For Sale is my wife's 2005 Ford Escape Limited 4 door SUV with All Wheel Drive (AWD). We are only selling because I just bought her a new mini van because we wanted a 7+ passenger vehicle. This SUV has no known major issues at all, it does have a few scrapes and rust spots of which I will point out with pictures but nothing major. This SUV is pretty loaded for its time... it has "Limited" trim, keyless entry, black leather, AWD, power everything, moon roof, 6 disc CD player, and heated front seats. All the small things such as blinkers/lights, power windows, air/heat, radio/CD player work fine. (the only thing that doesn't work is the rear view window wiper) This is a fantastic winter vehicle, because it has AWD it can go through most anything (I didn't even bother shoveling the snow on my wife's side of the drive way) This vehicle has never been in any major accidents(I will link the auto check at the bottom of this description) It has however been in two minor accidents. The first minor accident was in 2009 when a car rear ended it at fairly low speed denting the rear bumper, (no air bags were deployed) it did get repaired professionally via insurance company. The other accident was more of a scrape in which a car pulled out in front of the vehicle and literally scraped the front license plate right off the front of the SUV. This was not repaired because I didn't' deem the damage to be significant enough to justify it. (picture is linked below in imperfections list) I have always kept up with regular maintenance such as oil changes. In October 2014 I spent nearly $600 to purchase 4 new Hankook tires with a 70,000 mile tread warranty for this SUV. Earlier this year I had new rear brakes installed with new rotors, pads, and calipers. Mechanically the vehicle is sound and should run great for a very long time, my wife wasn't even driving 6,000 miles a year and it only has 75,218 miles on the odometer. It's a solid all around vehicle and I have no doubt it will serve its next owner well for a long time. Thats about all I can think of to say, I will let the pictures and short video I took of this SUV speak for themselves. The bullet-shaped taillights are in excellent shape. The engine is a correct 56AB flathead displacing 239 cubic inches. With a recent detailing in the original corporate bronze paint, it has the right look and all the original equipment is intact, from the downdraft carburetor and oil bath air cleaner to the top-mounted generator. Recent service work includes a full tune-up with new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor, plus a rebuilt fuel pump, so it starts easily and runs well without any “flathead fever” issues or vapor lock. The gray striped cloth interior (which Ford called “Craftcord”) is unquestionably all original and in good condition as well. Aside from a single split on the lower front seat cushion, it shows quite well and would be best suited for preservation and cleaning rather than replacement. The cushions underneath are still comfortable enough for all-day cruising and in typical Ford fashion, the floor coverings are the original durable rubber mats front and rear. The rear seat area remains in almost new condition and all the hardware shines up nicely. The instrument panel is likewise quite well preserved with a full array of functional gauges around a half-round speedometer, all of which sport crisp markings, bright needles, and a clear lens. Ford’s 50th Anniversary was in 1953, and it’s called out on the horn button but with little additional fanfare. Secondary controls are arrayed to either side of the speedometer and everything works. Of note, there’s a modern Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo system. The headliner shows no rips or tears and the trunk area is clean. Awesome car from the pages of automotive history, a blast to drive! The bullet-shaped taillights are in excellent shape. The engine is a correct 56AB flathead displacing 239 cubic inches. With a recent detailing in the original corporate bronze paint, it has the right look and all the original equipment is intact, from the downdraft carburetor and oil bath air cleaner to the top-mounted generator. Recent service work includes a full tune-up with new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor, plus a rebuilt fuel pump, so it starts easily and runs well without any “flathead fever” issues or vapor lock. The gray striped cloth interior (which Ford called “Craftcord”) is unquestionably all original and in good condition as well. Aside from a single split on the lower front seat cushion, it shows quite well and would be best suited for preservation and cleaning rather than replacement. The cushions underneath are still comfortable enough for all-day cruising and in typical Ford fashion, the floor coverings are the original durable rubber mats front and rear. The rear seat area remains in almost new condition and all the hardware shines up nicely. The instrument panel is likewise quite well preserved with a full array of functional gauges around a half-round speedometer, all of which sport crisp markings, bright needles, and a clear lens. Ford’s 50th Anniversary was in 1953, and it’s called out on the horn button but with little additional fanfare. Secondary controls are arrayed to either side of the speedometer and everything works. Of note, there’s a modern Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo system. The headliner shows no rips or tears and the trunk area is clean. Awesome car from the pages of automotive history, a blast to drive!
