For sale: 2004 Ford Excursion 2wd This is a completely rebuilt Excursion. Not your typical project or back yard build. Owner of this truck is an Internet executive who spared no expense in building the ULTIMATE executive transport and weekend toy hauler truck. His specification was to be able to pull a 12000 trailer, at 80 miles an hour, getting no less than 14 miles to the gallon, without effort AND after the work was over to be able to instantly change the truck into a “over 700hp highway beast”. This truck as NEVER been abused. The build is detailed below. The build plan was done with 3 supervising engineers (two of them retired Ford SVT specialists), a suspension engineer, a professional tuner (truck has 8 specialty tunes done on dyno!) and all work was done by Certified ASC master mechanics. Consulting, tuning and assembly fees alone exceed 20,000.00! As for the project itself we started with a 2004 Ford Excursion Limited with only 130,000 miles., it has four captains chairs, front and rear air conditioning, factory DVD system, Limo tinted windows all around. The Truck was perfect as a daily driver should be when we started then the fun began. The truck came into the shop and the body was removed from the frame. Next the engine and transmission was removed and sent out for rebuild / build up. Next the rear end was re-manufactured and the fuel system was removed, cleaned and rebuilt. Next the TOTAL suspension system was rebuilt / upgraded. (new springs, new custom Bilstein shocks, Bushings, hangers, bolts, nuts. Etc) Next the brake system was totally rebuilt and new rotors installed with all new brake lines! The steering rack was replaced with a new unit with a faster ratio. Finally the drive shaft was sent out to be rebalanced / serviced with new yokes and joints installed. The engine was completely torn down, the block hydro checked for cracks and the heads completely rebuilt / decked / new valves/ guides/ seals, etc. next came in. The engine was completely rebuilt with Carillo rods, upgraded pistons, ARP bolts (not just the head either) using factory Ford Seals and Gaskets. The motor was spec’d to handled over 800 hp! Next, we upgraded the turbo, the up pipes, added BP exhaust manifolds, installed Industrial Injection injectors, a fuel pressure management and fuel return system, a FASS fuel management system as well as lift pump. New High pressure and low pressure oil pumps, a 58v FICM with injector tune, new silicone seals, all new air plumbing in the engine bay including an SB air box, a new factory radiator and a larger after market inter-cooler. Not to be left out a larger oil cooler was added (a 3 times larger oil cooler) and a remote oil filtration system (with a 3 times larger oil filter) a coolant filter system was added as well. A Totally new electrical wiring harness was added, and all new sensors as well. You can buy a rebuilt “performance” engine for about 10k. but all the stuff that goes on it is about another 10-12k!. this engine is easily worth 30K.. easily. This engine is the most rational extension of exactly how much horsepower and torque you can get out of a Ford 6.0 without worry and still drive it daily if needed. Next the transmission was re-manufactured to handle the horsepower with the appropriate parts installed. Additionally a larger transmission cooler was added as well. The truck retains Tow/Haul mode! Once the power pack was installed into the truck and the body was reinstalled we added a snow performance methanol injection system, a SCT ITSX engine management system and at the owners insistence a manual EGT gauge. Then the truck went to the dyno for tuning and testing. It went to the tuners on a trailer not because it wouldn’t run, but at the owner’s insistence so that nothing would get damaged. At the dyno, special tunes were written to cover the needs of the owner from a “stock tune” to a “tow tune” all the way to “maximum” tune. “race” and “ultimate street” are just a portion of the tunes in the middle of that spread. Now with over 7k miles of driving and tweaking the truck is for sale. Why? The owner had a change of lifestyle (divorce) and has bought a class 6 car transporter with lounge and two car storage. In short, be bought something bigger and badder. Now this just sits and he said “make some room in my shop for me",so we are selling several lesser toys to make room. To replicate this truck would cost over $. 90,000.00. Admittedly the owner says he “went a bit crazy on this build”. Yeah, we agree. But now he owns the “Worlds fastest street driven Ford Excursion”. Never abused, but in unlimited tune this truck has gone over 145 miles an hour! When the other excursions are limited to 85 mph. The truck is NOT a ‘race” truck. It was designed to match the performance, handling, comfort, and durability of the owners 145,000 Mercedes AMG S class . Actually, the truck outruns the Mercedes on a rolling start and easily keeps pace with it on the high way as well. The truck is a bottom - up build. the brakes, steering and suspension meet the aggressive nature of the engine and transmission. Basically we think of this in the same level of a "tuner" package as an AMG , M series BMW, or Black Series Mercedes. Its purposeful, direct, balanced, capable, and inspires confidence behind the wheel. Driving this truck over 100 mph is a mind blowing experience yet is as calm and comfortable as driving in a luxurious $145,000.00 touring car! The truck is having two new front seat covers and foam installed this week. Using factory Ford Unlimited edition leather, foam and connectors. The old seats had weather cracks in them and the owner wanted them changed. The rest of the truck interior is AS NEW. The paint is excellent and we are fixing two small stone chips in the bumper the owner noticed prior to shipping. We will also be installing all new badging on the truck (excursion and limited labels.) This truck is listed at a FRACTION of what it would cost to reproduce. Stock – 350 hp Tow – 400 hp Street – 450 hp Street race – 500 hp Race – 600 hp Extreme – 700hp Unlimited – 750+ hp.Maximum - Max horsepower is projected to be over 800hp. not to be driven on the street. Running the tow tune this vehicle averages 18-20 mpg driving 65 mph Running the unlimited tune this vehicle averages 14-16 mpg driving 80+ mph Lay out: Truck has the rare four-captain seats configuration and is a limited addition. Stereo has been replaced with a navigation, blue tooth and video system with am/fm/sat radio and CD player. Also has back seat overhead (factory) dvd player that is networked to the dash head unit to play through all the speakers in the car. This truck is low, mean, powerful and stealthy. After we built it I drove it for three months and all the local cops thought the Secret Service had moved into town! Lol Vehicle Odometer reads approximately 139,000 miles. Mechanicals have less than 7000 miles since total rebuild / re-manufacture. Vehicle is perfectly sorted out and its performance is breathtaking in ANY tune configuration. Street tune is very drivable for a "mommy wagon" with very little hazing and excellent economy for a vehicle of this size. Unlimited tune turns this in to a SUPER CAR SUV and if you choose to "roll coal" it is not an issue. It's an interesting way to repay someone being an aggressive driver. After you roll on to the throttle they won't be able to catch you unless they are driving a 600 hp plus super-car.
