The Cobra rolling chassis and engine were united by master hot rod craftsman Jordan Quintal of Super Rides by Jordan, Escondido, CA. No performance, comfort or esthetic detail was spared in the construction of the rolling chassis, the engine or the final assembly. It is one of the finest CSX 427 S/C Cobra examples in California. This Cobra combines breathtaking performance with CLASSIC elegance. This car includes all the components and details sought after by a serious Cobra collector. There are very few CSX Cobras that combine a Carroll Shelby aluminum rolling chassis, complemented by a Carroll Shelby built 560+ HP engine. This beautiful hand formed aluminum body was delivered to Shelby Automobiles. It includes stainles steel headers and side pipes, chrome quick jacks, and a 42 gallon racing fuel cell. The Cobra has an S/C chrome rollbar, aluminum detailed trunk, and a dropped and repositioned pedal box to benefit taller drivers. This Cobra was ordered with the special black leather interior and wool carpet. It includes Carroll Shelby Signature black face gauges, leather door map pockets, electronic tachometer, glove box with door, heater/defroster, and detachable steering wheel. The drive train is simply superb. It includes a Shelby aluminum 427 FE engine, bored and stroked to 482 CI that creates 560+ HP and 550 ft/pounds of torque. The engine includes aluminum FE cylinder heads with stainless steel 2.250" intake and 1,750" exhaust valves, and two 650 cfm Holley 4-barrel carbs. The engine contains a billet steel crankshaft, forged H-beam connecting rods, forged aluminum 10.5:1 compression pistons, Shelby Signature Series stainless roller rocker arms, a hydraulic Shelby proprietary grind camshaft, and Shelby die cast aluminum valve covers with black crinkle finish. Please refer to the the specification summary for the many additional Shelby engine options, complemented by the upgraded stainless steel fasteners and hardware. The transmission is a Tremec TKO 5-speed with a McLeod 12" clutch assembly with dual friction disc and lightweight flywheel and a Lakewood scattershield bellhousing. The original rear end was upgraded at the Shelby factory to a Quaife limited slip 3:31 differencial oil cooler system. The suspension includes racing Bilstein shocks, with rear racing lower control arms. The brakes are upgraded Girling calipers with 5/8" x 11" OD solid rotors front and rear. The 15" wheels are polished Halibrand style S/C pin drive knock offs with Goodyear Eagle Sports Car Special tires, 26 X 8 front, 26.5 X 10.5 rear. This 427 S/C Cobra has a total of 850 break-in miles and has been meticulously maintained. It has been a bit of a rescluse and has not attended Cobra events, nor has it been shown. The Cobra was registered in California as a "Special Construction" vehicle, a very difficult to obtain registration, and carries current California Title, registration and tags. It is unquestionably one of the most beautiful convertibles in America. The first GT500 convertible did not appear until 1968. After contemplating buying a 1968 or later model Shelby convertible, the owner of this GT500 Tribute decided that he much preferred the elegant lines of the 1967 GT500 coupe and decided to blend performance and beauty and have a 1967 GT500 convertible created. The project was completed by Jordan Quintal of Super Rides by Jordan, one of the preeminent craftsman in the hot rod world and past winner esteemed Ridler award. Super Rides attention to detail is spectacular. The original 1967 convertible was a rust free California car that was completely rebuilt and transformed by Super Rides to beautiful Shelby GT500 standards. This Shelby is powered by a Ford 302 CI with aluminum heads, big valves, a roller cam, and MSD ignition, and two 650 CFM Holley's. The GT500 has a Tremec 5-speed, 9" Ford rear end, performance suspension and shocks, and front and rear disc brakes. The Shleby sits on fabulous looking 15 x 7" front and rear minilite Trans-AM alloy wheels. This shelby is an absolute thrill to drive, handling like a Trans-Am race car. The GT500 not only boasts Trans-AM performance, it is absolutley gorgeous, with spectacular paint, engine compartment, and interior. When the hood pins are pulled and the Shelby hood is raised, jaws drop. Super Rides transformed the GT500's engine bay into one of the most beautifully detailed of any Shelby. The Cobra air cleaner and valve covers, custom firewall, structural components, radiator shroud, custom tanks, and ancillary accessories in chrome and stainless steel combine to make this bay drop-dead beautiful. The GT500 wears dazzling Ferrari Rosso Corsa red paint by Best of show, Escondido, CA. The interior is highlighted with a wood-rimmed Shelby steering wheel and brushed aluminum dash facing with JME Sport-Comp black-faced gauges.
