pontonponton store I bought this van new in 79 and built an interior for it. I used it for years all over the country as a camper. For the last ten years it has run less than 500 miles a year. The factory paint had a lot of orange peel so in 86 I had it repainted with a clear coat. Today the clear coat is peeling on the roof and one side. The van has minimal rust for it's age on the fenders. The floor pans and wheel wells are exceptionally clean as it has never been out in the winter. It was mainly driven on the interstate and has been gently used so it does not have all the rattles that are common in old cars. It has been inspected and insured all the years I have owned it. It runs and drives fine, although it does need some work. The transmission leaks from the front seal. It leaves about a half cup of fluid on the floor after driving. It also has an oil leak at the base of the distributor. Lately it has developed an anti freeze leak, although the radiator appears good and was changed in the early 90's. Some rust is starting by the fenders as you can see in the photos. The floor pans and frame are clean and pretty much rust free. The tires are only a few years old and look like new. It has a set of vintage American racing wheels that still look great. The interior is usable and other than the drivers seat is in good condition. This is a good solid easy rebuild body with mechanical's that still run good, just need some tending to. Oil and filter is changed every year and brake fluid and antifreeze every two years. This is probably not a good choice for a daily driver as it gets 12 mpg. It runs good though and can be driven anywhere. This is an old van and it may have problems that I am not aware of. If it was to be driven daily I am sure more problems will develop. This van was my first new car and has always been my favorite. It has not had much use anymore and needs to go.
