets attention wherever it goes and I get complements on it all summer. It hurts me to sell her but I have a family now and I don't want to see her sit in storage till who knows when. Over the past few years she has been maintained by a mechanic that has completely rebuilt the drum brakes, installed a set of ford aluminum rims and new goodyear wrangler tires. The truck has the original interior minus the radio that was replaced sometime in the past.The inside looks like it did in 1971, its pretty cool. The truck retains its original V8 motor and auto transmission. The motor has had a recent tune up and runs great. There is no evidence of burning oil whatsoever.I can pump the gas a couple times and she fires right up. When I got it home I took off the original single pipe exhaust and put on duels, its got a good rumble.The body is in excellent condition for its age. The doors are solidly hinged on the cab and the rockers are solid as well. The hinges for the hood are great too. This truck has some dings and a few dents but over all it is really great for the year. There is a crack in the grill if you look close and there is a piece of missing trim on one side. This truck is mechanically great and overall the body is great too, but in an effort to be upfront about its condition here is a short list of small things I would want to know if I was buying it.First, there is a small spot on each front fender on the bottom that is in need of patching, there is also a spot on the front of the box side on each side that needs patching. They are below the chrome trim and not that noticeable as there is still some work there.The bed and tail gate are rhino lined and the tailgate works but overall I think a new one would be good. She has a drip of oil that I don't mind, seeing that the engine runs as well as it does , I don't think it adds up to much but its there. I have a nice driver 1971 f100 that I feel is in better original condition than most. I looked for a year before I bought this one. Sad to see it go. Of course I have to mention, this truck is sold as is, where is. No warranty is on this truck whatsoever. If you bid on this truck and win, its yours so if you have questions ask before its sold. Up for auction a 1970 f-100 . I got this truck about 3 or 4 years ago , found it in a warehouse in Central Oregon . I had it painted and did a few things to it . I would guess , given the great condition of the truck , it was and adult owned "shop" truck back in the 70's and 80's . stock AM and just look at the wheels and 'Keep Truckin " floor mats .
