We have personally driven and inspected this vehicle. Engine starts, runs, sound and performs excellent. There are no leaks, smoke, overheating or knocking sounds. Transmission shifts all gears smoothly. Good tires, brakes and tight suspension. Interior is clean and non smoker. Exterior is clean with no sign of previous damage. The ac blows cold and the 4x4 works just great. The truck is clean and has no known issues. This is the 6 litter and many of you may have heard some stories about the 6 litter powerstrokes. Well to that we have to say, it is true. The issues with 6 littler are mostly everything on top of the "block". If you are looking for a diesel "suv" then your only option is an Excursion. You have two choices; either a 7.3L (we have those too) or a 6.0L. Yet, that does not mean that the 7.3L do not have any issues, they too have some problems but they are more solid than the 6 litters. For example the transmission on the 7.3 litter are not the as great and so forth...If you think that the 6 litters are bad then you don't know the 6.4 and the new 6.7 powerstrokes. The truth is the more component the more things that could go wrong! Now, if you are looking to purchase any powerstroke you aught to make sure that the vehicle did not have some of the performance parts put on, specially on the 6 litters. It is better to buy them stock. An cold air intake and such is not going to do any damage to your truck but you kinda don't need a 6 litter with programmers. You also want to make sure that the dealer (if you buying from a dealer) understands these powerstrokes (most and majority of independent dealers do not have a clue), you want to make sure some of the following inspections have been done on the truck: Injector buzz test, cylinder contribution test; though cylinder contribution test needs to be done while the truck is cold and when running and at operating temperature since the 7.3 and the 6 litter's fuel injectors operate with the fuel and the oil (newer powerstrokes don't), on demand self test, glow plug self test, key on engine on test (KOEO as it is referred to by Ford) key on engine running test. Checking out the boost on the truck and going over the data logger (the data logger will tell you about the speeds and temperatures inside the engine). Yet, the data logger needs to be recorded under load at operating temperature. Apart from all the service that the truck needed, we've also have replaced the alternator. The 4x4 on the vehicle works great and the ac blows cold. We inspect our powerstrokes with VCM which is the same diagnostic software that a Ford master diesel technician use. Some of the engine diagnostics that we've performed on this truck are: Injector buzz test, cylinder contribution test (we do this when the truck is running and while the truck is cold since the fuel injectors on the 7.3 and the 6.0 operate with the fuel and the oil), glow plug self test, on demand self test, key on engine on test (KOEO), key on engine running test (KOER), we check out the boost on the truck and under load we record the data (the data logger). Here are what we've replaced/repaired on this truck: Air filter, fuel filter, transmission filter, oil change, new alternator and new starter, we've also put in a new HPO pump (very expensive and common to go out), sway bar end link and shocks.
