This is an very nice well maintained 2003 Ford Explorer 4x4 for sale with under 47,000 miles on it! Look at the pics, a one owner vehicle driven very little and garage kept every day. It has very little surface rust in spots underneath as pictured but a solid solid frame! The over all vehicle is rust free except a ouple surface rust spots on the running boards. A new transmission was just put in 2 months ago costing $1,500 The brakes and rotors and tires were newer within the last year. Tires show about 70% still. Very clean, interior is flawless. Up for sale is my 2002 Ford Explorer XLT. I bought it as a second vehicle to get me around last winter when I wasn't driving my work van. I am buying a pickup truck, so I won't need the Explorer anymore. Here is the pertinent information: -The truck is basically complete and hasn't been fooled around with (no big tires, body lifts, aftermarket stereo, engine modifications, etc) -Everything basically works (engine, transmission, 4wd, steering, brakes, all lights, switches, gauges, stereo, heat, A/C, etc). The engine chatters a little, mostly on start up. The odometer is digital, and is very dim. Tires should last through at least another winter. I put a new battery in the vehicle. -The body is basically straight. The front appears to have been bumped in a parking lot; minor damage (see pictures). The front part of the rear wheel wells and the bottoms of the rocker arms were rusted out (see pictures) where most Explorers rust out. Some of the rust was repaired, and I have a rust repair panel to fix most of what is left. I drove this car through the winter with no problems. It has been sitting in my driveway most of the summer, so I'd like to see it go to a new home before the next winter rolls around! This vehicle is being sold as is-where is with no warranty. Many people are not familiar with the Salvage or Rebuilt title, below is a brief explanation of the "Salvage verses Rebuilt Title". Salvage title means that the insurance company decided not to fix the car and paid off the owner. By declaring a car "Total Loss", Insurance Company is taking themselves out of any liability issues in the future. Does that means the car was totaled, not always. Sometimes the car has a minor damage but the parts are very expensive. Sometimes an owner does not want to get the vehicle repaired and (depending on the Insurance Company and the year of the car) Insurance will pay off the owner. If the car gets stolen then Insurance has thirty days to recover the vehicle, if the car is not recovered in thirty days, Insurance pays off the owner and once the car is recovered, it is brought to the auction as a Total Loss vehicle even if it did not have any damage on it. We have bought "Total Loss" cars from Insurance companies with door dings, extremely minor fender bender, theft recovered vehicles with absolutely no damage. In brief, Total Loss does not always mean that the car was in a bad wreck or had extensive damage. We do not buy or sell any cars with major damage. Rebuilt title: once the repairs are completed, car is inspected by the state for all repairs and a "Rebuilt Title" is issued, which means that the new owner will not have to get any inspection done to get the car back on the road. It saves a lot of trouble for buyers as they don't have to get the car inspected or fill out any extra paper work as is the case with Salvage title. With rebuilt title, buyer can simply walk into the BMV and get the car registered without any repair documents or inspection work.
