Details: This vehicle was formerly in service with the California Highway Patrol, it is in great overall condition. CHP fleet vehicles are required to receive regular scheduled maintenance and the mileage on it is assumed to be majority highway miles, so it has received all the care that a large, well-funded agency's fleet services department provides, and in my experience, highway patrol vehicles generally have less wear & tear than city police vehicles as the majority of the miles are highway miles vs. street. As a retired Law Enforcement officer, I have driven my share of police vehicles, and I purchased this one for myself as an inexpensive, reliable, "daily driver". Since I've owned it, it has received all regular maintenance and has been checked out throughly by my mechanic who is confident that the vehicle is in excellent working condition and can easily handle cross-country trips. There are around 2K miles on the new Firestone Pursuit tires (and a new full spare), along with new shocks and struts, brakes, battery, as well as a few misc items. I have all maintaince records from the broker that bought it at auction from CHP and prepped it, as well as records since I purchased the vehicle. The reason the HiD headlights, louder aftermarket horns, etc were not installed (but will be included in the sale) is because I have unexpectedly been offered (and I accepted) a "second career" position overseas with the Government- otherwise I'd be keeping the vehicle. While the vehicle is an ex-CHP car and passed a CA smog-check in January 2015, the vehicle is currently registered in Texas as I am a Texas resident. The exterior has some scratches/dings, and the paint also is consistent with use/mileage/age- CHP did not give it a perfect paint job when they prepped the vehicle for auction, but it cleans up well (look at the pics). The brakes were replaced prior to auction, the battery is near new (6 months old), and like most police vehicles, the trunk release button inside the car is disconnected. All law enforcement emergency equipment has been removed, but the wiring and plugs for the emergency equipment is still intact and accessible. The rear passenger windows and rear window have light tinting. When I added the factory stereo, I purchased one that has the upgrade of an auxiliary jack for an IPod or MP3 player. New spark plugs, fuel filter.... In short, it's in great shape, runs strong, and should be a reliable "daily driver" for quite some time- taxi companies will purchase these P71 Crown Victorias at auction and run them to/past 300K miles, and parts are inexpensive compared to import and other domestic vehicles as the fleet Crown Victoria has been the predominant workhorse police sedan nationwide for many years. The FlexFuel option allows the use of cheaper Ethanol fuel that is becoming increasingly available at gas stations. The only thing "wrong" with the vehicle is a intermittent faint rattle that is due to a loose plate inside the catalytic converter- it is not accessible, and it does NOT effect emissions or performance, and the only way to hear it is if you drive slowly down a quiet street with the windows down and the stereo off. This vehicle is for local pickup only and is currently located in the Los Angeles / Pasadena area. Priced as listed or best offer
