Built on the first day of T Top production at the LA plant and is one of approximately 400 T Top Thunderbirds built .Low original mileage, The car was placed in storage in 1996 with only 37491 miles on it. The car was very well maintained. No body damage, no rust ,has never been in an accident, This is an extremely well optioned car with almost every conceivable option. 8 track AM/FM stereo with Quadraphonic sound and upgraded speakers, optional color keyed rims, locking spare tire, custom made padded t top storage bags, trunk mounted t top restraint straps, Convenience Group, time delay windshield wipers, speed control, tilt column, electric rear window heater, rear vinyl roof, working air conditioning, interior decor group, appearance protection group, remote controlled rear view mirrors, tinted glass, power cloth split bench seats, power windows, power door locks, The a/c system was flushed, the a/c vacuum valve was replaced with a modern updated part with pressure shut off, the system was refilled with fresh Freeze 12 R 12 replacement refrigerant and works very well. The car starts and runs and drives perfectly and is very comfortable., The T Top had leaked and stained the headliner so I had the T Top structural frame completely resealed along with new perimeter weatherstripping, new center bar felts , new front and rear felts and a new cloth headliner, 4 brand new ww tires. I flushed the gas tank and had the carb rebuilt. Ive been getting 15 MPG+ in town and 18-20+ MPG on the highway, the engine runs perfectly, the transmission shifts perfectly, no leaks, knocks or smoke. The car was parked near a pine tree so it does have several spots were the pine sap marred the paint,, it does a few minor scrapes on the front turn signal housing otherwise the finish is in very good condition. Comes with full set of service manuals and original owners manual. Open to specialty/classic car trade of equal or lesser value . The car had been stored for 32 years ( since 1983) in Phoenix with only 89805 original miles on it. A few tastefulll modifications have been done to the car. A wood grain interior trim was installed, the color was changed from black to white and as the 390 engine and transmission had already been removed and discarded before the car was purchased, it was decided to upgrade the entire drive train to a more modern,reliable, easy-to-maintain and fuel efficient engine and transmission. A 1992 Mustang GT HO engine ( 275 HP ) was converted to carburetor use with a 4 barrel manifold, early timing cover with mechanical fuel pump, 4 barrel carb, chrome oil pan, and new HEI distributor . Also for better gas mileage and driveability an AOD automatic overdrive transmission which was refreshed and mated to a brand new drive shaft with new u joints and custom column shift linkage was installed . A brand new dual exhaust system was installed. the car was sent to MAACO for their top of the line paint job were the original black color was changed to Wimbledon White. Also a brand new windshield with new weather stripping was installed, This work totaled $3,760.28 . The paint is guaranteed for 5 years, there was no rust or dents to be repaired. The body, frame, doors, floors , trunk are rock solid with no rust, ever. The car also has the optional spinner wheel covers with 3 spares included. The car has a brand new, never been charged , complete Classic Auto Air air conditioning and heating system installed with the upgrade Electric control box to work it A brand new Custom Autosound USA-230 am/fm radio was installed. The drivers and passenger seats were reupholstered and brand new carpeting installed. 4 brand new tires were installed along with new front shocks and air lift rear shocks, This work totaled $728.54. The car has a new rear differential pinion seal, the rear axle housing was completely flushed, cleaned out and fresh fluid added, brand new rear brakes, drums and cylinders. Brand new power steering pump, front end alignment, brand new ignition switch, brand new power brake booster and master cylinder. This work totaled $2,081.00 . Receipts for all the parts and work performed on the car are of course included. Just 3 months ago I installed a brand new heavy duty battery. The clear New Mexico title verifies the original mileage was 89805. I have put a total of 188 miles on the car .The car has always been garaged . The following is a listing of those things I am aware of that may need further work. The rear power windows dont work, I dont know if this is the switches, the wires or if the motors stuck after over 30 years of not being used. The radio antennae went missing at MAACO , The lower ball joints, according to the shop may need to be replaced but the car drives and steers fine, the top has the dealer spray-on top covering that may need to be repaired or replaced as it has areas that flaked off and have been painted over. The drivers' door panel has a crack in it. Tires - Tread depth less than 2/32 inch, Sizes mismatched, Visible damage. Wheels - Visible cracks, damage or repairs, Mounting bolts loose or missing. Exhaust System - Leakage. All cars are used machines and used machines need general repairs on a regular basis many times without prior warning. This is especially true for name brand highline & exotic vehicles that have more elaborate features and systems. Also repairs are more common on say a 10 year old model car as opposed to a 2 or 3 year old model car since they cost significantly less than a newer car. Obviously the older the car the more possible this is of happening. So this is why seller highly recommends again that you purchase this warranty for your own peace of mind and general satisfaction. Can I purchase a long term extended warranty? Most vehicles qualify for a 2 or 3 or 4 year extended warranty plan depending on mileage and age of the vehicle. There are several different plans available for most vehicles. Some vehicles may not qualify for extended warranties. Exotic vehicles, High performance luxury vehicles, antique vehicles, or certain high mileage vehicles may not qualify for a warranty plan. No matter how comprehensive any warranty is it does not cover routine service or maintenance. Nor does any warranty cover every item on the vehicle. It is merely an insurance policy offered to offset the cost of more significant expenses. Can I see or inspect the vehicle in person? Prospective bidders are always welcome view, or arrange onsite inspections of the vehicle they are interested in BEFORE the close of the auction. Seller recommends that buyer have a third party inspection if buyer is unable to inspect vehicle in person before the close of auction. Once the auction has ended the vehicle is now considered sold and Seller does not permit any post sales inspections at that point. Vehicle may have slightly higher miles than what is shown due to test drives, demos, etc. Do you end auctions early? Seller reserves the right to end the auction early should it be deemed necessary. Vehicle may also be sold locally and it will be necessary to end the auction at that time. Also any bid retractions within the last half of the remainder of the auction are subject to be ended early at seller’s discretion. Seller further reserve the right to refuse the sale of any vehicle to any bidder or buyer at seller's discretion should it be deemed necessary. What are the technical legal terms? Venue for any legal action such as claims, motions, litigation, settlements, or any legal action associated with this sale from either the buyer or seller is to take place in the State of New Mexico in the Sandoval County Courthouse. By bidding on this auction the bidder/buyer agrees that any legal action will be heard in a Sandoval County Court in the State of New Mexico and therefore indemnifies the Seller against any claims or legal proceedings in any other venue. Buyer agrees to be responsible for all legal costs, including, but not limited to court costs, expenses, attorney fees, cost of process service, and any other cost associated with the normal course of business. Should there be any arrangement for disbursement or compensation related to this transaction, the buyer if in possession of item will be responsible for transportation of the item and documents pertaining to that item back to the Seller. Any negative assessments during the process will negate any arrangement made with the purchaser. The fee for any negative assessment is the deposit plus all legal costs, including but not limited to court costs, expenses, attorney fees, cost of process service, and any other cost associated with the normal course of process. Can Seller arrange financing for me or take my trade in? Seller will not offer any financing. Please have all loan and financing arrangements in place before you bid. Also seller will not accept trade-ins on this auction sale due to the limitations of the auction process. Do I need insurance? Once the vehicle is paid for in full, insurance is required from the buyer. Seller will not insure the vehicle after payment is made in full. This is especially important if your vehicle is being transported via car carrier. Most carriers include insurance against damages in the shipping process. This must however be confirmed with the Shipper.How does shipping work? Seller will not arrange shipping of vehicle. Vehicle shipping is the responsibility of the buyer of the vehicle. You are welcome to use any transporter you choose to pick up the vehicle. If you do not have a transporter seller may be able to suggest one for you. Also you can do a web search for vehicle transporters for a greater selection. Seller will not take vehicle to shipping terminal or shipping port. Vehicle must be picked up at the Seller's location at pre-arranged hours. There shall be no pickup appointments with Seller between the hours of 0600pm on Fridays and 0900pm on Saturdays. Pricing and delivery times are between you and your shipper. Average shipping time is 7- 14 days depending on many different factors. It is recommended that exotic or high dollar vehicles be shipped enclosed (but that is a personal choice). All buyers should keep the above information in mind when purchasing a vehicle. What happens after I win the auction? At the close of the auction Seller will contact you by email and ask for your name and phone number and will then call you on the phone and go over all of the details or you may call Seller at (505)504-8044. At this time, buyer will be directed to complete the $500.00 deposit via PayPal. Once this is done, all we need to do is schedule a time for delivery. Please give seller 24 hours notice if possible so that the vehicle can be prepared for delivery. Seller further reserves the right to refuse the sale of the vehicle to any bidder or buyer at Seller’s discretion should it be deemed necessary. If payment is made by cashier's check, money order, or auto draft checks we will hold all titles for 10 days or until funds have cleared. Personal checks are not accepted.
