1965 Ford Econoline Pickup, 170 six cyl, 3 speed on column, 87XXX original miles, and has been garage-kept for the past 22 years. This truck has been repainted but is otherwise all original complete with all emblems/accessories and has never been hit, cut up, or modified. Mostly surface rust with some pitting in the truck bed. A few small perforations under the cab doors, easily repaired. The original tailgate, which is virtually impossible to find for these trucks is in near mint condition, has the original working hardware and has only minor dents and some surface rust. Some of these tailgates alone have sold for approximately $2000.00. Most of what you see that looks like mud caked to the underbody is some sort of thick undercoating that was applied about 25 years ago, and is flaking off in chunks. But for much of the underbody of the truck blue paint can be seen. Mechanically the truck runs very well. No tappet noise and engine has good compression. Some oil smoke, which is likely caused by worn valve seals. Two weeks ago, the engine was tuned-up, including wires, plug, cap, rotor, points, condenser, and a professionally rebuilt carburetor. Exhaust system has had maybe 3000 miles on it, is made of double-walled pipe. Truck needs a heater core, but I have done without it since it has never been run in winter. Brakes work well and hand brake holds well. Truck is very presentable as is, an ideal truck for those who want to own a bone-stock, unmodified first generation Econoline pickup. For those who want to do an authentic restoration or those who wish to do a hot-rod/show car modification project with a truck that requires virtually no structural/perforation repairs, you are highly unlikely to find one in this great condition. This Econoline E Series Pickup is located about 40 minutes southwest of Philadelphia in Oxford PA. Bidders are more welcome to come out prior to auction close.
