1939 Ford Deluxe Coupe mild hotrod or street rod. This car was fully restored frame off in 2004, and was driven very little until I bought it. There were many, many new parts put on at that time, including all new floors, new Lebaron/Bonney interior, new glass, etc. I have lots of receipts from the restoration, and some photos. I will include those, as well as receipts for my costs in the car. I even have some of the original Flokstone Gray paint that was used in the restoration. I have done very little modification to this car. I have added turn signals, an alternator and a later distributor to the stock 6-volt system, as well as converting the headlights and taillights to quartz bulbs for better visibility. I also added a 4" dropped axle and a new stabilizer bar for better handling and to get the stance I wanted. The wheels are stock, but powder coated orange, and the hubcaps are for 1936 Ford. The tires are new Coker bias ply, 650/16 in the rear, and 550/16 in the front. This is a good running, nice driving mild hotrod, and the rebuilt stock 239 cubic inch flathead runs really nice. The rear I think is the 410:1 ratio, so the comfortable cruising speed is around 60. The paint is getting a little tired, and there are a few nicks and scratches, but this is a good quality driver condition auto. I have added photos of paint or bodywork flaws at the hinge on the driver's door, and at the lip of the trunk opening. There is also a tear in the headliner, maybe to get at the windshield wiper motor, which does not work. The only other bad point that comes to mind is that the windshield leaks. The windshield rolls open on the 39, so I suspect either a bad seal, or maybe misalignment. As with any car this age, there is no warranty offered nor implied. The mileage listed is what the odometer shows, but I am not representing that as accurate. I have probably put on 3000 miles in the 2 + years I have had the car. The previous owner told me he only put about 500 miles on it following the restoration. I love this car, but I am moving on to different interests. If you want a dependable driver quality car, buy it now. I you select the buy it now option, I will include a number of parts I have, such as a 6-volt electric fuel pump, an old puller for the rear hubs, some parts I bought to convert to 12 volt, etc. Note, these will only be included if the car is sold with buy it now. The car is in Ames, Iowa and available for viewing. if you can't come to see the car, use the ask a question or call me at 515-232-8595, or 515-450-6697, and I will do my best to answer your questions. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I can hold the car for a short time, but I need my garage space for other projects. Please remember if you select Buy it Now, you make a commitment to buy the car. I will expect communication from the buyer and a $1000 non-refundable deposit within 3 days of the auction end. the balance will be paid within ten days, via cashiers check, wire transfer, or in cash if you come to pick up the car. If payment is by cashier's check, I will not release the car until the check has been verified beyond a doubt of it's validity.
