Adventure! 2006 Sportsmobile RB 4x4 Diesel E-350. Low 80k miles. I am the second owner and have owned it for 4.75 years. The original owner seemed to check every option on the list when he ordered it from Sportsmobile West in the fall of 2005. Engine: 6.0 Diesel. I’ve had all of the 6.0 issues so they have been properly repaired/improved:* June 2011: New OEM upgraded high pressure oil line, new OEM oil cooler and Bulletproof EGR cooler. Also installed coolant filter at this time.* April 2013: New Bulletproof FICM* Sept 2013: New Garrett Powermax Turbocharger* May 2015: New Airdog II fuel pump/filter system and regulated return* July 2015: New factory Ford fuel injectors. The engine starts and runs like new and has terrific power. Suspension: Sportsmobile West 4x4 conversion. I’ve added custom Deaver springs and Bilstein shocks for a smoother ride and about 1.5” more lift. Dynatrac balljoints and Sulastic rear spring shackles for the best in durability. Brakes: Dynatrac front and rear disk brakes. 2006 E-450 Hydroboost brake booster and new master cylinder. New front pads, rotors, wheel bearings Aug 2014. Wheels/Tires: Mega strong Alcoa aluminum wheels, 35x12.5x16 Toyo Open Country MT tires with 18k on them. ARB dual air compressor w/tank for airing up. Drivetrain: Ford F5R110 automatic transmission serviced every 30k. Deep Mag Hytec pan, custom transmission coolers w/fans in front bumper keeps trans much cooler than stock. Atlas two speed transfer case, Woody driveshaft, Dynatrac ProRock 60 front and rear axles: 30 spline front, 35 spline rear with LSD and full float. Yukon front axle hubs w/Stage 8 spindle nuts. All this is pretty much bulletproof and has only seen synthetic gear oil. Electrical: Dual starting batteries, AGM 4D house battery, 270 amp alternator w/new belt. Edge CTS2 Insight for full engine monitoring, EGT and transmission temp gauges on dash. Kenwood touch screen stereo w/Ipod cable and Sirius antenna. CB radio. Camper: Full Sportsmobile RB 50 layout w/Penthouse and upper bunk. Onboard propane, SMEV stove, sink, fridge, Espar D4 diesel furnace and Espar Hydronic diesel water heater for engine warm-up and for making hot water. Rear shower, LED lights throughout. 1000 watt Xantrex full-sine inverter, Porta potti. I’ve moved all the water system inside the van to avoid freezing when winter camping. All detailed and ready for adventure. Body: Front Aluminess bumper w/aforementioned transmission coolers and custom intake scoop below to aid engine cooling. Rear bumper is a custom swing out I made using an Aluminess bumper and mega heavy duty steel arms. Front and rear bumpers are powdercoated as is the Aluminess deluxe storage box. Sales pitch: This thing is amazing and has been something of an obsession for me. It’s off-road ability belies its size and makes those Jeep trails possible. Plus it’s extremely comfortable for camping even on the coldest winter nights. The Espar D4 furnace has no problem maintaining 70F inside. I wasn’t sure I’d ever use the heated rear shower, but it turned out to be a huge success. Everything works. If there is anything you’d like to see a picture of, please ask.
