Had a lot of interest on previous listing, so relisting with a buy it now, with a best offer for SERIOUS buyers ONLY. Please read and understand the entire listing, before making an offer to buy. A 42 Ford rat rod??? I don't think so!!!, but this is so rare that e-bay don't list it in their make and model listing chart so in order to continue with the listing, I had to select one of the manufacturers listed in their manufacturers listing chart, so I chose Ford. Of course this is NOT a Ford, but a 1942 Diamond T . How many have you seen lately compared to Fords and Chevys? Well, this is your chance to own one very rare bird.I am listing this fabulous rat rod for my friend and neighbor who built this vehicle from the ground up. This one gets smiles from everyone young and old. and of course most everyone has questions and comments. It is a wild machine, but has been built to be safe and reliable. The 42 Diamond T truck cab sits on a custom fabricated 2"x3" square tube frame Z'D in front and rear to get it down there. Front axle and brakes are 46 Ford, and Steers thru an early Mustang steering box. It is equipped with adjustable quarter elliptic springs front and rear. Rear differential is 9" Ford posi, but not sure of ratio. a new 350 Chevy crate engine with a 600 Holley and a rebuilt 350 turbo provide plenty of reliable power. Cooling the 350 is a new Speedway large capacity aluminum radiator and a BMW high speed pusher fan. Exhaust exits thru Chevy ram horns to strait pipes dumping at rear, which give it a great sound. Wheels front and rear are 46 Ford 16". Tires 600X16 front and NEW 750X16 rear. The headlights with built in turn signals are from a Harley Fat Boy. Front fog lights are Genuine vintage Ford items. Inside notice the very nice original factory Diamond T gauge cluster still installed in the dash. These are currently not functional, but oil pressure and engine temp are monitored by modern gauges. The tilt bed is hand fabricated and incorporates the rear of a 1963 Olds 88. Of course when on the Olds, the tail lights were standing up, and now they have been layed to rest. The two piece crank out windshield, with new glass installed, gives plenty of ventilation. The working side windows and rear window still retain their original glass complete with some character cracking. Speaking of character, you don't get much more then this rat exhibits. This is what a TRUE rat rod is meant to be. Check out the original Diamond T stainless grill, the front ornament with the T in the Diamond, and the original hood side emblems, other subtle features. This is an honest American home garage built rod designed and built by a car guy who happens to be a skilled fabricator and welder using original vintage and antique American made parts. So,if you looking for a true rat rod, you have found it. It has true, age produced, patina and to set it off, it has some shiny paint graphics along with a beautiful finished cherry wood bed. No, It don't have a boat anchor big block stuffed with overpriced aftermarket internals to produce useless, unused HP and a gob of other new foreign made after market parts, but if you want, it is capable of lighting up those wide whites. Please be sure this is the type of vehicle you are looking to purchase, and understand this is a somewhat noisy and not the smoothest riding vehicle. It has manual steering and brakes and of course the air conditioning consists of cranking out the windshield and rolling down the side windows and lower cab vents. Also be sure you have liquid transferable funds immediately available in the amount of the final full purchase price. Please understand that this vehicle is being described to the best of my ability, and I would suggest, if close enough, to come and personally inspect it. As stated earlier, I am NOT the owner, but feel I know this vehicle pretty well, but I am just the messenger, so might have missed some details, so if you have serious interest and questions that hinge on the purchase of this vehicle please CALL BOBBY @ 502-604-3120 for the most accurate answers to your questions or for more details. This vehicle is being sold to generate funds for a another project, and is being offered AS IS WHERE IS with no warranties expressed or implied. Again, this type vehicle is not for everyone. If you do not want to be noticed or bothered with people's comments and questions, and smiles, this isn't the vehicle you want. This vehicle has a clear MATCHING NO. TITLE in current owner's name, and is being offered for sale at a very reasonable price, and you are fully expected to purchase it under the terms listed. IF YOU HAVE LESS THAN 10 FEEDBACKS, you are required to CALL THE OWNER @ 502-604-3120 within 24 hrs. after making the bid, or your bid WILL BE CANCELLED........ The winning bidder must make a $500.00 deposit within 48 hrs, from end of listing, with the balance to be paid by Bank check with all funds cleared by bank before vehicle and title is released to buyer. It is the buyer's full responsibility to secure and schedule shipper. Seller will work with shipper to get it safely loaded. THANKS FOR LOOKING.
