Car appears to have had one repaint in the original dartmouth green many years ago. Still shows well even with a few dings and scrapes. Chrome and stainless are in great shape. Glass looks good and all functions as it should. Decklid has had some repairs in the past that are beginning to show. New running boards. I can find no rust (other than surface rust) in the car, top or bottom. Engine appears to be a 1941 Ford 221ci flathead with recently added (within 1,000 miles) dual Stromberg 97 carbs on an Offenhauser aluminum intake manifold. Also added were Navarro aluminum heads and Red's headers with Smitty's mufflers. Suspension appears to be mostly stock with a few hot rod upgrades. Front and rear is lowered with Posies reversed eye lowering springs. Front and rear tube shocks added. Wheels are the original wide fives with Firestone 700s in the rear and 550s in the front. Newer gas tank.Interior is as original and in good shape. Drivers side of the bench has some fabric pulling loose and passenger side seat back has a broken pivot bracket that will need to be welded. All original gauges operate with the exception of the temperature gauge that has been unhooked in favor of a modern gauge. Lights work. Interior is clean and very presentable. Original radio is currently not functioning. Seatbelts for 4 installed.This car runs and drives excellent. Has the perfect look with just the right amount of patina. Perfect for the local cruise nights. Car appears to have had one repaint in the original dartmouth green many years ago. Still shows well even with a few dings and scrapes. Chrome and stainless are in great shape. Glass looks good and all functions as it should. Decklid has had some repairs in the past that are beginning to show. New running boards. I can find no rust (other than surface rust) in the car, top or bottom. Engine appears to be a 1941 Ford 221ci flathead with recently added (within 1,000 miles) dual Stromberg 97 carbs on an Offenhauser aluminum intake manifold. Also added were Navarro aluminum heads and Red's headers with Smitty's mufflers. Suspension appears to be mostly stock with a few hot rod upgrades. Front and rear is lowered with Posies reversed eye lowering springs. Front and rear tube shocks added. Wheels are the original wide fives with Firestone 700s in the rear and 550s in the front. Newer gas tank.Interior is as original and in good shape. Drivers side of the bench has some fabric pulling loose and passenger side seat back has a broken pivot bracket that will need to be welded. All original gauges operate with the exception of the temperature gauge that has been unhooked in favor of a modern gauge. Lights work. Interior is clean and very presentable. Original radio is currently not functioning. Seatbelts for 4 installed.This car runs and drives excellent. Has the perfect look with just the right amount of patina. Block zero decked for 10 to 1, bored honed line and bore, Balanced, all the standard stuff. Edelbrock preformer-RPM intake powder coated, holley 4160 vac secondaries with sec metering plate 750cfm. MSD pro billet and 6AL, MARCH full alum billet bracket and pulley set with alt,ps,air. This kit alone was $1000. the standoffs were replaced with billet stainless. alum water pump. This engine was only run to break in the cam and only had coolant in it for this short time approx 2hrs. Light carbon on pistons can view with bore scope. Oil pan was made for the rear sump for the camaro frame (moroso 9 qt) HV melling pump. All acc on motor new with 0 miles, sanden ac compressor (polished) delco power steering pump powermaster alt (polished) Powermaster mini starter. Transdapt motormounts to fit front cross member. Custom headers made to fit engine cross member ceramic coated. no exhaust past headers but new flowmasters in back. Body, long bed rust free. lower cab corners replaced due to small rust holes found after sandblasting. outer bed perfect with entire pass side replaced with NOS complete quarter panel due to wreck, inside bed floor dented from use, had planned for wood kit. rear wheel wells extended for 15X10 305X50X15 centerline wheels with custom offset. Brand new tailgate from John's F-fun hundred's made in USA steel galv. rear roll pan needs some rework due to shipping strap. Snug top tonneau cover actually for the correct year. perfect rust free doors,hood. front fenders and cab in bare metal, back painted for a white truck, inner fenders and rad support powder coated black. firewall painted, under body sand blasted and painted. Micky traded this car away in 1965 for a 1932 Ford Vicky and regretted it almost immediately. He searched for his original car for many, many years and kept running into dead ends and in 1995 decided to build a replica, located a Touring body and the journey began.The Touring body had the back removed and was painted a Chevy Skymist Blue and pinstriped by Art Himsl. The upholstery was done in white vinyl by Freddy Diaz at Concord Auto Upholstery. The dash was welded and molded in place. Correct vintage gauges installed. Period correct Bell steering wheel connected to a 1956 Ford truck steering box. 1939 Ford pedals. Finally channeled 7" and dropped on a shortened Model A frame. The engine is a 59 AB flathead with Edelbrock heads. Fuel delivery is handled by 4 chromed 97 carburetors (2 dummies) mounted on a very rare Baron Tattlersfield 4x2 aluminum intake manifold. Ignition is handled by a Mallory dual point distributor. Chromed waterpumps, a custom radiator and electric cooling fans keep the temperature in check. The exhaust system is comprised of chromed headers, pipes and Glaspac mufflers. The transmission is a 1939 Ford unit.The front suspension has a rare "Axle" Stewart chromed front axle. The rear is a chromed 1940 Ford unit with 3:78 gears. Rear brakes are 1940 Ford as well. Wheels are 7.50x16 tires on reversed 16" rims on the rear and 5.60x15 on stock style 15" rims on the front. The car was finished in time for the 50th Anniversary Grand National Roadster Show in 1999 and then basically put in storage from 2000-2014. In 2014 Mickey decided it was time to dust off and freshen up the "Moonshiner" for the 2015 indoor show season. The car was mechanically gone through including: new coil, distributor, battery, rebuilt waterpumps and completely rebuilt rear brake system. All fluids were changed and the car received a major detailing to show quality with paint and striping touched up by Brandon Flaner from East Bay Speed and Custom. All of the work paid off when the "Moonshiner" won first place in its class at both the Grand National Roadster show in Pomona and the Sacramento Autorama. Now, with another recreation in the works, Mickey has decided to let the "Moonshiner" go to a new home. This car runs and drives excellent with under 1,000 miles on it and couldn't be built for near the asking price. Currently titled and registered in California. Micky traded this car away in 1965 for a 1932 Ford Vicky and regretted it almost immediately. He searched for his original car for many, many years and kept running into dead ends and in 1995 decided to build a replica, located a Touring body and the journey began.The Touring body had the back removed and was painted a Chevy Skymist Blue and pinstriped by Art Himsl. The upholstery was done in white vinyl by Freddy Diaz at Concord Auto Upholstery. The dash was welded and molded in place. Correct vintage gauges installed. Period correct Bell steering wheel connected to a 1956 Ford truck steering box. 1939 Ford pedals. Finally channeled 7" and dropped on a shortened Model A frame. The engine is a 59 AB flathead with Edelbrock heads. Fuel delivery is handled by 4 chromed 97 carburetors (2 dummies) mounted on a very rare Baron Tattlersfield 4x2 aluminum intake manifold. Ignition is handled by a Mallory dual point distributor. Chromed waterpumps, a custom radiator and electric cooling fans keep the temperature in check. The exhaust system is comprised of chromed headers, pipes and Glaspac mufflers. The transmission is a 1939 Ford unit.The front suspension has a rare "Axle" Stewart chromed front axle. The rear is a chromed 1940 Ford unit with 3:78 gears. Rear brakes are 1940 Ford as well. Wheels are 7.50x16 tires on reversed 16" rims on the rear and 5.60x15 on stock style 15" rims on the front. The car was finished in time for the 50th Anniversary Grand National Roadster Show in 1999 and then basically put in storage from 2000-2014. In 2014 Mickey decided it was time to dust off and freshen up the "Moonshiner" for the 2015 indoor show season. The car was mechanically gone through including: new coil, distributor, battery, rebuilt waterpumps and completely rebuilt rear brake system.
