1997 Ford Explorer 5.0L V8 AWD is PA inspected until 6/16. To get it to pass inspection it has recently had a few parts replaced such as tires, brakes, upper and lower ball joints, sway bar end links, rear leaf spring shackles, shocks and a brake line. I also had the fuel filter, spark plugs, and plug wires replaced then as well. The explorer has no check engine lights and passed inspection and emissions, although there is a decent size rust hole on the rear passenger door jamb area and under the rocker molding. The truck starts right up and runs with no known issues, the transmission shifts good and does not slip. The rear quarters had no rust last year, and came through pretty decent this year as shown in the pictures. Over all it is a solid truck and has been very reliable for me. I used this truck for about a year as a daily driver, and then as a dedicated winter vehicle because it handles extremely well in any snowy conditions. Last summer this explorer towed a small trailer with 2 dirt bikes and gear to southern Kentucky without a hitch. This explorer is reliable but it does have its flaws. The cruise control does work but the buttons on the steering wheel are corroded. The arm rest cover is torn, the interior is that of a "work vehicle" it isn't horrible, but the carpet does have stains, although the seats are not torn. There is a slight exhaust leak, I believe it is coming from the passenger side manifold to y pipe gasket. The front differential...being chain driven...does whine on the highway slightly. There are some hail dents and minor damage around the explorer as seen in pictures. Throttle cable is a little tough from sitting. Clean PA title in hand. This explorer is being sold AS IS WHERE IS.
