Now, after years of service and a top notch cosmetic restoration, this LTD has to be one of the cleanest and nicest original Police cars available for purchase anywhere. ALL of this LTDs original police equipment is present and in excellent working order. Even cooler, its stalwart special order 5.0L Mustang V8 is loaded for bear and ready to hit the road. If you’re looking for a unique collector car that will start a conversation anywhere you take it, this LTD police car is your hot ticket. Redesigned for the 1983 model year, the final generation American LTD utilized Ford’s venerable Fox platform to perfect a ‘downsized’ police car formula which began with the 1978 Fairmont. Because of its rear wheel drive layout and available V8, the LTD offered a variety of niche models that its front wheel drive cross-town rivals simply couldn’t compete with. One of those niche models was the 1984-85 LTD police package which combined the Mustangs 5.0 liter V8 with an enhanced suspension package from the LTD LX to create what many cops referred to as ‘the four door Mustang’. With a top speed of 123 MPH and a durable, performance proven platform, these tough little police cars were great at catching speeders and firmly established Ford as a leader in the fiercely loyal police market. An official looking solid black car seems to be the prototypical vehicle of most law enforcement agencies, surpassed only by white in terms of popularity; which is most likely due to cheaper cost. Exceptionally maintained throughout its entire life and likely refurbished at some point as a public relations show piece, this vintage, real deal police car is in outstanding, era correct condition. Deep and glossy black lacquer paint hints that a detailed cosmetic restoration was likely completed many years ago (meaning the car probably spent very little time getting beat up on the streets before it was retired to show status) and its weather stripping is supple, its doors close tightly and there are no rattles or squeaks anywhere to be found. The car’s rust free body is as straight as when it left the factory displaying no blemishes or parking lot dings and its rich black paint is devoid of any major flaws. Based on appearance alone, it’s safe to assume this LTD was one lucky car which didn’t see much extreme use at all and, since its restoration, likely hasn’t been outside of a garage for more than a few hours at a time. This listing is for an amazing Crown Vic. It runs great with new fuel pump, fuel lines, brake lines, tires, and so much more. There has been well over $1000 put into making this a safe and reliable family vehicle. This car needs nothing to drive, and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. Fresh oil change at 159,440 miles, and all new fluids throughout. Only 5k miles on tires with good even tread wear. Brake lines were installed by Krieger Ford last year (over $800). New fuel pump last month, good battery, cold A/C, hot heater, and nearly everything works as new. The only issues with this vehicle are the small rust spots as shown in photos, A/C only blows on high, but all temperature and vent settings work. The back windows are off track but the motors work fine (probably need reatached to the glass, or regulator looked at; but I just found that out today since I am never in the back seat. For sale is a good clean car, 1997 Crown Victoria with 185,050 miles. The car was driven by supervisors with a school district. The car run and driver very good. The car is equip with: air condition and heat that works, power window two of them goes up slowly but work, power locks, tires are like new about 75% of tread depth, brakes are in good condition, no broken glass, no visible scratches on the body, all gauges works, no emission program, three very small dents in the body, no rust, new paint job, new battery, cloth seats with no tears, floor carpets are fair, the car has good power and get great gas mileage, up to date maintenance services, lights, mirrors, transmission,engine, horn, ignition, works fine. The vehicle is almost in perfect condition. Besides a slight crack on the front windshield and some brake job, it is virtually a new vehicle. The engine runs perfect too. Hello, I am listing this car for a friend of mine. They bought the car new and just decided it was time for a new car so I'm listing the car for them. Very nice car 109k miles on it, I drove the car about 150 miles last week, very nice running, driving & quiet car. Tires are 50% or better, inspection is good till May 2015, we put a brand new battery in the car and just had a new evap sensor put in the gas tank because the check engine light was on. Car is still registered and insured, I can drive you around in it to see how nice it drives. The only thing wrong with it that I know of is the automatic lock button on the driver door must be worn out, it will unlock all the doors but will not lock them. The other automatic lock button works fine. The car has never sat, it was he and his wifes everyday driver. We are asking $4800 for the car, give me a call with any questions or to see the car.I have the title and the lien release in hand and you are welcome to speak with the owner about the car as well.
