This vehicle underwent quality frame off restoration in the early 90's by the original owner, who has since past away. The vehicle was stored for many years. Second owner purchased this vehicle in 2003, who was a member of Skyliner Club. I purchased the car from him a few months ago. This vehicle looks and drives like a champ. The paint is in very good condition with exception of minor chips. The chrome and Stainless Steel are original to the car, completely redone and they are still in beautiful condition, there are a few unnoticeable dings on the Stainless Steel. New glass all around with new rubbers, all four windows go up and down as they should. All gauges and lights work well, except the fuel gauge that sticks sometime. Original radio works fine. The interior is in beautiful condition with no blemishes, as you can see in the photos. The engine is in good condition, no leaks, no smoke from anywhere, it does not overheat, and the transmission shifts smooth. Power steering, power brakes, drums all around; brakes and wheel cylinders were replaced recently. Steering is a bit tight, but it drives straight down the road, does not pull left or right. I updated the charging system to one wire 125 amp alternator and installed a new battery. Frame is powder coated black. Now for the most important, the retractable top works just as it should. The power train has about 20,000 miles on it. The undercarriage of this car looks as nice as the rest of the car. New shocks, new bushings, new gas tank see the photos. Here's a nice 1940 Ford Coupe. The car has been heavily modified and is a great driver, also very fast. We have done a considerable amount of work to this car sorting things out, all within the last 200 miles. The customer has found a new project and this one must go the help fund it. Here's the details. This is an all steel 1940 Ford coupe, it's been fitted with a 2005 5.4 liter Ford two valve V8 and a 4R70W automatic transmission. The motor was modified with a Roush supercharger and it runs very strong. The front suspension has been replaced with a Mustang 2 independent system, it has power steering and the brakes were recently upgraded to Wilwood rotors and discs. The rear suspension is all new, we did a new narrowed 9" housing with new axles 4.11 gears and disc brakes. There is a ladder bar setup from Alston and we made all the cross members, panhard bar and mounting points in house. The car stops and steers great and goes straight when you stab it. Rear tires are new Mickey Thompson 31x18.5's and there are Torque Thrust 2's all the way around. The interior is done in a race car style with beaded aluminum panels and an 8 point roll cage. There's a GM tilt steering column, Stewart Warner gauges and lightweight racing bucket seats. There is heat and air conditioning, it all works great. The tach and speedo are not working at this time but probably an easy fix for the new owner. Overall the car is a great driver with plenty of power to spare. It will idle all day with the air on, no problem but when you want power it's right there! The body is solid but the paint has a few dings here and there, take a look at the pics. Overall it presents well. Please ask all questions before you make an offer as you are entering into a legally binding contract. All shipping charges are the buyers responsibility.
