Engine and transmission are solid, Suspension is tight (we replaced 1 ball joint that had slight play). There are no warning lights on. Runs down the road smooth without any strange noises or issues. Has rust in typical areas for these trucks but nothing that is horrible. Interior has excpected wear especially on corner of drivers seat but overall is decent for age. 2005 F150 FX4 4x4 5.4 engine. I am the second owner. I bought it for a project and built it as if I was going to keep it.It came with a what the previous owner called a bad engine. So I went out and found a very reputable company (engines direct) and bought a remanufactured long block for it. Engines Direct has 20+ years of experience remanufacturing engines. They know their stuff. I have been turning wrenches all my life. That along with new hoses, sensors, spark plugs, fresh antifreeze, engine oil, transmission fluid & filter, U-Joints, power steering lines and fresh power steering fluid. It also needed brakes so I replaced everything, all 4 calipers, 4 rotors and pads all the way around. stops straight and smoothly. The interior is pretty clean one rip that has been sewed together other wise its in very good clean shape. The exterior I would say is in very good condition for the miles on it. It still has a good reflection for the most part but does have some small dings and small scratches. The drivers side of the bed has some paint issues please see pictures. Also need the gas cap cover. I just haven't picked one up because there are some many styles out there. The new owner can pick one they like. Tires have very good tread on them. The wheels are perfect for salt and snow as in not new. car fax shows one incident. The original owner stated he backed into someone in a parking lot. No damage to either car but a report was filed anyway. I think that once you start comparing other trucks to this one you have to ask yourself do all those other trucks have a new engine?? I would be perfectly happy keeping this truck for the winter but its onto a new project when this one sells. I think the FX4's were the prelude to the Rapture its all truck and its ready to go.
