This auction is for a 1956 Ford Thunderbird replica made by Shay in the early 80s. They were authorized by Ford and sold through Ford dealerships. They were titled as 1956 models. Most of these Thunderbirds were built with V8 engines. This one has an original 4 cyl engine and a 4 speed transmission which makes it very rare. It even has air and power brakes. They were built with rack and pinion steering and they have a fiberglass bodies. I'm sure if you have read this far you know what a Shay is. They built more Model As than Thunderbirds. This car is a local trade for us. We have driven it and everything works. The air even blows cold. It starts right up with no issues. It is a blast to drive and handles great. It has 4 new white lettered radial tires. The steering is tight and the power brakes are good. The clutch is strong also. This is an affordable classic car that you can enjoy that is also a safe investment. This car HAS had a repaint. The shock on the deck lid needs replaced but all of the lights, horn, signals seem to work fine. All of the factory Shay gauges work, even the clock and the tach. The odometer reading is 07,085 so assume that is 107 K. Please come and check the car out or ask questions about it before you bid. We are a Ky dealer and sell all vehicles "AS IS" according to Ky laws. A 60 day temp tag is available with proof of insurance. All vehicles must be paid for before delivery or title work is completed. Titles will be mailed by Certified Letter and are guaranteed by Ky law. We want a non-refundable deposit of $500 , preferably by Paypal, at the close of the auction and the balance in full within one week. All payments by Paypal over the deposit will be subject to a 4% fee. Wire transfers are preferred for the balance.
