Here is a wheelchair van that catches one's eye not because of the bulkiness associated with wheelchair vans but because it looks & Runs great, as my son put it Dad's transformer. For sale is a 1997 Ford E-150 wheelchair van. I am the original owner, as you can see with the pictures the van is in great shape. I live in the suburbs of San Diego California 90% of the miles on the Van are highway miles, Not to mention because of our weather we are able to keep our cars clean and rust free. All maintenance i.e. synthetic oil changes, tire rotations, brakes, batteries and handicap equipment have always been very well maintained, knowing how much these vehicles cost new. I am fortunate that I am a service-connected veterans, as a result the VA has helped me maintain all the handicap equipment in perfect operating condition. Whoever purchases the Van will see from top to bottom there is absolutely nothing leaking and that the Van is in great condition. The seat configuration allows you to have six people including the wheelchair. All controls on the dashboard have extensions. The gearshift is angled and has a fork like shape so that if you don't have any hand movement you are able to place your hand inside of it to shift. The Van has CD changer, front and rear heat and cold AC, rear bench seat folds to create a bed manually. Since I am not able to drive a sports car I decided to purchase aftermarket parts so that my eight-year-old son at the time would like the van! I have a body kit all around that makes the van unique, I also have Colorado custom apex wheels that look great, Magnaflow exhaust and my sons black racing stripes. A great aspect of this Van is that an able-bodied person and a wheelchair user are able to switch positions either to drive or become the passenger by simply changing a few things that takes less than two minutes. The handicap conversion consists of: 5 inch drop floor, 53 inch entrance and has 58 inch headroom. Automatic sliding door, Vangater ll Series tri-folding Lift, Weight: 345 pounds Lifting Capacity: 600 pounds, 30 inches wide 47 inches long, 2 EZ LOCKS driver & passenger, allows wheelchair to roll directly into position without having to configure straps, wheelchair user is able to drive or ride front passenger. The driver and passenger seats can be easily removed with a touch of a button or switch since they are on wheels and lock into the EZ LOCKS. All can be controlled from the inside of the vehicle through switches on the dash board on rear bench seat or by remote and rear light lens with a magnetic key. EMC AEVIT II push pull gas and brake hand control, it is designed to work if your engine were to cut off you still have the ability to use the electronic brake: install date 2008. EMC Digi Tone on the a tri pin that allows you to control the signal lights, Brights, windshield wipers, horn, cruise control, this is all done by a slight movement of your wrist to the left located on the gas and brake hand control. Zero Effort steering. The headlights come on at dusk automatically and off when vehicle is turned off. I have a technician with 20 years of experience installing and uninstall hand controls or any assisted driving equipment if needed. If the winning bidder needs a specific driving hand control and does not need the EMC hand controls my technician can remove and replace them with the hand control they need the cost will depend on the hand control. Additional information: I have replaced the starter, steering box, rotors, drums and rear AC. I listed this vehicle last year in August on eBay and decided not to sell it at the time; however, because I only put 4000 miles on it since, it's time to sell it to someone who will use it. An able-bodied person is able to drive the van at any time. I may be preaching to the choir; however please note if you are the winning bidder do not drive the vehicle using the EMC electronic brake & gas-control without proper training by a licensed driving instructor from your local wheelchair van conversion shop or dealer.
